Some places I've been to - I expected the FBI to raid the place (usually the massages were bad and you can tell it's an inside job) anyways. I wanted just a 60 minute back massage because I was really tense from flying here to visit a friend. We started our day off getting breakfast after he picked me up from the airport. We went to the farmers daughter, honestly I don't know where to start. The corned beef hatch? Delicious yummyyyy altho I prefer my coffee with cream and sugar the coffee smelled so fresh I got it plain. Wasn't too hot so I was able to slug that puppy down. As we were driving back to his apartment I saw this establishment and said "boy I could use a massage" ok I was comfortable walking in. Good sign 1. The options fantastic. The massage? An absolutely wonderful bodywork practitioner. I went to Chris with specific issues that he listened to, was able to identify likely problematic muscle groups and focused the entire session on dealing with just those muscle groups. If you're looking for massage to tackle tough, persistent, or specific musculoskeletal problems that don't seem to be resolving, you can't find a better practitioner. Chris's therapeutic touch for active issues unlocked improved range of motion and strength after just one session and his dedication to teaching and maintenance are giving me the tools I need to maintain that improvement going forward! read more

I bought a living social, and since November, I have been calling to set up an appointment, to no answer and no return calls. I tried to get through to them through their website. It keeps asking me for a name and wont let me submit the information - it may just be me. I just left a message on their FB page. As many of you know I have had a broken right foot and unable to drive, so I really wanted to cash in the Living Social sooner... Nope. Now its expiring on March 6... Dumb luck mine. Its very discouraging... Cant rate the massage, but the customer service has been - non existent... :-( But after finding their FaceBook page, it seems things are looking up. Unfortunately sometimes we need to go through social media to find how to get to the business. Now that they have made contact, and provided information (they also told me that their website is not working for some reason and not allowing information to go through). I look forward to the massage, and updating my review accordingly. I hope they work out as well as I need them too. I bought a groupon for a 90 minute session, Chris was able to schedule me in very quickly. On his site he says texting is the best way to get ahold of him so that's how I scheduled my appointment. He was very prompt in his response. I had my appointment today and felt like he was very knowledgable in his field of work. As someone who strength-trains at the gym four days a week I get knots and can get a lot of muscle tightness, Chris was able to locate my problem areas and do muscle manipulation to fix them. He was very easy going and easy to carry a conversation with. I'm not someone who looks for massage therapy as a form of relaxation but more of a physical therapy type of thing and I feel like that is what he excels in. My overall experience was a positive one and I will definitely be going back, as he recommended. This is not a spa, there are no cucumbers, but if you have issues that you want fixed, this is definitely the place to go. read more

Creepy. No other way to describe it. I've had a lot of massages and no one has ever massaged me on my chest. Told to put my clothes in the laundry basket and walk over to the massage bed. It was only about 10 feet but it just didn't feel right walking across the room half naked. One of those experiences where you ask yourself afterwards why you didn't run at the first creepy sign. read more

Wow...and not in a good way. This guy is weird. Don't waste your money. This wasn't a massage, I don't know what this was other than creepy. Was anything but a massage. Hands are in all the wrong places. Never did he massage my feet or hands or back even, they seemed to be mostly on my chest...yes my chest! From the top, from the bottom, eeew! Dude...no muscles there...WTF!!! When he massaged my legs all he did was pinch my skin, oooww! Doesn't know where the muscle is, kept pinching the same spots...so irritating! Bad, bad, bad! I purchased a 90 minute massage and it was far from a massage as I have come to know massage as an elite athlete. The claim that it was a Swedish massage was misleading as he mostly held my arm out, held my head, and pressed on my hamstrings as he lifted my leg towards my butt. He also spent a lot of time with his hand pressed between my breasts. Nothing overtly sexual, but just a toe over the line of inappropriate. He greeted me by saying he had just taken a nap and when I entered his office and saw his massage table with his Rastafarian blanket on top, I wondered if he had even changed the sheets. He asked me to undress and place my clothes in a plastic laundry basket with his framed diplomas in them. Along all four walls were clutter and trash. Not professional. I felt like it was a waste of my time and money. read more

Showed up 20 minutes late. His working room is not relaxing. There was a lot of clutter and old seltzer water cans scattered about. I asked for just a Swedish massage. I didn't want reiki or MFR. Apparently I wasn't clear. He held my head for 30 min with minimal nerve stimulation, extremities was not adequately done either. There was little to any venous drain or lymphatic drainage done. Having worked as a LMT and having done Alexander and Feldenkrais training I did not find the experience satisfactory. I would not tell a client in general terms 'that you have a lot going on' and not elaborate or offer follow up and/or suggestions for home care. read more

5 Stars for sure!! Chris is friendly and clearly knows his stuff. His office provides not only a calming atmosphere, but it places an emphasis on rehabilitation with all of the exercise equipment and tools. I scheduled a 30 minute evaluation followed by a 90 minute massage, and that was probably the quickest moving two hours of my life. The massage itself was unbelievable, and Chris asked questions to make sure he was doing a good job. As an educated young man who cares about rehabilitating his clients, Chris will always be the first person I call when I need bodywork. read more

I called Chris and set up a 90-minute appointment for an evaluation. I asked him to determine if massage therapy would likely alleviate my scoliosis-related lower back pain and sciatica. Since then I have been back for twice-weekly treatment sessions. Chris did an amazing job at figuring out where my pain was originating from and developing a plan to address it. The treatment is not always pleasant when being performed--realigning one's spine and getting rid of tight muscle knots can be grueling--but I am so much better off than I was before I started seeing him. Within two weeks my sciatic nerve issues had disappeared, and within three months my back pain was 90% gone. Since Chris is a personal trainer as well as a massage therapist, he can suggest exercises to strengthen weak muscles and tell clients what is likely to aggravate and/or improve their situations. He's professional, caring, upbeat and genuinely pleased when he can help someone feel better. Not sure what more a person could ask of him! read more

Chris knows his stuff. He can do anything from relaxation massage if that's what you want (I don't), to deep neuromuscular work which is what I go for. He gets the job done and I come out feeling like he heard and felt what my body needed. Very good job! read more

Don't be turned off by the small space. Chris is a master. I went in for a cupping session - but upon his assessment, ended up with a combo of massage, cupping and some other techniques to relieve my very tight and very sore muscles. He takes his time to find out what your lifestyle is and makes recommendations to keep you maintained and healthy. I'm feeling 100 times better already. I will absolutely be going back in the next week or two to finish up what he started. Chris is exceptionally experienced at what he does. I have never been to a better massage therapist (and this is an understatement) in my entire life. I have chronic and acute injuries to my neck, shoulders, and back - and, as Chris noted the last time I saw him, these areas are not like rock, they are now like steel. Chris is so well versed in a variety of techniques that each massage is entirely different; it is truly a custom experience. I trust Chris's expertise to the point where I will let him do what he thinks that I need. In many cases, he knows better than I do. He is a monthly must! I bought a LivingSocial deal for this place to give to my mother as a present. the deal clearly says a 60-minute deep-tissue or Swedish massage, yet my mother went today and was told that no, it wasn't for that at all, but rather it was for a "holistic healing" session. While I don't doubt that Chris can do all sorts of things, my mom wanted a massage, and i thought i had bought her a massage! She wasn't too upset but I am, because this was false advertising and I feel like she didn't get what I paid for. What a bummer. read more

Great massage. I needed deep tissue work done (I'm a pitcher) and although it was painful (it's supposed to be) my back and arm feel amazing now. I also got the culling done which I had never had done before and that was cool too. They do leave a mark though especially if you have never done it before so beware of that! I purchased a Living Social Deal for 3 90 minute session, like many other people writing reviews did. He reported that he was napping prior to my arrival, and I assume it was on the same table he was about to massage me on, since it was the only place in the room to do that. He did not give me enough time to change and started to walk in, without knocking, when I was still undressing. During the course of the massage he suddenly cracked my back by quickly pressing down on my back. He had not mentioned he was doing it, he just did it. I don't like people cracking any of my body parts, and I definitely did not appreciate it when he did it, I believe he could have seriously injured me. This was not a chiropractic appointment! At the end of the session I mentioned I did not appreciate him cracking my back and he said "well it worked, it cracked your back." My back felt messed up for about a week after that, and I actually was having my husband try to crack it (like I said before, I don't like or let people crack me, including my husband) to make it feel better. I decided to go back again for another session to see if it was better. I mentioned that I did not really feel any improvements from the last session and mentioned that I hold stress in my shoulders and Traps and it would be great if he could work on those. When talking, he was throwing around medical jargon and used at least one word completely inappropriately, which I pointed out to him. I also mentioned that he was using a lot of technical jargon and that a lot of people would not understand what he was talking about, but since my job was in the medical field I could follow what he was doing a very bad job of trying to say. He brushed it off and said that he was only talking like that since he knew I worked in the medical field, which I actually had not told him until after. He decided to spend the majority of this session slowly applying pressure downward on my neck, pressing out toward the shoulder. This hurt like hell. He never once actually tried to massage the muscles and work out the knots I get in my shoulders, just the painful pushing. By the end of the session once I got dressed I pointed out to him that my right shoulder and arm felt very heavy and that I could not lift the arm very well. He said it would get better in a few hours. By the next day it was even worse. I could not lift it without severe pain and could only hold it out to my side for a few seconds. I really thought he had permanently damaged me and was scared. My OT friend looked at my arm for me and said that he had probably worked on the neck too much which had then caused inflammation, which was causing the problems. It took 5 weeks for my arm to return to normal! Needless to say I did not return for the 3rd massage that I had paid for. I was too afraid of what he would do to me. Don't go to him. He throws around a lot of big words to make you think he knows what he is talking about, but he does not. read more
