Bun was burnt to a crisp. Philly tasted like rotten meat. Took forever to get the sandwich's. Real dive bar

I didn't think too much into the reservation but when I showed up it was definitely not the place I recall (now known as Pier 6) but I recall looking at photos that it would be worth checking it out. We were promptly seated and greeted by the waitress. The lunch menu is brief with a few items in each section of Apps, salads, sandwiches and plates. We opted for the calamari as we heard it was a good app to start with. At the same time we ordered drinks which consisted of coffee, Expresso martini and the aperol spritz. The calamari came out and it was a good amount. However, they were very small and it was dry. We got the perch sandwich and it came out with an enormous amount of shoe string fries which imo are the worse type as they are typically over fried and so were these. Frying a good filet of fish is usually a bad idea and this sandwich would be better served to be grilled when your fries are fried and the calamari is fried too. Service was slow for being an empty restaurant. Note: we had a 4 year old with us and the key is to always rush their food asap so they stay content. Since we waited a bunch of time, we had some ancy people at the table after 1 hour 45 minute lunch where the room was essentially empty. Much improvement can be had otherwise spend your dollars at Pier 6 for a much better experience.

For my entrée, I ordered the tiger shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy, the blistered tomatoes added the perfect touch of acidity, and all of the components of the dish came together beautifully. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of their menu.

We brought a bottle of wine, they have a liquor license but currently don't serve wine or beer. Server didnt write the order down correctly, they brought the wrong food to the table, then we waited a while longer. They asked if we wanted a complementary cocktail which was nice but we were enjoying our wine. It just didn't make sense, maybe a salad, bread or appetizer since we were still waiting for our food. Food arrived but server didnt give us silverware abs we had to wait/ask for that too. When the bill came they still had the food wrong so that needed corrected too and we didn't catch it till after we paid and tipped. Maybe our server had an off night but then he made a comment about not wanting to overcharge us and to "save us money" by adjusting the bill. It was his mistake for charging us for the wrong meal and we pointed it out. Ambiance, I would have enjoyed them dimming the lights a bit. Seemed like it was plenty bright.

When I order short rib, I expect an actual short rib on the plate. Other than that, the experience was good. Server Josh was prompt and personable. Beer was in a deceiving small glass for tap beer. Prices reminiscent of PGH or Cincinnati, not small town Erie. Mac and cheese was good. I couldn't eat the app burgers due to aioli, and no offer to bring one free of aioli. I love the atmosphere, but very disappointed in my short rib dish. Asked for any reduction sauce instead of aioli and nothing was possible (I don't consider this a big ask).

I came here for an early dinner and my oh my I have got to pay more attention. Go in, push the book case and plan to stay awhile! Cocktails outstanding, appetizers were plentiful, the entree was just ok, vibes were everything. I started with the hibiscus spritzer which was a little bit on the sweet side for me but very refreshing. The whipped feta plate (I cannot recalled the exact name) with a very large portion with whipped feta, pita bread, rye crisps and sweet peppers which was healthy and refreshing. For an entree we decided to share the short ribs. It was a very large portion that came with mashed potatoes and steamed carrots. The temperature was off like it wasn't fresh, it wasn't hot the short rib was dry the carrots were hots, the potatoes lukewarm, the plate hot, all very odd. I didn't care for it so I'm glad we shared it. My friend enjoyed it I didn't say anything. For dessert (there is no menu so they share the specials verbally) We selected what we were told was a strawberry cheesecake. It was not cheesecake. It was definitely a shortbreak with a way too sweet frosting. I was very disappointed in this because I would chosen the chocolate cake (or nothing). Just as we wrapped up the live music had started. This place is super cute, and perfect for drinks, dinner, a date, the live music, etc.

Loved the peach beer myself (just the one) and my spouse enjoy his 3 ipa's. Met good patrons, which always tells me about a place. Pickle pizza hit the spot! And to make it 100% id suggest adding Sriracha or ranch drizzle? It needed just one *something.* but also totally brilliant without.

We had been…read morelooking for a brewery in Erie to visit after the Erie Marathon whenever Lavery Brewing popped up on Yelp. This place is large and has both outdoor seating on the side as well as plenty of indoor seating. The inside looked like a mix of cozy and industrial, with a long wooden bar stretching the length of the room, warm pendant lights hanging overhead, colorful beer boards on the wall, and shelves lined with bottles and glassware behind the bar. It had a relaxed but lively feel to it. After looking around to figure out where we wanted to sit, we ultimately chose the bar. For lunch on this day I chose to go with the pimento smash deluxxxe while my wife went with the pesto pizza. The menu described my meal as two smash patties, bacon, American cheese, pimento cheese, and onion rings on a brioche bun while my wife's was described as parsley basil pesto, triple cheese blend, fire roasted tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. I thought that the burger here was delicious as the patties were seasoned nicely and I appreciated the onion rings. While there was plenty of cheese and it was flavorful, I almost could have used more of the pimento. Then my wife liked her pizza here especially the pesto combined with the fire roasted tomatoes. Then for drinks, as I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Lavery Brewing, a flight consists of 6 beers and I chose the Active Recovery, Seeking Clarity, Lime n Cuke, Throwing Tropical Shade, Sound Mild, and Divine Intervention for my flight. I first started with the Active Recovery which was light and hoppy and very drinkable. Up second was the Seeking Clarity which had a clean start before a heavy dose of hops in the middle which surprisingly didn't linger. Third was the Lime n Cuke which has a strong cucumber smell and the drink itself is dry like most goses with a mild lime and stronger cucumber flavor. Fourth was Throwing Tropical Shade and you could really taste the orange and other tropical flavors with a finish flavor of coconut. For me this was a really delicious beer. Up fifth was the Sound Mild which was light but you got the nice flavor of those toasted malts at the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Divine Intervention which had a strong coconut flavor on the finish. Out of the bunch my favorite ended up being the Throwing Tropical Shade. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed the beverages and the food and we left both happy and stuffed.

The smells of smoke and beer and short-order cooking...the sounds of mindless sports shows on the TV - even the Price is Right makes for good watching...the murmur of the type of chatter that seems so important at the time...I miss all of these things so much, but I'm here to tell you, That Place on 26th St still has it all and they deliver both barrels! The place was PACKED, so I didn't try to get lunch yesterday, but I'll be heading back very soon cause the reason the place was PACKED was the food they were serving - the day's special was stromboli and one after another came in and ordered one or two or three, some stayed and ate, some left with their orders, but the flow never even slowed! Yes, smoking is permitted, but so what? If that bothers you, you're probably better off in a safe little corporate "pub". THIS is a REAL tavern and they are worth more than a try. Stop in, grab some beers and a bite and enjoy all the memories they bring up!
