Don't get me wrong I still think the prices here are a bit high but the owner sizes you up instantly and picks out the shoe you want before you even get a word out. She hasn't failed yet with me, and I, the cheapskate, have bought 10 pairs of shoes from her at $60 and up where I used to think $20 was too much. I'll be back when this pair wears down. She remembers your name a year later and has ordered that exact shoe in the hopes of your return. If you liked it, there it is again. First class saleswoman, smart marketing, good products. I'm still a cheapskate but I'll shell out a few extra dollars for that.

My son starts school soon and happened to be wearing shoes that were too small, I thought getting one pair here would save my wallet. We stopped only one worker was there I think her name was Hannah. She measured my son's feet, he was at a size 2. Sje recommended he go up one size because of how fast kids grow. She then went through and showed us all the kids shoes she has in a size 3. We picked out a shoe, she got it out and fixed the shoe laces and put them on my son's feet. We ended up buying 2 pairs, to be honest it had nothing to do with the deal. The employee was very pleasant (I am used to either being attacked by the employees at shoe stores or have to look around for someone to help), and assisted in the whole process of making sure the shoe fit. We ended up getting those light up sketchers and a pair of nike gym shoes. Because she was so helpful in making sure the shoe fit correctly, I will try to plan my shoe shopping days for when I return to Tomah. Customer service is what brings people back and I will be back!

I called them directly to ask what they could do in my price range and to be delivered on a Saturday morning. I also needed a vase since, you know, moving. The man I spoke to was very nice and extremely accommodating. He suggested a fall arrangement and asked what time I'd like it there. I asked for between 9 and 11 AM. My mom said he was there right at 10 (even in the pouring rain!). The arrangement was substantial (including the vase) for $33 INCLUDING delivery! Most of the flowers weren't open yet, which was perfect to make the bouquet last longer. I couldn't have been more pleased with their assistance in making my mom's day extra special.

I paid these people $120 for a tune-up and related costs. That is the most I have ever paid for a…read morebike tune-up. I was willing to pay that in exchange for professional service. I did not get that. The rear brake was not adjusted: I had to squeeze nearly to the handgrip to get it to stop the bike. This is dangerous: a rider pulling evenly on front and rear brakes to stop quickly would be at risk of flying over his/her handlebars, as the front brake grabbed while the rear one failed to do so. Later, I found that they had done the cabling wrong as well: their work quickly fell apart, and now the rear brake was grabbing at random times, especially after hitting a bump. I had to take the bike to another shop to get that redone, at considerable additional cost. The front derailleur was not adjusted correctly: the chain would not go onto the large sprocket, and it was rattling from misalignment on the others. The rear derailleur would drift from one gear to the next, changing gears unexpectedly five or ten seconds after I shifted. That, too, was dangerous: one time, on another bike, I broke a collarbone when the chain skipped unexpectedly and threw me off balance while I was pedaling hard. The tires were not even fully inflated, and there was no cap on the valve stem of the rear tire. When they put the front bike tire on, they knocked the speedometer sensor out of the way, and didn't even bother moving it back to its proper position afterwards. I spent about 15 minutes going over some of this with the proprietor when I arrived to pick up the bike. I had another appointment, so I wound up having to make another trip, and spending the better part of an hour the second time, going over all these things. The guy seemed very agreeable about trying again and again to adjust the derailleurs, and that would have been great if we were just buddies and he was trying to help me out. But in this case I had paid all that money to discover the problems on my own time and at my own risk, and then explain them to him, and then watch and help while he kept trying to get them right, and in some regards he never did. I don't think he even bothered taking the bike for a test ride after the tune-up. It was a complete slop job.

I have not rented from Beyond Boundaries but we purchased new bikes from them before our vacation…read morein January. I met Miah and Brandy when they moved to Wonewoc to start the business several years ago. Brandy's parents also help with the business. Beyond Boundaries rents bicycles and canoes and, I think, kayaks. Miah will shuttle you down the river or bike trail so you can ride back to Wonewoc. They are great people. Enthusiastic, energetic, community minded and super nice. Please support them in their endeavors, they are doing amazing things in our community.
