Brenda our guide through a walking tour in Chinatown was amazing! So knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We enjoyed all the food and stories that went with each stop. Highly recommend this tour to other visitors to Victoria. Come hungry.

Me and my mother went on the tour an had an excellent time. The tour guide, Michaela, was very informal and all of the food that we tasted was incredible. In fact, I have a food blog and wrote an article explaining just how incredible of an experience it was. https://the-s-word.net/food-events-and-dining/downtown-victoria-food-tour

Had a wonderful experience with Michaela as our guide! From getting to know everyone to sharing about her history as well as the food, things to do, and local history- she was a great guide! From local wines, tacos, mediterranean Halloumi cheese salad, to macarons, little chocolates and more... each stop was unique and delicious.

Skip the traditional British tea and sign up for this food tour! In 2 hours, you get to experience 8 awesome, authentic, and local eateries in Victoria. Not where the tourists eat, where locals eat. Bonnie our tour guide was super knowledgeable about the town and about the food. Each restaurant was friendly and gracious in hosting the tour. The food was delicious! I would go back to each of the stops again on my own.

I can't give this tour enough stars! We came down from Nanaimo for something different to do - it surpassed our expectations. Our guide, Jo, was outstanding: knowledgeable, considerate and personable. We walked to interesting eateries we'd never otherwise have found, learning fun local facts and folklore along the way. The food choice was excellent! Highly recommend the tour for both tourists and island locals.

We stopped at Bao, in Chinatown and had delicious pork belly bao, and Hoyne beer!

MaryLou was amazing! My family was on an Alaskan Cruise, and our last stop was Victoria. My husband, his brother, my two sisters, and I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Historic Downtown Victoria Food Tour. We were able to walk from Ogden Point, where our cruise docked to the 2% Jazz Coffee shop. (It does take about 45 minutes.) We started the tour off with the smoothest Americano I've ever had, aboslutely delicious. They roast their own beans in house so the place smells amazing, and you can see them running the roaster. After our coffee we wandered into the Hudsan Market to enjoy a couple of samples, I don't want to spoil the deliciousness but Indian poutine rocks, and I've never had a flakier pie crust. Then we were off to Chinatown where we got some more history about the area, the time capsule buried under the gate, and the brick buildings that line the street. Our first dessert stop was in Chinatown at and adorable French patisserie. Then onward through little allies and around the Market Square to a tiny space that's held many businesses over the years. The shop looks like it's about 12 square feet total! And lastly, save room for fudge! This was a great two hour walking and eating tour. We didn't need lunch because the samples are so plentiful. MaryLou was a fantastic guide and it was a great way to get a little history about the city, get the lay of the land, and enjoy some really yummy eats. Go on this tour, it's absolutely worth it.

Eat, drink, listen & learn.

Every wanted to be a 'tourist' in your own town? I highly recommend it! There's always a chance you may learn something new. Or maybe you're a visitor and you want to cut to the chase and hit up the spots that only the locals would know of. Bonnie and Alexis are your guide on a variety of culinary tours around town that focus on local, home grown eat & drink establishments. You'll get to sample some sweet delights, slurp up some black gold, nibble on some delightful and surprising dishes, and learn a little history too! We had the chance to take the "Mornings in Mount Pleasant". tour which included a stop into Gene cafe for a divine Cappuccino, French Made Baking for their unforgettable Macarons, Kafkas for a sample of both the Honduran pour-over as well as the Guatemalan iced coffee & as an added bonus a gluten free chocolate mint cookie! Then to Barneys for a 'special' beverage which in my case was something called "Sweet Cheeks" a strawberry and basil (mojito styled) mixed drink that was like a little island vacation in a glass, then onto JJbean to wake back up again, where we were escorted to the private room (who knew they even had one?!) to sample their french press of the day and freshly baked muffins -and lastly but certainly not the least was the Five Point where we sampled a Tuna Tataki dish called Tuna Bites. Delicately seared Tuna cubes dotted in fresh peppers & spice, flash grilled and served with a side of sprouts lightly misted with miso. Not your average pub fare, that was. This tour was both fun and interesting and these girls bring their years of hospitality skills to the table to share their tidbits of local information. They're genuine, down to earth and a pleasure to meet.

Besides the lemonade, we had a fantastic meatball, terrific spring roll, Filipino pastry, delicious Korean fried chicken, and a top quality chocolate. We did NOT need to buy dinner that night, either. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Easily 5+ stars. We'd repeat this tour next time we come. Thanks Andy!!

The curated food samples around the market were well-organized, generously portioned, and delicious. I highly recommend this tour for both locals and tourists alike. I am a local Seattleite. I did this tour for the first time over 10 years ago and was pleased that it wasn't exactly the same places we stopped at before. Plus, it reminded me to go back and support businesses that I had forgotten about and to continue exploring the market and to come back often because this place is truly a gem and worthy of our support for being 100% local and run by small business owners. Today was a perfect afternoon well spent :-)

I realize folks are from all over and might not understand, but you can make it optional! It would have made me feel more comfortable in the group as a non-binary person.

Chef Tracy is an absolute rockstar. She kicked off the day with a walking tour of Pike Place Market, weaving in local history while introducing us to some of the best vendors and food artisans in the city. Thanks to her incredible connections, we got to sample fresh bites and meet the people behind the food. And just when we thought it couldn't get better--she got me in to catch a fish. Yes, a real fish thrown at me in the middle of the market with a crowd watching. Talk about pressure--but I caught it! We brought all the ingredients back to Atrium Kitchen, rolled up our sleeves, and cooked an incredible meal together. The vibe was relaxed but energized--everyone was hands-on and having an absolute blast. Dinner was next‑level. We had a private dinner inside Pike Place Market after hours--total bucket‑list vibes. As a vegan, I was blown away by the care Chef Tracy took with my meal. She prepared this salad, elegant broccolini-chimichurri (actually something fancier than plain broccoli) and perfectly roasted potatoes--they were even better than most vegan meals I've had at restaurants. The rest of the team raved about the halibut, ribs, and other dishes that looked absolutely amazing. If you're visiting Seattle--or even if you live here--Atrium Kitchen at Pike Place Market is a MUST-DO. It's perfect for team outings, special celebrations, or just doing something different and utterly memorable. Chef Tracy makes you feel like a VIP from start to finish. Absolutely 10/10!

Did the gastown food tour with Dina…read more The good: -Dina was super awesome. Friendly, funny and super attentive kind spirit (I sound like such a hippie). We told her we were planning a picnic for the next day and not only did she tell us about Grandville Island and it's amazing market, she handwrote us a shopping list on what items to get for an amazing picnic(it was delish). - The food was awesome. We visited four places and each was pretty good. My favorite was the Meat and Bread sandwich. As someone who is trying to give up pork (and failing miserably) I just want to point out that two our of the four places had pork dishes, so if you have dietary needs/preference, let them know ahead of time so they can pick items to accommodate you (they partner with 8 different restaurants so there are plenty of food options). I also loved that many of the restaurants they choose partner with local farms. - My hubbie and I were lucky that we had an awesome group and everyone was super friendly and lovely. The bad: None! Final verdict: Will try to downtown when (not if) I return to Vancouver.

Carlos, the owner, was nice enough to let a friend and me join the Gastown tour at the last minute. We met our guide, Cassandra, as well as the other two people on the tour at the Waterfront train station. Our first stop - Rogue Kitchen and Bar - was at the station and then we walked several blocks down to "Blood Alley" for a "wine and cheese" tasting at Salt. That was followed by Caribbean cuisine at Calabash, and finally, modern Chinese food at Bambuddah. All of the tastings were paired with alcoholic beverages, or non-alcoholic drinks upon request. 1. Rogue Kitchen and Bar 3 local beers - red truck lager, fat tug IPA, and blue buck pale ale Fried Brussels sprouts Bang bang chicken Lobster mac and cheese 2. Salt tasting room Three wines or specialty fizzes (orange, guava, and black currant) Goat cheese, organic honey, sicilian salami, dried cherries, corned beef, and mustard. 3. Calabash Ginger beer, rum, nutmeg cocktail Chicken skewers, veggie/chicken/beef patties, plantain chips 4. Bambudda Tsui Hang which is a cold tea made with Budweiser syrup, iron buddha tea, and moondog bitters Chicken skin, duck bun and cherries, and rice pudding with banana puree, pineapples, and almonds. Although we had a nice time and great company, this tour wasn't the best value. It was very expensive - $105 CAD - as far as food tours go and there was little more to this 3-hour tour than just going from place to place to eat (and drink). Most tours include more information on the surrounding area, discussion (or tasting) of the local cuisine, and perhaps a chance to meet the chefs or to learn about the restaurants. Also, I think that the price should be cheaper for people who do not partake in the alcoholic offerings. So, -1 star for the value and -1 star for the guide.

Not only did we get to sample many different yummy "bites" within the market, we also got to learn about the rich history and culture of how the market came about. It gave me such a deeper respect for this place. Booking this tour is fairly easy to do online. On the day of you are to meet at the designated location to meet your guide. If there are any issues you can contact the owner Mark directly and they have a 100% money back if you're not satisfied. If this isn't good customer service then I don't know what is. Our guide for the day was Chip. Chip was friendly, funny, and engaging. You can tell he loves his job and is proud to share his knowledge about the market. He remembered all of our names and I felt this made it seem so much more personal than a tour. If there is a large group you will be provided audio headsets but since we were only a group of 6 that day we were able to hear him just fine without them. You can tell there has been a lot of thought put into this tour and I applaud the company for such a wonderful job well done. Not only were the bites we got to sample so delicious, they were a nice variety ranging from the the famous Pike Place Chowder to Elleno's Greek Yogurt to Texas BBQ to Mexican tacos to Paris-inspired crepes to fresh local and seasonal fruits, just to name a few. And let's talk about the servings. They feed a generous amount so that by the end of the tour we were actually full. Totally bang for your buck! This is a great activity for tourists and locals alike to spend an afternoon at the market.
