He's been there a long time and does excellent work! He was very caring/sympathetic and when I'd swear too much, he'd stop and give me a break. :-) haha. Definitely recommend for tattoos and piercing. My daughter and two friends had Pat do their cartilage and daith piercings, and he recently did my daith and my friend's as well. Healed great, and done quickly and well:) Today four of us went for smaller tattoos commemorating our marathons, beloved kitty, and one in memory of my friend's mom. They take walk-ins on Saturday and they were so accommodating, friendly and professional. Joel did two, Andy did one, and Ashley did two - and they all turned out great! Three artists on staff and we had a minimal wait. Bright, clean studio. Will definitely come back for more! Pics are right after they were done - can't wait to see fully healed! read more

Every time I come here I never have any issues. I don't have any tattoos but I have gotten my nose, tragus, and snug pierced here and each time I have no complaints. Faith pierced my tragus and snug, each time she's so nice, calm, and will fully inform me on how to keep it clean. They use the best surgical steel so it decreases the chance of an allergic reaction. I made the mistake of going to Pink Armadillo to get my other tragus pierced because they were cheaper and I thought I was going to die (I will write about them shortly). But I went to Faith and she removed the earring and said the steel could have been cheap, which caused my ear to not agree with it and to keep swelling up. She gave me a voucher to come back when it heals to get it re-pierced for free and just pay for the earring. She didn't have to offer that at all since I didn't get the piercing done there. Needless to say, I'm too scared to get my other tragus done again so I got the snug piercing. If I do consider getting another piercing, I won't hesitate to go back to her. read more

If you come to the ROC and want to get anything pierced or tattooed on your body, come here! It doesn't even matter who does your tattoo, they all are amazing artists. The prices run a little hire than other shops when it comes to tattoos but it's because they do the best work, the cleanest work and you will feel safe going here! I tan everyday, have been for years and my tattoos don't fade. The ink in them stays the same. I had my belly button and my cartilage pierced here as well. It is so cheap to get things pierced here and they use titanium so nothing gets infected. I never had a problem with my belly button, it healed just fine! I got my fourth tattoo here yesterday and I'm so happy with it!! They do a great job and I will come back. I encourage all my friends and coworkers to come here as well. read more

So many problems here I just wound up walking out. The shop refuses to take appointments over the phone because they require a $20 cash deposit. I explained that I was coming from out of town to get that tattoo, and asked if I could pay with a debit card over the phone. Very rudely, the receptionist just said "no." Decided to come in anyways, because I hear this shop does reputable work. Walk in at 1:00 on a Monday, nobody is waiting, looks pretty dead. They said they could get me in to begin in about an hour. Left, came back and they said it was going to be another hour. Not only that, but they also told me that to pay with card they charge 5% more (which is blatantly illegal in New York State). They also informed me that my 2 inch Rochester flower tattoo in complete black ink was going to be between $80-150. Absolutely absurd prices, and a ridiculous range for a very common tattoo. Overall, I felt disrespected and like this shop wasted my time. I will not recommend this place to absolutely anyone that expects common courtesy. read more

Today, my mom and I went back and got matching tattoos. Andy did my mom's and Joel did mine. I absolutely love my tattoo. Joel did a In Memory tattoo for my dad a few weeks after he died. It has been 9 months since I got the tattoo, and it still looks like he did it yesterday and I still get so many complements on it. I really appreciated the fact that he knew how important this tattoo was to me and he made sure every detail was perfect. I have 2 other tattoos but neither of them compare to Joel's work, I have recommended him to anyone that have asked me who and where did I get my tattoo and will continue to. Physical Graffiti is the best of the best in Rochester hands down. Gooch is my guy but I've also gotten tattoos by Joel and Bob (who is no longer there). Everyone in the shop is excellent. Their prices are fair and I know that if they tell me something can't be done, it can't be done. I don't live in Rochester anymore but anytime I get back to the ROC I try to get in with Gooch. Went in today with an existing tattoo that I really liked. Didn't know I could LOVE it until Andy fixed it up. He made all the letters thicker, filled in gaps and dotted all Is and crossed all Ts! He made sure I was comfortable and breathing. Definitely felt no pain compared to the last time I had my ribs done. read more

My boyfriend and I were there today. Andy did an awesome job on my tattoo, on his, well, not so much. It looks like it was done by a kid. He had things added to a really good existing tattoo, and he will now have to get it fixed. The guy that is supposed to meet and greet the public should not have a job. First of all, he pays more attention to his phone than customers, and swears in front of them constantly. Not what I expect to hear when I enter any store, regardless of what it is. And the icing on the cake, we were given 4 different prices, and they kept going up. If they had not tried to gouge us, I would have gone back for more work based on my tattoo. read more

I got my very first tattoo by Gooch in 2006 and came back to him for every tattoo I have (a dragon on my hip, Celtic heart on my wrist, and a Chinese symbol for 'life' on m right wrist) except for one because I moved to California this year. He has amazing talent and I love and appreciate his no-b.s. attitude. When I brought in what I wanted tattooed, and would tell him an idea, he made it better than I could have ever imagined. Gooch takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. I still get tons of compliments 5 years later, and I always have and will recommend him. I made damn sure that I followed his aftercare instructions perfectly to keep his work pristine. He definitely is a true artist, and I have always loved his personal touch in his work. Most of my friends have had tattoos by him, and he was even featured in an issue of the Rochester Insider a few years back. This guy knows what he is doing, and if I am ever in the market for a new tattoo when I visit Rochester, he will be my first and only stop. read more

I have been getting tattooed here for over 7 years now. Gooch has done most of my work and he's awesome with taking all of my pictures and drawings and making a solid tattoo design out of them. I think it's really hard to find an artist who I feel truly "gets" what I'm trying to achieve without having to go back and forth over a design. Squintz is also very talented. I haven't had work done by any of the other guys, but I have seen them work on other clients during my sittings and it's all great work coming out of this shop. Faith is a sweetheart, and I always look forward to making my appointments with her. I sometimes have to wait a bit before they can get to my appointment but I don't mind at all at this new location and the spacious waiting area with plenty of seating, vending machines, TV and magazines to keep you busy. For anyone who is the type who doesn't like to wait, book your appointment for right when they open and you shouldn't have to wait. read more

Not sure what happened here ? Gooch did my first and only tat ! Awesome work! Get lots of compliments! Went there 3 months ago and met with Gooch and gave him a folder of info for my next tattoo!! No problems , he was all in and told me don't worry no problems! He'd draw it up and do it!! Today after numerous phone calls and no call back ! I went and picked up my folder with no explanation of what happened or why no return call?? Some little kid in there would only say " I don't know " to every question I had !!
