She keeps a cool head and always has a huge smile on her face, I felt as if I'd known her for years after the very first meeting! She helped every step of the way, from planning, to suggesting vendors like the DJ and officiant, to helping with set-up and adding her own little touches to the tables. On the day, Lindy helped calm me down when I was nervous, kept everyone in touch among the two parties when we were getting ready, but while she worked she stayed so under the radar, quietly and almost unseen just cleaning up and making sure everything was running smoothly; I cannot sing Lindy's praises enough! The venue itself is sublime - rustic, beautiful, intimate but open and with plenty of space for any party. We had around 50 guests which is way below capacity but the way Lindy and her team arranged the tables made it feel just right. For a fairly cold evening (January wedding), the fire pit and the two heaters they provided were most welcome! We even had a most welcome and blessed visit from site cat Ninja who was a big hit! Everything was just utterly perfect, all our guests said this was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. Riders/students are either assigned a small, big, fast, or slow walking horse, depending on the child's needs. Kids just fall in love with their horse instantly! Students learn their numbers, letters, colors and so much more!! The instructors and volunteers help the riders improve their mobility as well, by doing streches and doing different postions on the moving horse. It helps their muscles improve and be able to move more. They also get to practice their speaking skills. Everytime the student comes back, you see the improvement in them. The staff is the best. Some riders even grow friendships with them.

My 11-year-old son attended Rawhide Ranch for a one-week summer camp. As part of the camp's policy,…read morechildren do not have access to electronics or direct communication with parents during their stay. Prior to camp, we arranged a simple system where he could signal me through a snack purchase if he needed help. Early on the third day, he used that signal. I called the camp and did not receive a response. After approximately eight hours, I called again and requested to speak with the camp director, I was eventually connected with the camp director, who indicated there had been an issue earlier that day involving my son and wrong medication being given. After insisting, I was allowed to speak with my son. He was clearly distressed and informed me that he had been given the wrong medication that morning. Instead of his usual over-the-counter allergy medication, he was given a high-dose antidepressant not prescribed to him and not intended for a child his age. According to the information provided to me, staff at the health office realized the error and attempted to have him self induce vomiting with a spoon, (he was instructed to stick the spoon down his throat), which was unsuccessful. They then contacted poison control for guidance. At no point during this process was I notified. After speaking with my son, I decided to pick him up immediately. When I arrived, I found communication from staff to be limited, and I was unable to get clear or detailed information about the incident despite asking direct questions. I requested to speak with the camp director, who eventually met with me. During that interaction, I found his demeanor to be notably nonchalant given the circumstances. The situation--a child being given the wrong medication and the parent not being notified--was presented in a way that did not reflect the level of concern I would have expected. When I attempted to ask for clarification and express concern about what had happened, the conversation became extremely tense. There was a clear difference in how seriously the situation was being viewed, and the discussion escalated into a heated verbal exchange. Given the lack of clear communication and the response to what I consider a serious safety issue, I made the decision to withdraw my son from the camp that same night. Following the incident, I contacted the camp multiple times. I was initially told that a refund would not be provided, though I was offered a credit for a future summer. After further communication, I did receive a refund. I also attempted to reach out to members of the organization's leadership to share concerns about the incident. This experience was extremely concerning, particularly given the seriousness of a medication error involving a child and the lack of timely parent notification.

Where I board my horse is very important to me. When I started my search, 2 veterinarians told me…read morethey board at Del Rio. After reading a magazine article (.http://www.ridingmagazine.com/riding_onlinemag/articles/2011_05/delrio.htm) I visited Del Rio. and have been here since July. Pluses Owner lives on site. They feed 3 x a day and use good quality hay. My horse is a MO Foxtrotter that needs a gaited trainer. All licensed trainers are allowed on site. My trainer, who knows more than I do, thinks this place is great. Closeness to home from Oceanside is 15 minutes. I dont want to have to travel far or I would consider Del Mar. Property is gated. also very important to me. ( the facility next door had 3 horses escape and killed on the road) Very nice turnout with grass. Some stables had no pasture and this was key for me. I want my horse to be able to eat grass(. the most pleasurable thing a horse wants to do is eat grass) and this keeps my horse happy and calm. In the past month, 3 boarders with multiple horses moved into homes with stables, so there is space at Del Rio. the boarding rates are very fair. Minuses. no trails. You have to trailer 10 minutes to Guajolme or Margarita River. Del Rio does have a stream on property for water training and they also have a mountain that is steep and for me, a bit scary but great for that type of training. Currently. about 2/3 or boarders are Western and 1/3 english. As I see in most facilities, everyone is very nice. I've visited most of the barns in this area including Vista. Compared to the other places, you should put Del Rio on your list to see.

I was able to purchase online and text a number to schedule my rider Unfortunately, our first lesson was rained out for a few weeks. Despite the circumstances I was still given a courtesy text about the rain and rescheduling for the next week. Excellent and timely communication--a big plus for me! Our first lesson was with Vicky and she was great! After arriving about 20 minutes early as requested, my daughter and I learned why they need to brush the horse first along with a few other things that was good to know. Helmets are available for use as well. Vicky was excellent in communicating with my daughter the entire time and listened when she spoke--another plus for me! The lesson was short enough to keep my daughters attention and long enough for her to ride and have fun. I feel we will continue our lessons here and look forward to working with some of the other trainers! Grounds are beautiful and the horses look happy here. I highly recommend Sundance to anyone looking for a place to take lessons.
