This is a fantastic little local business that redefines the concept of "shopping small" by offering a wide array of locally made products - everything from handmade clothing to soaps and creams. The next time you have a present to buy for someone, the Purple Cow should be the first stop you make. Speaking of presents, they even have a section of birthday and special occasion cards, which makes it an easy one stop shop for all your gifting needs. While a lot of the inventory tends to lean toward the yogi-earthy-crunchy set, they have a great section of toys and stuffed animals for the young and young at heart, plus a whole lot of classy jewelry that's also made by local artisans. The Purple Cow is a must visit if you find yourself in Wakefield, RI, and need to purchase a memorable gift for a loved one, or simply just want to browse around a truly wonderful small local business!

She has an adorable kitten (Miley?) that keeps her company at the shop. I've enjoyed exchanging stories with her. What a wonderful community she has cultivated too! You have the option to spend dollars earned (like merchandise credit) or be paid by check. New consigners should make an appointment.
