    Pads and spaces

First time in Evanston, WY. This park is older but really laid out well and in good repair. Go to their website to read about the history. When you approach it from I-80, it will come up on you fast because the sign is a tad small. But the parking lot next to the office is very wide and easy to get into especially with big rigs (40+). The pads are gravel but they were recently regraveled. Some pads for big rigs are at least 85-90 feet long, so be sure to ask for the space that fits your coach. Also, some of these pads have a clear view of the southern sky for your satellite dish. Again, be sure to ask. They will accommodate you. All spaces are partially or completely shaded, but the trees do not get in your way when you pull in. The power pedestals are situated at the rear of the space, so take that into account when you place your coach. We had to use an extension cord for our 50 amp but no problem. Spaces between lots are not overly tight so you're not sitting on top of each other. Plenty of green grass to walk your pets. There are a lot of touristy spots within 2 miles of this park. One is a county part with elk and bison for viewing. It also has a lot of picnic tables. The whole area is fantastic. It is well worth staying a couple of days to explore. Evanston is about half way between Salt Lake City and Cheyenne. Sorry for the long review, but we loved this park and Evanston!

No stars because they wouldnt allow my beautiful vintage 1970 roadrunner camper. They made me submit pictures. It is in good shape but i also have long hair so???

I truly feel like reviews help. Had a spot reserved for horse racing weekend. Got their and she couldn't find it. Then came back and said they didn't have a spot because I was booked for Friday-Sat-Sunday. No confirmation sent, she said just use her name when I made the reservation . In my book I have it right. There is no way I made it for Friday since I was at the Summer Games in Cedar City. Had to drive to Echo which is about 40 min away, but so worth it!!

Showing how close I was to the tree even with being up against the lilac bush.

I stayed at this RV park for two months, on business, otherwise I would not have stayed for any length of time. The woman manager (owner?) is very unfriendly and unaccommodating. I asked for some lilac bushes to be trimmed back so that some people could do some work on my trailer. She absolutely refused, telling me that it was my fault I was so close. It's true that I spotted close to the bush - but, if had moved to the other side of the site, I would have been right up against a tree. Also, they ignore their own rules regarding speed limits and leashed pets. They roar around the campground on a 4-wheeler with a barking dog running alongside ... until SQUIRREL!!! No attempts to get the dog back, allowed to roam freely within the partk.

This is a very nice park run by a great family. It's convenient to Interstate 80. The park is super clean and super green with lots of mature trees. We started looking (online) for a place to stay about an hour out and found Phillips - a very nice park that is dominated by pull through RV spaces that have a fast Wi-Fi Connection and Cable TV. Once we got here and got settled in, in their overflow area on the grass we decided we wanted to lay low for a day and spend a 2nd night - no regrets there. We got caught up on laundry, in a very clean and inexpensive laundry room - conveniently located in a free standing building near the middle of the park. This is where the restrooms are as well. Both restrooms and laundry room have a push-button combo lock to keep non-guests out. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Showers are large and clean as well. The water pressure is off the charts here - so be sure to use a water pressure regulator. The park is billed as an RV Park - in reality they do have 3 tent sites - very spacious and out of the way. Nearly all of the RV Sites are pull through. There are many very big rigs here with tow trailers or vehicles that don't unhook. There is some background noise from the freeway and trains. At the moment, there is construction taking place on the freeway near where the train passed under which is close to the RV Park. Because of safety requirements, the horn blows its whistle whenever going under the freeway, alerting the highway workers. This only happens during daylight hours and the construction will be complete in the next month or two - so don't hold that against the park. Perhaps one of the real highlights of our short visit was meeting Ranold Phillips who was born on the property 86 year ago. He spent nearly ah hour with us relaxing outside our rig last night. He and his wife Joyce are still very active in the day to day operation although their daughter Darla and her two children Courtney and Brian are actually running the business side of the park these days. Ranolds parents first bought the property in 1936 and established Phillips Camp and Sinclair Service when the price of a gallon of gas was only $0.19 a gallon. After the war, the property evolved into a roadside motel for weary travelers. Ranold is proud of the work that he put into this park - as he says, everything I see here he did. When he modernized the park he was very forward thinking He may have been able to get a few more spaces squeezed in had he made them a bit closer and back in spots - instead he chose to go with pull-troughs and wider spaces, leaving an open meadow in the middle with a playground for the kids to play in. Of the 53 RV spaces, only 5 are back in. Anyone traveling along the 80, perhaps heading north to Yellowstone, Phillips RV Park is a great place to stay. I highly recommend Phillips RV Park for any RV Traveler.

Beautiful place. Mature trees and grass. RV and tent camping available. No problem moving our 30' travel trailer in or out. We only heard the train during the day. It was easy to register online and we also received a reminder email. Love the town. There is a trail and bridge for walking along the river just a short way down the street. Would stay again.

My wife & I stayed here at the Phillips RV Park this last summer. We were there for 4 day's & nights. Went to the Evanston Rodeo, the local Labor Day Parade and the Fort Bridger Mountain Man days event. The Phillips family where most helpful with directions and information about what was going on in and around Evanston. From the time we arrived till time for us to leave someone from the Phillips family (Mostly Darla & her daughter Courtney) were there with the best Hospitality and genuine care for their guests. Darla & Courtney made or stay at Phillips RV Park memorable and most of all FUN.... We will Definitely be back....

We come to Rockport every year in August for a family reunion. We normally camp in the cabins (and…read morehonestly didn't care much for it) but this year we decided to camp at the Juniper campground and we loved it more then the cabins. Only down fall is due to the drought in Utah this year there was hardly any water (only 40% full ) and it was super muddy but it's not the camp grounds fault. Stupid drought. We will definitely be back next year to camp in the campground again. They had the camp spots nice and clean for us when we got there. They even let us check in a little early. We also enjoyed fishing off the bank. Got a few bites but wasn't able to catch anything this time. In the past fishing right before the sun sets is the best time. We seem to usually catch fish around that time by the sale boat area. (Just east of the cabins). We used warms and pink salmon eggs. Can't wait for next years trip!

If you don't have a boat, you may not have as much fun here as others…read more I don't have a boat. The lake is awesome, though. Very clean and the water felt great. There are several beachy areas with covered picnic gazebos. Lots of shade trees down closer to the water, too. Camping is hit or miss. Some sites (the ones closest to the lake) offer no shade and blistering heat. The cottonwood area has lots of trees for shade and if you are lucky, there's a camping lot with a huge field attached for games like volleyball, throwing a football, etc. I can't divulge which one, because it would hurt my chances of being able to book it again, but if you care that much it should be pretty easy to figure out :) Full disclosure- I saw snakes here. One RAN (if snakes could run, that's what this one did) in front of me as I was walking across a grassy spot. I'm a little terrified of snakes so this was no bueno. Also there are tonnnns of Mosquitos so under no circumstances, do NOT forget insect repellent. Raccoons will get into stuff at night. You can hear them. Saw lots of cute little bunny rabbits and some deer. All in all, it's meh for camping, but the lake is awesome.
