I go here religiously for the pho - the broth is amazing. I originally started with the straight beef pho, then tried the beef and tendon after which, I totally ignored the plain beef pho. Then I veered onto the special beef pho. The price is very reasonable for the small to medium between which I alternate. But after someone (a casual convo with a Vietnamese Australian guy about food) suggested I try bun bo hue which I didn't realise all this time was called the 'spicy beef soup' - this broth is so different to the pho broth, I had to try it. It's rich, sour, and spicy all at once and the lettuce and cabbage as additions make it wonderful particularly with such a differently textured noodle to the pho rice noodle. I unfortunately added too much chilli - the sliced ones, so I did sweat a bit. Bun Bo Hue is definitely my new favourite winter soup. The staff is friendly and attentive but know when to leave you alone. Because I ate the bun bo hue on a bleak day - it made me feel so warm and happy. It was a great experience. Can't wait for the next time! Perhaps I'll go back to pho, one day. read more
