Jesse was quick to respond and we set us an appointment to bring my knives to him and wait while he did his work. He is set up in the garage of his home and we were blown away by the organization and professional set up Jesse has! It was a tad of a drive but this is our new place for sharpening! Jesse is extremely knowledgeable and was a delight to talk with. He had our knives done in about 20 minutes and was meticulous to details! Fair price for the 5 knives he sharpened! I entered the store and patiently waited while the clerk more or less "hung out" with his friends, discussing butterfly knives, like teenagers. When the clerk finally managed to tear himself away from the deep conversation about how girls who carry knives are hotter, I inquired about a knife bag. I was informed that the ONLY knife bag they had was a very expensive, and very large model. I was told "We usually have 8 or 9 bags but we're out. This bag is the only one we have." Way to pemanently lose a potential customer. I'll spend more and go to The Chef Shop or Sur la Table.

I was tempted to fix it myself, however, there are so many versions that I was afraid of getting the wrong one. I reached out on Yelp to several gunsmiths, but they were either too busy, too expensive, not interested, or wanted me to wait over a month. Their prices were also too high! Then, I got a message from Badlands Adventure Haven that was upbeat & inviting. Brennan, the gunsmith, not only said he could fix it immediately, but he gave me a price that was quite reasonable. I'm glad that I did not try to fix it myself. The replacement parts are highly specialized and there are at least 3 versions for the particular model of my pistol. Brennan knew exactly which version would work and ordered the right one. He also applied a special adhesive to the screws so they wouldn't come loose from heavy firing. I watched him do everything using professional gunsmithing tools & a special vice made just for guns. After about 20 minutes, I left with a feeling of complete satisfaction. I might also add that Brennan is quite amiable, highly professional, & true to his word. His ultimate aim is to please. Those who live in the North Phoenix / Glendale / Peoria area are very fortunate to have him nearby. I know that I certainly am. I highly recommend him. PS: His prices are extremely reasonable, as well.
