Il Fuoco Della Fotografia:
Day 4 of our week in Rome. Just as we got off the Metro at Cavour, heading to St. Peter in Chains church, I noticed that the SDHC memory cards in my camera had filled up. So I yelped, of course. Not too many places nearby, but we headed to the first place on the list. That turned out to be a fine business with editing bays and studio space but no supplies. I was sent downstairs where the kind proprietress had me sit down while she called someone asked if they had what I needed then look it up on the computer for me so I could see the map and it was just around the corner about three blocks away. All told, the shop was about a half mile from the Cavour station and still pretty close to the historic center of the city. The gentleman in the store spoke great English, good enough, even, to have a brief and friendly political discussion. He was very helpful and had several choices for what I needed at prices I didn't faint over. He did tell me that there were not very many photo supply stores within the city of Rome. It's just a little hole in the wall but he seem to have a pretty good supply of basic needs and also cameras lenses filters and even film in this digital day and age. The shop was not Yelp-listed, so I promised to get him on the map. Pics of the exterior to follow. read more
