I have been holding steadfastly to a cracked and weathered iphone4 that contains a US plan that angers my husband each time he receives the bill (oops). It was time. So finally on this fateful day in which I met an old pal for lunch down the way at Hawley Arms (and consequently Camden Town station is closed from 1pm-530pm on Sundays to prevent overcrowding...hmmm) --- I found myself face-to-face with a Vodafone store. I took a deep breath, walked in and was helped immediately by Denzel. The process took about 25 minutes, but was entirely pleasant. I basically knew the plan and phone I wanted and let him know as much. He took care of everything else, made polite chit chat and 25 minutes later I was out the door with a ready-to-use, fully functional, United Kingdown iphone5. Denzel, thank you. For restoring not only my street cred...but my faith in any telecommunications company in this country. Well done, sir...well done! This branch obviously gets a bit nuts, but not overly so. It's just far enough away from the station to not be insane. The sales people I encountered were all very pleasant and were dealing with the group of children TOUCHING every phone pretty well. Better than I would've. *24 month contract scores you a free 16GB iphone5. I had to put down a 100GBP deposit due to my just relocating here and not having much history, but I will get that back after 6 payments. It's about 47GBP/month. *Euro traveller (main reason I went with Vfone): 3GBP/day that you are in the Eurozone allows you to use all of your internet, text and phone calling from your normal plan. TBD, I will report back. *SWEET, I have a new iphone. Happy day!

The manager greeted me and made me feel attended to and looked after even though the store was busy with a queue of customers. The adviser was calm, polite, understanding and extremely helpful - everything you want from good customer service. I had a lot of questions, he was happy to answer and we had a laugh in the process.. His colleague stepped in and helped with some more technical issues - I use Windows platform and it's not often I see advisers with actual knowledge on the handsets. It was also clean and tidy and didn't have that "we have used the same hoover for a century" smell.

By contrast my experience of JOHN, a member of staff at the Clapham Junction store, was far from satisfactory. He was extremely rude and accused me of having an "attitude" when in fact he was the one with the attitude problem. He is in dire need of customer service training. I have already made a formal complaint via the Vodafone website. The person I dealt with via that route was particularly helpful. I certainly would not recommend using the Clapham Junction branch of Vodafone.
