This summer, we were on a road trip and took the ferry across from Port Angeles to Victoria for a few hours. This was a perfect stop before lunch, and this time we did a self guided tour of the interior. Super friendly people work here. The ticket seller was very nice, the greeter inside the castle set us on our way, and even the souvenir shop lady was exceptionally nice. Maybe its just that they're Canadian? Or maybe they're just...nice. lol Be advised that there's a lot of stairs to tackle on this tour. This is a perfect place to see if you only have a few hours in Victoria. We took a cab from the ferry dock and back later. It was a short ride so not too expensive. Crowd wasn't tooo bad at the time we went in July.

He also balances the tour (about six stops) with anecdotes about the history of Victoria and how immigration built a food culture - adding immensely to the experience. Me and my vegetarian spouse both loved the tour. Highlights included an awesome and hearty meat ball and an Anjali Spring Roll with an amazing peanut sauce. You'll definitely feel full after the tour so plan on a lighter lunch and dinner!

This was actually a very fun spot for people/groups of all ages. Definitely a family friendly…read moreoption, and cute for couples as well. The only downside if you're coming as a family ... is that you'll be spending hundreds of dollars for about two-three hours of activity (most of that time is spent waiting in two lines). Price aside though, the views are beautiful, it's not overly crowded, and everything does feel high quality. The treewalk is beautiful and the alternative return route feels like a gentle, quiet hike through nature. For those two lines, one is for the glass box at the top floor (purely a photo opp spot as you'd get better views outside of the box) and the second is for the slide down (FUN, terrifying to me, but a must). There was a food area including one airstream trailer that served floats and soft serve/ice cream (I forget what exactly) which was pretty fun and tasty. There's another airstream trailer at the entrance by the gift shop that sold coffee and other desserts (I think). Parking was easy. The drive to get here could be part of the adventure. I felt like the cost was worthwhile!

On the way off the dock we ran into the John T. with Victoria Pedicab Co. who offered us a scenic tour of Victoria and the opportunity to do a little shopping. We figured what the hell, it's more interesting than Uber. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation. John was personable and interesting, friendly and engaging. We got to see all the highlights of the beautiful city, plus the history and stories that went along with it. The historic neighborhoods, the beautiful city park, parliament, and China Town. John stopped at cool places for photos & offered to take pics for us. He also stopped by great shops where we could grab those last minute gifts for family. As the sun went down, he offered a blanket to keep us warm and made sure we saw the magnificent sunset. When it was all over, we felt like we had a decent knowledge of Victoria, and we had a new friend in Canada. If your cruise ship stops in Victoria, I highly recommend taking a trip with the pedicabs, especially if the weather is great. It's well worth your time.

Nate took us past some amazing houses, and shared his love of the island and city while steering us into the city. We had a blast with him. It was something different. The wine tour was to three different wineries that were all diverse in unique in its own way. We also utilized the shuttle service from the airport as well as to the ferry terminal. Alan's driving is soo smooth that those who have severe lit motion sickness didn't feel a thing in the giant shuttle. Alan was always on time for pick up and flexible for drop offs. I cannot express how easy it was working with this tour company. Also a shout out to Fatih who drove us to the ferry terminal. His driving was smooth and conversation was great! He picked us right outside our ship, took us to the Castle before anyone else was there, the Government House gardens & Christ Church Cathedral. Followed by a scenic drive to Butchart Gardens; where we spent the rest of the afternoon. He also arranged for the tea and lunch service at the gardens using his member discount. It was completely wonderful! The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. We did offer for him to have lunch with us but he insisted on waiting so we could have some time to ourselves. After tea, he walked around the gardens with us, happily taking pictures and giving us interesting info. At our request, he dropped us off at the Fairmont Empress around 4pm. We walked around a bit and then took a cute little water taxi back to the ship. I highly recommend this tour if you have 2-3 people and want to get a lot done in a short amount of time. Kevin is very friendly and knowledgeable. Oh and of course, the car is amazing! We'd love to tour with Kevin again in the future!
