I believe the heart and soul of Mathis rehab is their physical therapist at Mathis East Clinic,…read moreHope Cramer. She helped me achieve the mobility I needed to go hiking about a year ago and more recently she helped me build up my misguided arthritic hip and leg muscles to have a great recovery after a total hip replacement in May 2020. What makes Hope Cramer different than any other physical therapist (I've been to) is how much she cares about her patients. She talks to them like they're real people she just doesn't just give them exercises and let's they do it. Hope watches every detail. It's the minor things like resetting my leg each time I do this particular exercise. By doing so she has me TARGET the specific muscle(s) needing strengthened or stretched. Hope helped me achieve the strength and mobility goals that we set for before and after surgery recovery! My recovery has been amazing and it wouldn't have happened without Hope Cramer. My PCP Dr. Doubek referred me to Hope, and it was Hope's clear presentation of my program and her caring attitude that kept me returning. Thank you Hope!

I feel I have experienced discrimination due to the lack of knowledgeable staff here. I was wrongfully told I was unable to volunteer due to a non existing background check that was never performed on behalf of Good Shepherd. I was set for a meeting at 130 PM on a Tuesday and was informed to not show up on that same day at 0900 AM via email in which I was unaware of The email until later that evening. (After the meeting) I met with Amy and proceeded with the meet and greet and tour of the facility. As Amy mentioned nothing about the email she posted at 0900 AM, she then decided "I will go forward with your background check." With the intent, I have decided to be a blessing elsewhere and to provide my volunteer services as I have been a volunteer with hospice on and off for the past 7 years. I do not feel as if the compassion, grace and kindness was presented here at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan Kansas.

He was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. My family and I were given every courtesy, afforded privacy, and were treated as if we were a welcome guest in a private home. The hospice was clean, beautifully decorated, quiet and every effort was made to make family members welcome. The time we spent at Hospice House with my father was brief, however we were never rushed or made to feel like we were imposing; a fine group of professional and compassionate health professionals made my fathers last days bearable.

I'm happy to say I was wrong. Dr. Kris has helped everyone in our family, including my husband who suffers from chronic pain. When we haven't been able to see Dr. Kris, Dr. Amy has been great, too. We now get acupuncture sometimes, as well, and have been so impressed by the things Dr. Kris can help with and heal through chiropractic care and acupuncture. I have a needle-phobic child and she uses electric acupuncture on him. Literally, I have gone from my wit's end thinking, "What do I have to lose, even if this is completely fake," to recommending Rockhill Wellness Center to friends and family. Also, Katrina in the front office is great, too. She is kind and friendly.

I could have gone to another facility, but I decided to go to Stormont Vail - Flinthills Campus. I was seen by PA Michele Auck, examined and evaluated thoroughly and was referred to have an ultrasound. The results were normal, but had I delayed this visit, it could have been a serious experience. I just want to say, plain and simple, from the prior call to the facility; to the reception area; the triage nurse; Radiology Dept and of course, Michele's immediate attention to my medical needs, it was an exceptional experience. This is not my regular place of care, but I have received nothing short of exceptional and professional care on the occasions as a patient and have observed the same for others I visited there. As a resident, I am so glad these services are available to me, but even more so for other folks who have limited choices. Thank you Staff for your service to this community and to the folks who fought to keep the facility operational - Junction City needs you!!! Ruby Powell
