I ran over road debris on the I45 road construction near Dickinson. This knocked a hole in the exhaust pipe on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Phoenix Auto Repair searched to find a replacement, but the only one available was at a Jeep dealer and cost over $2000. Junkyard dealers were not an option as it is against the law to sell used exhaust systems because of environmental laws. To help me avoid paying such a high price, the excellent welder at Phoenix repaired the hole in my exhaust. It's as good as new. I ended up paying $300. WOW! I love these guys. I was really impressed with Darryl. He was honest with me and honest mechanics are hard to come by when you are a female. They assume that you don't know what you are talking about and most will give you the run around and charge you for stuff that you don't need. I went to him with that I thought the problem was, he confirmed the problem. And actually explained to me what he thought may cause it. I would definitely return. Hopefully not often, but I will return next time I need a mechanic. I have referred friends. I would say the ONLY bad side is he doesn't have weekend hours at all. It makes it difficult when you have minor repairs that need to be done, but don't want to leave the car for a day or two. Ok so started by bringing in for a quote on window repair and AC repair. Window fixed and the AC was next. If you live in the South AC is necessary! Turns out the entire AC needed replaced. This is a big job no doubt. I love that he didn't do any work till talking to me about price first. I have had issues in past they would start working and then I owed for no real work done on vehicle. I now have a working window at a reasonable price. I ALSO have an AC blowing cold air. Ya you can say it. Thank you God for the AC blowing cold!! Ok summer bring on the heat lol. A great big thank you to the mechanic who did the work and to Darryl for working with me on everything. I thought I had a blown engine. Matter of fact I refused to drive my truck to the place, my wife drove it. Darylll and Glenn were great. It turned out to be my catalytic converter that was making the noise I thought was my "blown engine." A new one and a new Computer changed all of that really quick. My oldest son and I took his car to Daryl at Phoenix Auto. He gave us a second opinion on what the car needed versus what the other shop wanted to repair. There was over a two thousand dollar difference as we did not need to replace any oil seals as quoted by the competitor but merely a loose oil sensor gauge was tightened. With my sons savings he got a brake job, alignment, differential repair, a tune up and some interior stuff repaired/replaced. Things that had been weighing on him for a while. My son hit a deer in his car, and there was a lot of damage. I spoke with Darrell over the phone, and decided to tow it to Phoenix Auto Repair. Darrell was up front, and worked hard to keep costs reasonable, and were patient in holding the car for us while we took the time to decide whether to repair the car. We decided to repair it, and it looks like it's former self. It runs like it use to. The car was seriously damaged, but Darrell restored it, while keeping the costs down. Took my Jeep in to have the clutch assembly and brakes replaced. I figured it'd be cheaper to buy the parts myself and just have them install them. They were completely okay with that. While doing the job they called to let me know that the brakes I got weren't the proper ones for the Jeep so I gave them the okay for them to order the proper ones and everything came out great! Don't bother trying to save a bit of money buying the parts, it's not worth the hassle. Darrel will take care of you and prices are great. read more
