Elden does in fact call me back with the price of $90 !!! I promptly told him I was not interested. So much for keeping my business local. I used another business in Portsmouth for $20 total. I don't mind if local means a little bit more but this was a complete rip-off !

When I asked her how much it would cost to put it in a box she said $25.00 to shrink wrap them together. These were not large items. 22'x8x4. I am grateful that she told me how to cancel and request a new return but $25 is ridiculous Make sure you know what the cost is going to be. They charged me $80 to return some furnace filters. They said they would "take care of it". the price got deducted from my refund.

My favorite photofinisher--I use them when I'm in the area and when I'm not. They do the normal stuff (prints, enlargements, etc.) as well as everything else--slides, 120mm, 220mm, advanced processing, etc. Holga fiends take note: you can mail them film and they'll mail you your stuff, or you can upload to the website or drop into the store. The people are great--knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to work with you. A small business in the best sense of that term. read more

I've always been well served by the Photosmith and his staff. They have done all my medium format B+W processing and printing for the last eight years. I'm fortunate that they are local and I can drop in anytime, but I use the Photosmith when I travel too. I'll mail my rolls of exposed film to them while I'm away and pick them up when I get home. They had my art for 5 months, ghosted my texts, emails and calls for 2+ months. They didn't tell me that they smeared an award winning piece of my art (liquid varnish instead of spray as discussed) or that they made and then patched a hole in a canvas... I had to discover these myself. Their bill was triple what was quoted on the phone, and time quoted of 3 weeks became 5 months. The excuses and apologies were a mile long but when it came to refunding what I spent (not even half of art value), they insulted me, laughed at me, and only refunded after I pursued a small claims lawsuit. Don't think the other location is any better, it was his wife that threw all the insults and LOL's, telling me when I demanded refund that if I wasn't so patient the whole 5 months, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Artists be warned: they're not worth it, there are other excellent framers with better service and far superior character.

The Technician Kim was super friendly and thoroughly explained every step of the process to me. I had a concern from previous eye care visit at a different practice and she assured me that she would bring my concern to Dr. Krieger and make sure that it was addressed during my visit. Both Kim and Dr. Krieger took the time to explain the images of my eyes from Optos, which helped me to understand my eye anatomy and how it affects my vision. Dr. Krieger had an excellent bedside manner, was very personable and very thorough. She reassured me that the concern another eye doctor had mentioned was not something that I needed to worry about and was able to explain why while showing me diagrams of the eye anatomy. At the end of the visit, Amanda printed out a copy of my glasses prescription and gave it to me without hesitation (something I have had to insist on at other places). She without any pressure offered to help me look at frames. The entire process was seamless and the care was excellent! I cannot recommend McLoughlin Eyecare enough!! I also want to add that I am a school nurse at a local school and McLoughlin eyecare took AMAZING care of one of my kids from school whose family struggles financially. It is very clear that they really care about the community and this is actually what made me decide to switch and go here! I could not be happier that I did! :)

I've used them for years for framing and matting. They are capable of genius when cutting down a frame to fit another painting. If I want a French mat done, I don't even need to suggest the colors used. If I ask for a watercolor or print to be "floated" on a lower bed while a raised mat surrounds it, a little bit of lovely magic, they can do it. While generally, I do not order frames, they have a great line of frames - both contemporary and traditional. I've priced frames out locally and they are very competitive with their pricing. As to the time it takes for them to complete a project, I've gotten jobs back in 48 hours. It depends on how busy they are. Thankfully for them, lots of people agree with me and there are times when it takes alittle longer to get my project back from them. I have never smelled cigarette smoke in there ever. The gallery is clean, airy,and open. The work that they've done for me has been hung at the Winter Antiques Show in January in New York City. It's hung in my home and the homes of numerous other people. Can't recommend them enough!
