I really really wanted to like this company. I even stayed with them despite all the different times I had to keep waiting. I liked how professional they were. Direct answeres and inexpensive. However, they kept delaying my tow. I needed to tow a fifth wheel. They said they had some trucks break down that day and I understood it happens, but then it happened again and then they tell me another time they can only do what I needed tuesdays and wed which also made sense as it wasn't an emergency And that was their slow days. The day before the tow, I called and asked about the quote I was given to make sure I didn't get up there and not have all the funds. They did raise it almsot $200 but even then I just had been waiting and just needed to get my fifth wheel asap so it didn't matter to me. Then the day of I'm four hours out and already headed up there, I call them as I hadn't received a call yet, and he tells me his truck broke down (again) and that he would call me back when he figured it all out. I immediatly after waiting as long as I did was just over the non stop pushing it off. the guy who I purchased the fifth wheel from was getting impatient as well. So I called Ron's auto wrecker in Gaylord and they didn't give me excuses like I felt I had been giving time and time again with Phil's towing. They told me to not turn around and they could do it that afternoon. They followed me immediatly, no waiting and we got my fifth wheel finally and they were so pleasent And also inexpensive. I now regret not calling them sooner. phils towing seemed as if they possibly just didn't want to do it looking back and they should have just said like many other towing companies did they simply didn't want to do it. I would have moved on. They never called me back when he "figured it all out" that just showed me again they just didn't want to do it. Instead they kept telling me different reasons Why I would have to wait And they probably were hoping I'd just find someone else. Instead I trusted them and waited on them. Bummer really. This could have just been my experience and they may very well be a great company however I will never call them again. read more

Had a flat tire. Having had flat tires in the past and knowing that tire shops installed them with air wrenches, we didn't even attempt to change it ourself. Upon calling Phil's, we were told they would be there in 30 minutes. About an hour and a half later, we received a follow up call about the service call and they requested our location. We were told they were unhooking an another vehicle and would be heading our way. While waiting, we proceeded to get the spare lowered and slowly and with great challenge, started removing the nuts. When we received yet a third call from them, about three hours later, they hadn't even left town. We told them to forget it as we were almost done changing the tire ourselves. I had a flat tire and a couple of the lugs twisted off when trying to change it so we had to call AAA for a tow. They sent Phil's towing out to pick up my car. The driver didn't seem to happy that the tire was still on the car with only one lug holding it, so we explained that we hadn't bothered taking the last one off because the other 3 had broken and we thought it might be easier to load the car with the tire still on it. He spent several minutes on the phone, I assume with someone else from the company. I could hear him cussing about the situation. I can only guess that he wasn't a regular driver and really had no clue what he was doing. It took a while, but he managed to get the car loaded and hauled it to Roscommon for me. My son drove me there, so I did not ride with him. He did get the car where it needed to go, so I can't complain too much, but with his language and attitude, I didn't think he should have been working with the public. read more

We contacted Phil's through our motor club when our truck, towing a camper, broke down just outside of Grayling. Our driver, Chuck, was extremely helpful with getting the truck to a reputable repair shop and our camper to the hotel where we ended up staying. He was also helpful with locating the hotel. He was courteous throughout. All-in-all a very positive experience in what was, for us, a stressful situation. read more

After John's M55 Service, a mere 7 miles from my home, failed to contact me or show up to jump start my car after waiting nearly 5 hours, AAA road service contacted Phil's towing in Grayling, 55 miles away, and they immediately called to confirm directions and they arrived in about one hour.
