Typical strip center pho place but with a menu that offers a wide range of great Vietnamese standards. We really enjoy the pho here - it has a deeper, richer broth than other local pho shops. What really differentiates Pho Number 1 is their expanded menu of great Vietnamese noodle dishes and Banh Mi. The fried noodle dishes are particularly note worthy and definitely worth trying. The ambiance is utilitarian and the service is average, largely due to the lack of English and a decidedly Asian noodle shop blasé approach to customer service. If you can get past those detriments you will find the pho and noodle dishes to be worth the visit. read more

Got the large brisket pho, it was delicious and the brisket was very tender. Service is excellent and ambiance is relaxing. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely return. Give it a try! read more

For a Colorado establishment, the food was pretty good. The large portion size is definitely large, to the point where my 6' partner couldn't finish more than half, which is pretty hefty and a good deal. Broth tasted and looked pretty clean, but was a bit lacking in the portion sizes of the meat included :( there seemed to be about 2-3 pieces of brisket and tripe, so it seemed more noodle than anything. The eggrolls were decent, but not what I'm used to. The sauce was solid, but maybe wish the eggrolls themselves were a deeper color. Overall, would not mind getting again, but would likely look to other pho establishments in the area for greater authenticity and better portioning. read more

4.5 stars - Great spot! The food is really good -- the pho and spring rolls were excellent and priced lower than most other places. The Vietnamese iced coffee is also better than most spots I've tried. There's plenty of seating, with both booths and tables, and the service was quick and friendly. Overall, it's a solid choice in the Springs! Happy eating! read more

Came in for a hot bowl of pho after a long day on Sunday. We were immediately greeted by friendly faces and a beautiful aroma of spices and herbs. We were sat immediately, which felt lucky because the place was busy! I ordered a bowl of pho and my husband ordered bun bo hue. We both loved our food and plan on coming back to try some of their other dishes. We happened to see some of the plates around us and they all looked so good! read more

I ordered beef and brisket pho. The ladies who helped me were extremely warm and kind in helping me. I had planned on ordering just the rare beef, but she suggested the brisket was delicious and I should try it! It WAS delicious! I probably wouldn't order the brisket again because it was quite fatty. Like, half of the brisket was fat. Between the two meats there was 4 ounces of meat total. Because I took it "to go" I actually weighed that out. I've always been curious how much meat they put in. I was there for dinner and for me, that's not enough protein to keep me satisfied for the rest of the night, but it would be a good for a lunch portion. Plenty of noodles. Ingredients were fresh. The broth was extremely tasty! The restaurant itself was kind of... Dark, but the friendliness of the staff and the deliciousness of the food, makes it easy to overlook that. Service was very fast. read more

I cheated on my go to Pho place as I wanted to see if other local places were as good. I stumbled upon Pho#1 The place was packed which is usually a good sign. The menu has a large selection along with a large selection of Boba drinks. We ordered a rare steak Pho and a mixed Bun bowl. I am pretty particular and rate my Pho on 3 criteria; broth, meat, and freshness of the veggies. The broth was ok. It had lots of flavor but was a little fatty for me. The steak was very tender but only had 3 to 4 small pcs in the bowl. The veggies were a disappointment. The bean sprouts were brown and mushy. There was plenty of cilantro and lime options. The noodles were a little tough and chewy as it seems they didn't cook long enough to make them perfect. The Bun bowl was better. The egg rolls were crispy, and meat tender. The veggies again didn't seem fresh. Overall it is ok but I won't be straying from my go to place again! read more

Pho was okay the noodles had a weird flavor. The rice was super flavorful but about $15. Boba was a bit too strong and intense. Servers were sweet but very soft spoken. It was $47 for 1 appetizer, 1 boba, a small pho and a plate of BBQ chicken rice. It was decent but wouldn't go again. read more

This place was fantastic. It's so frigid this time of year, all I wanted was a hot soup and pho hit the spot. We were seated quickly and our order was taken quickly. I ordered a Thai tea and chicken pho. We were not sure how to pay at the end because no one came back so we eventually just went up to the cash register. Food was great though. read more

Hands down our favorite neighborhood pho restaurant! We love coming here, whether it's a last-minute dinner decision or part of a well devised plan to kill time while the tires are being rotated at Costco. I can also attest that if you're feeling under the weather, nothing beats the to-go soup options (I recently sent my spouse to pick up three orders of soup that I ate over the course of a few days while I got over a virus). The service is excellent and very friendly. It's usually seat-yourself style. They recently updated their menu and it's very user friendly with nice photos. Warning if you order any of the spring rolls: they're huge! We always cut them in half to share and they come two to an order. read more

Ordered to-go for lunch. The online ordering is pretty easy to use. I liked that the online menu included pictures. I ordered the brisket and meatball pho, a bahn mi with grilled pork, and the shrimp spring rolls. The bahn mi was really good. The bread was really soft and they were generous with the fillings. The shrimp springs rolls were OK; not the best I've had. I was really looking forward to the pho. Unfortunately, my order DID NOT come with any vegetable garnishes. Very disappointing! Although the broth was good and the portion was very generous for a kid size, I could not fully enjoy my pho because I had to go without any vegetable toppings. read more

Went here for dinner with friends. I ordered the S2 (pho with brisket and rare steak) it was pretty decent. The inside was straight forward, not a lot of frills, but none needed. Service was good too. Nothing exceptional, just fine. I've found myself spoiled by Cali pho spots and this wasn't really it for me. On the table was siracha and hoisin sauce. I like when locations have chili oils and I find when that's missing it won't be what I hoped for. And that's okay. This location just isn't for me. read more

My girlfriend and I are big Pho fans -- we eat it at least once a month -- so finding a great spot is serious business for us. We had a go-to spot that we absolutely loved...until we heard (from a friend of a former employee) that there were some gross health code violations happening behind the scenes. I'll spare you the appetite-ruining details because this review is about a place you actually should eat at! I'd driven by it a bunch of times and finally checked out the reviews -- they looked good, so we gave it a shot. And I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is super clean, we were greeted immediately, and they had refreshing cold water with lime en route to the table as we sat down. Love that. Ordering is easy with a big, easy-to-read menu (for folks who accidentally left their readers at home -ahem me) by the counter or a full menu at your table. Pro tip: the table menu has more options. I ordered the Combo Noodle Bowl (B9 maybe?) -- grilled pork, chicken, beef, and egg rolls -- and it was incredible. The presentation was picture-worthy, the beef was tender and slightly sweet, the egg rolls were crispy and flavorful, and everything together just worked perfectly. (I'm not a drown-it-in-fish-sauce guy, so I mixed everything and dipped as needed -- perfect.) The vibe, the service, the food, the value -- it all hit the mark. The bill for two people was under $40 and we had enough leftovers for another meal at home. Bottom line: If you love Pho, you have to try Pho #1. It's definitely my new #1 -- and the name fits. read more

After a bout of the stomach bug, all I wanted was some soothing broth and pho. This hit the spot. I got Pho Dac Biet (the combination one with all the meats). We also got stir-fried tofu with veggies. Both were delicious! They were very generous with portions too. Our 11-month old baby LOVED the tofu and nearly ate the entire dish herself. They had a high chair and were accommodating to families with little ones. When we were there, there were three other families with little ones. The ambiance is lovely--it's a nice mom and pop shop, not too loud, and has ample parking. We've been to a ton of pho places, and this is by far our favorite. It's been a journey in finding a place that makes an authentic and flavorful pho broth. This is it! read more

We have eaten here twice in a week. Both times I had the same dish- seafood pho- and my son had fried noodles. Both times we both ordered identical meals and there were obvious inconsistencies. Both ways were great but there was obvious differences. My son's plate was huge the second visit but mine felt deflated. The seafood pho was incredible on my first visit with 2 shrimp, 2 fish/tofu cakes, 2 clams, 2 crabmeat and 2 squid but the second visit-today- there were 50% less proteins and zero fish cakes. Still, the pho was incredible and was everything I wanted. It was just bizzarr having two different experiences in a week like that. Meanwhile my son's plate had almost twice the food as the first visit. So almost opposite experiences. This won't stop me from returning on a regular basis and I have abandoned my "favorite pho" place in town and adopted this one now! They have many fruit drinks and boba teas for better prices than the two "boba drink" locations within view. read more

Eaten here a few times. This time we decided to order out. Today when I went, they weren't busy. Cheba Hut just opened not too long ago and seemed to be stealing the scene. My Husband got: -Grilled Chicken Banh Mi -NO jalapeños -extra meat that we paid $3 for!!! - LG Make Your Own Pho (pick 3): -2x Rare Steak -1 Meatball - (add)+ Meatball $$$ I got: - Special Banh Mi -extra pate -LG Make Your Own Pho: (pick 3): -1x Rare Steak -1x Brisket -1x Tendon My Son: -Meatlover Bun Dac Biet Mind you, we live in (south) Fountain. About 30-45 minutes away depending on route and traffic. We can't just simply drive down the street to tell/show them, "Hey dude.. You $%_*ed up." BEFORE YOU EVEN SAY IT, we already know. From now on. We'll check it before we leave from here. My Son's order was perfect. Nothing wrong. Here's how ours went... I get home and my Husband's eating his sandwich and he like, "Babe... where's the extra chicken? ... Is this beef?" He pulls out the meat to show me and IT'S DARK. LIKE. BEEF!!! I tasted it and it tasted like it. Mess up #1. Mess up #2: Then I check his pho. Its 1x rare steak, 1x brisket (NOT WHAT HE ASKED), and only 1x meatballs. So they messed up on the 2x rare steak and the 2x meatballs. Mine: -Banh Mi is ok. No extra pate (messing #3) -My pho had 1x brisket, 1x rare steak, 1x tendon. I ended up trading my Husband my rare steak with my brisket because he doesn't like the brisket. So I ended up with 2x brisket 1x tendon. The kids that helped us, he was great. He even repeated everything to us so I knew it was given right. We work hard and should get what we pay for. We are happy to pay for any extras or edits. We didn't it. Disappointed. I would order again. How've I will definitely be checking the food before I leave. read more

The food was really good for the most part. I loved the banh mi, portion size and fillings were great. The egg roll order was delicious and plentiful. The spring rolls didn't seem worth the hefty price and we weren't fans of their peanut sauce. It was pretty runny. The vermicelli dish was delicious but a little on the small side. My one big complaint is that while dining in, we got served with plastic disposable dishes, cups, and silverware. I feel like if we were taking our food home, that's understandable, but I'm not a fan of eating on it if I'm dining in and it also seems wasteful. read more

After checked into the hotel, we were in need of food right away. At first, we saw raiding canes that's what we decided to go. After arriving the shopping center, we spotted this pho place. We go to eta pho every Sunday at Pho Oregon in Portland, it's hard to find another pho place to beat the experience. We needed some hot soup, so we abandoned original plan. We ordered rare steak pho and special pork pho for entrees. Beef spring rolls and fried dumplings for appetizer. I had a "cake milk tea" as well. Pho is all about the broth and this place delivered. It had great flavors and it's HOT as it should be. Beef spring rolls were great, felt like it's freshly made not in the refrigerator for a while. Deep fried dumplings were more standard not particular memorizable. I don't give 5 stars was due to the milk tea. It wasn't great at all, I couldn't skip it without it. read more

I have enjoyed eating here for about a year, but I moved farther away and haven't been in a while. Tonight, I ate there for dinner, ordering my usual Special Noodle Bowl. The portion in the plastic bowl is smaller than it used to be, the price was $17, there were only 3 small pieces of spring roll, two shrimp, and more than half the beef pieces were completely unchewable. Not just a little gristle, but I had to spit out whole pieces. The waitress simply said, "I'll tell the kitchen." I waited a little, wondering if they would do something about it, but she came back out doing her usual work. I won't be back. read more

First, and most importantly: the pho broth here is the best you can find in Colorado Springs. I urge the owners to keep the recipe...don't cut corners, don't make changes. It's pretty perfect. I'd like see more generous portions of cilantro and sprouts. I'd like to see more lettuce included for wrapping the egg rolls. I'd like to see little bowls for dipping sauce. I understand most Americans don't know how to properly eat pho. They squeeze sauce into the broth and eat the egg rolls with chopsticks. Still, we would like to have those things without having to ask. The service isn't so much lacking as it's new. They're figuring out how to do things. They're new. I feel they'll be a well-oiled machine in a couple months. If they added bun bo hue we'd be so happy. We'll be back. Often. read more
