I have been bringing my knives here to keep them sharp since I made my first santoku purchase. Let me say that it is the best knife I ever bought and I have not found anything better. So if you in the market for amazing. This is the place for steel! read more

I needed some Japanese steel sharpened and walked in without an appointment. 5 minutes later I was out the door with a promised time of completion the next day at an extremely inexpensive price. I was doubtful my knives would reach the same level of sharpness as before but everything I was promised came to fruition. Price, friendliness of service, quality of workmanship and adherence to schedule all receive 5 stars. I will be returning annually not only for my sharpening needs, but also any new knives that need to be purchased read more

We tried having our knives sharpened at a place near our home and it was a waste of time and money. After reading the reviews on yelp.com we tried The Knife Shop. Our knives were done perfectly and are now super sharp. We couldn't be more pleased with the craftsmanship and quality -- all done while we waited and at a very fair price. We talked at length with the owner and learned so much about knifes and how to care for them. Although this store is out of the way for us we will continue to be loyal customers and will recommend tThe Knife Shop to everyone. read more

This was an awesome experience. So kind and helpful. Knives are like new. I even got a new knife while there. Staff is so knowledgeable.

I hate to write a bad review, especially with all the good ones here, and I was disappointed I have been using the knife house since when they were on Thomas and then move to Indian school have used him for many years and always been satisfied until today when I went to pick up my knives and I was charge extra for chipping which I was never informed of have never been charged for it in the pass I'm very disappointed and let them know my disappointment.I also let them know that this was dishoneston practice of not letting your customers know that you were adding these extra charges without letting them know before hand. For these reasons I would not recommend the knife House. Word to the wise beware of these people are dishonest and trying to make an extra buck on you without letting you know. read more

I took three folding knives in and they did a great job sharpening them up. $5 each and a one day turnaround was appreciated. Staff was friendly and not hesitant to talk to me about the process. Highly recommended. read more

If you cook and you don't know about this place, you are missing out on the finest knife sharpening I have ever encountered having lived in ten states. They are masterful, friendly, and just enjoyable to visit. I love the chef's gear in the store, although I am far from that caliber. However, I am a very good cook and love my knives sharp. I am also very frugal and this is the best deal in town. I am sure I will become a regular. read more

I read about this store a couple of weeks ago in the Republic and it caught my eye. The store specializes in Japanese chef knives. I do a good amount of cooking at home and I have been shopping for some new knives and get some tips on how to take care of them better so they are painfully dull. Well I went there last week and I met the owner, Eytan. He was a chef for a while and opened his shop recently. He helped me pick out a few knives that would best suit my needs and showed me how to care for them. The store has so many types and they were all beautiful. He had knives in all price ranges, so I was very appreciative of his advice and honesty. This was a great find, much better selection than Sur La Table or Williams Sonoma. read more

I love this place! Reasonable pricing for professional service. My knives are in investment and Corey keeps them sharp which makes my work so much more fun! read more

I just used my santuko knife (one of 3 that I took to be sharpened) and could not believe how well it performed, even on tomatoes. THE KNIFE SHOP was so reasonably priced and best of all, the turnaround time was wonderful. I will recommend them to everyone. read more

The only place I'll go in the valley. Most people here only mention the knives/knife sharpening, so I'm happy to say they carry a lot of other products as well. I've bought a Messermeister knife bag here, a japanese mandolin, several aprons for work, and just today I stopped in to buy some new chef pants and discovered that they now carry women's clothing too, and even have a sample in every size/style and a dressing room to try things on! I love the new pants I got. They have a lot of accessories like knife blocks and such as well. You won't be disappointed coming here. read more

Wow. I went here today with a couple dozen knives that I needed sharpened. The staff was super friendly and knowledgable. They did a tremendous job and got all my knives razor sharp. I would suggest this place for all your knife needs. They specialize in Japanese knives and a chef would be in heaven here. They can also sharpen your cutco (even serrated) and henkels without voiding warranty. Worth the drive drive from anywhere in the valley. I will be back ! read more

Brought in an assortment of knives - a couple good and others just cheap, old stuff. My husband brought in his 40 year old buck knife. They were polite, fast and did a great job. Super sharp. The guy even sanded my ragged wooden handles. Prices were excellent. Definitely the place to go to get your knives sharpened or purchase a beautiful handmade chopping block. read more

While I don't have professional experience working as a chef, I enjoy cooking at home and was in search of a quality Japanese chef's knife for this purpose. I was immediately greeted by the staff and given expert guidance with my knife selection. Overall, I felt welcomed and supported through my shopping experience and, most importantly, I love the knife I purchased! If you have any interest in cooking, you should visit the Phoenix Knife House. read more

A+++ I love this place. Will bringing my knives back every 6-12 months! Staff were attentive and efficient. Very nice selection of knives to buy. read more

This is the best place to shop for knives. The owner Eytan works the counter and is very knowledgeable and helpful. I had taken a 'knife skills' class and learned a bit about knives so I wanted to get something nicer for the kitchen. We like to shop local. We were going to look at other stores, like Bed Bath and Beyond and didn't even get there. It was a joy to learn and shop there. I wouldn't shop anywhere else! read more

I brought in 5 Wustoff's. Only one passed the paper test. Not happy with sharpness. will not go back or recommend regardless of price or speed. I would have gladly paid triple for razor sharp edges read more

Just returned from my first visit to the Phoenix Knife House...that is a place that I could drop some serious money!! Lots of great info and they took care to answer all my questions and were quick to point out a huge flaw with one of the knives that I brought in for sharpening. They probably saved me a couple of fingers!! Thanks guys, I appreciate your shop and info, and I will be by soon to pick up some new toys! read more

I hate to write a bad review, especially with all the good ones here, and I was so excit e about this place. But boy, was I disappointed. I walked in, and no one was to be found. I sat in the store for 20 minutes before I was helped. Someone even came out of the back, looked at me and smiled, and went back in while I was waiting to be helped. And when i finally got some service, I asked (just out of curiosity) if they had any straight razors for sale. The guy said he had quite a few actually, so I asked about a specific brand, and the rep said "I don't like that brand, I can show you another." This was fine, I figured he didn't carry it. I asked if he did carry it, and he said yes. (Ok...) I asked to see what he had, and he refused. A little strange, I thought. However, this is not the reason I write a bad review, this place does kitchen stuff, mostly. I told him "I shave with straight razors, and I heard this was an excellent place to get them sharpened, how's much would it cost, and could you do it?" And he said "that depends. What do you plan in using it for?" Um... Shaving. As is the purpose for the straight razor. Now at this point there are a lot of people judging me by this review. After all, to place does mostly kitchen stuff. However, personally, if the product is good, or even adequate, I couldn't care less about service. So here goes my experience with the product. I went down there to pick up 2 straight razors I had sharpened. I was told the razor sharpener also shaves with a straight razor, and does a wicked good job. So I was looking forward to getting it back. I arrived, and I tested the razors on my arm hair, and the "hanging hair test," both of which the razors are supposed to pass with flying colors to be safe to shave with. Neither razor could even pluck the hairs off my arm. I politely brought it up, and the representative apologized, and said if I wanted it sharpened again, they'd be more than happy to do that. I asked if they wouldn't mind, and the rep obliged. Came down later in the day to pick them up, and they we're sharoened. Barely. It still wouldn't cut the hair on my arm. And when I came to pick them up, there was another rep who tried to make me pay again for the re-sharpening. Ultimately, I explained my story, and she let it go. But in the end, I doubted myself, said its just buyers remorse, of some form. And I tried to shave with it and it wouldn't cut my facial hair. At all. I would up sharpening it myself, and ultimately I gave them nearly $30 (I also bought a cheap Chinese razor for shits and giggles, which wasn't up to par either, but hey, it was only like 10 bucks and makes a cool pocketknife.) and didn't get anywhere near a quality product. Sorry knife house, I hate to do this. read more

I was in there today to get my knives sharpened. They did a great job and have a selection of beautiful knives, a few of which I would have bought, but the attitude of the woman working there turned me off. She proceeded to insult my knives and tell me what crap they were, as if their mere presence was polluting the store. I didn't ask her opinion of them, I just wanted them sharpened. They weren't high quality knives like the ones for sale in the store, but they do have great sentimental value to me since they had belonged to my grandfather and father. Her presumptuousness and arrogance has cost the store my business. Perhaps it was the same person Pete J. met. read more

My eyes light up as I walk in!!!!! The guy did a SUPERB job sharpening my knives in less than 10 minutes. We just recommended our friends to check this place out! If I can give 10 stars, I WOULD! read more

We moved from Chandler back to New York two years ago. Last week I found myself back in AZ for my son's wedding. I was with three other avid cooks and invited them to bring their favorite knives to my favorite "knife whisperer". Needless to say, Eytan is still the best thing that ever happened to sharp steel. If there is a better recommendation than bringing knives 2,000 miles to have them sharpened by a real pro I can't think of it. Thanks Eytan. I have no more sons to get married in AZ but I will look for another excuse to get there and bring you my knives. In the meanwhile I will order knives online from you whenever I need more. read more

These guys did an outstanding job sharpening my knives at an incredibly reasonable price. One of them, my favorite Misono chef's knife, had to have the tip reshaped after an inlaw managed to drop it; the guys at Phoenix Knife house had it fixed & good as new in just a few minutes. I was so pleased that I bought 2 more knives before I left! read more

These guys know how to treat customers. My knife was sharpened immediately while I waited for $3. It's sharper now than when it was new. It was a 45 minute drive from my home to Phoenix Knife House, but well worth the trip. When I need additional cutlery this will be where I go first. read more

This place is great! I brought in 6 knives in need of sharpening and repair due to chips and uneven surfaces. 24h and $30 later, it's like I have a whole new set of knives. I am so glad to have found you! read more

My knives have needed sharpening for ages. Finally this morning as I was hacking my way through an apple I could take it no more. I went online thinking I would see if there was even a place close by that sharpened knives. Within a minute I had found Phoenix Knife Shop, and within an hour my knives were as sharp as new and I was happier than I had been in ages. These guys are very friendly, helpful, and quick! What is more the price is pretty unbelievable I think, $18.00 for six kitchen knives of varying sizes. I cannot recommend Phoenix Knife House highly enough and will definitely be a returning customer! Thank you for making my day! :) read more
