I messaged Valley Garden Services informing them of my overgrown backyard needing serviced. They arrived within my requested hours and were friendly. They damaged my two gutter downspouts and left without notice because of a supposed swarm of wasps. I crutched out there afterwards and no swarm was found. The next day I had the area inspected and all my plant buckets moved. No swarm was ever found. Here is the message I received from them before crutching out to inspect my backyard: "Sorry we left, unfortunately we couldn't finish the areas near the bucket due to safety concerns. Me and my worker, who so happens to be my cousin, are deathly allergic to wasps, and a large swarm was building."

They arrive once a week, right on schedule, and mow, trim edges, and clean up before they leave. They are not only fast, they do a beautiful job on the lawn without destroying plants and landscaping. The employees are very polite and the owner will answer any questions you have. Green Blades also does our blow-outs in the Fall and turns on the sprinkling system in the Spring. (something of which our property management co. failed to inform us...glad Green Blades was on top of it!!) GB's owner arrived today to make sure that our sprinkling system "zones" were set properly and did a test run for the sprinklers. Not only is he helping us maintain the yard while we are living here, he is also protecting the owner's property. Incredible service! Other services they offer include: lawn fertilization, sod rejuvenation, weeding, cleanup, lawn winterization and snow removal/de-icing. Their service area covers the whole valley. They did not fulfill their commitment , leaving our yard with significant overgrowth and weeds. Only after several calls did they indicate that they are too busy and would not be able to continue to fulfill on their commitment. The issue however was that we paid them in advance for the work in the amount of about $100. They indicated that a check was in the mail for the money we had paid in advance. That was May 2014. To date we have not seen a check and all calls to them go unanswered. Its one thing to go back on your commitment leaving us scrambling to find someone to maintain our lawn. Its another to keep money that does not belong to you. What's surprising is that this business is on Angie's list...just this example alone tells me that Angies List, who's business model is to filter out services that are good and reliable, failed miserably on this case. I would not recommend prepaying or engaging in any commitments with Green Thumb and Lawncare and Landscape.
