Today has been my third phone call to Sunrun to address the same billing issue and each call was…read moreover an hour. I had Sunrun for close to 10 years through a lease. I sold my house in August and transferred the Sunrun solar system to the new owner at that time. I received a confirmation email from Sunrun stating the transfer to the new owner was complete. I received a final bill and paid it immediately. In September Sunrun drafted a payment from my bank account. I called and after over an hour I was supposed to get a refund to my bank account in 2-4 days (Sunrun sent an email stating I would be refunded in 2-4 days). The refund never occurred. I called my bank and disputed the charge. The bank refunded my money after 10 days. I also stopped all ACH payments from Sunrun at that time also. October 2025 Sunrun attempted to draft a monthly charge from my bank account again this month . This time it was declined by my bank. Sunrun sent me an email stating I owed them money and if I did not pay I would be sent to collections. Since August I no longer have a Sunrun system or account that has been confirmed more than once via email from Sunrun. I called the number on the email and even though the Sunrun employee acknowledged I should not have been charged as my account is closed and they owe me less than $3 back he could not help me. I asked for a supervisor and was told I could not speak to a supervisor as I was no longer a customer. I asked for clarification and confirmed with the employee I would not be able to speak with a supervisor since I was no longer a customer. After letting him know of my displeasure with the service I was receiving and the unwillingness of Sunrun to help I was able to finally get to a supervisor. We will see if the supervisor will follow through to fix the issue. The supervisor also confirmed this is a billing error and I do not owe any money. I do not recommend Sunrun to anyone which is unfortunate as the customer service was top notch for several years. I am not sure why the service is so poor now.

I already had solar panels; however, I wanted my electricity bill to go down even more so I decided to get more panels. These two guys below told me I could get more panels and my bill will go down. Well, the installers came and installed the panels. They broke three of my roof tiles, but they did replace them in a timely manner. They told me I wouldn't get my first bill for probably 4 to 6 weeks. I received my first bill and it was more than I ever paid for my solar. I got the second bill, which was the same amount. I called and texted the salesmen and they did not respond to me. I called Sunrun and told them I was very displeased with the bills and I want the equipment removed immediately. The person said, but you signed up for a 25 year contract and I said no I did not. He said I can send you the contract. I received the contract and saw that they signed me up for a 25 year lease and I have to pay $235 every month for the first year and then every year after that it goes up 3.5%. I'm paying that on top of whatever PG&E charges me every month. I was never told any of this!!They just told me it was their equipment. I just wanted more panels just so my bill would be lower and now the bill went in the opposite direction. I don't know how you people can with live with yourselves after lying to people and ripping them off. I will be doing everything I can to take legal action against this lying and deceiving so-called company. Below are the two salesmen. When they knock, don't open the door!

Hello, I want to share my experience with Nova West Energy. While I was in the market to add a…read moresolar system to work alongside my existing one, I interviewed about seven different companies. I took my time researching, reading reviews, evaluating customer service, and even checking the Better Business Bureau. After all of that, I narrowed it down to two companies, Nova Energy and another local company in Fresno.Ultimately, I chose the other company because they hold a roofing license as well. This was very important to me due to a previous bad experience with SolarCity damaging my roof and not fixing it. I ended up fixing it out of pocket. That being said, Nova Energy truly stood out. Justin took the time to thoroughly educate me and presented a very well-designed system tailored to my needs. Honestly, I would have gone with them if it weren't for my prior experience and specific concerns. What impressed me most is that they genuinely care about their customers. Even knowing I was comparing multiple companies, they were patient, transparent, and focused on making sure I understood exactly what I needed for my home. Even after I told Justin I had decided to go with another company, he still took the time to make sure I was fully informed. He reviewed key details with me such as solar panel quality, system performance stats, degradation rates, and the difference between kW and kWh, just to ensure I was making the best decision for my home. That level of professionalism and integrity really stood out. In today's world, many companies treat business as just a transaction, sell a product and move on. Nova Energy is different. They take the time to understand your needs, educate you, and guide you without pressure. Their approach is honest, professional, and customer centered. Their pricing is very competitive, and they don't try to oversell. Instead, they explain your actual energy usage and make sure you don't overproduce unnecessarily. That level of integrity is rare. They also have excellent reviews, offer a strong 25-year roof warranty, and clearly stand behind their work. Even though they didn't end up installing my system, I believe my hesitation around roofing, despite them having a 25 roofing policy, was more related to my previous negative experience and my need for extra reassurance. If anything, if you are in the market for a solar system, I strongly recommend giving Justin a call. He is honest in his evaluation, does not try to oversell, and takes the time to answer every question you may have.

This was the only solar company that asked the right questions about my existing system to provide sound professional advice, instead of just trying to sell me something. I would use them in the future, and would recommend anyone looking into solar to talk to these guys!

He claims on Yelp to be "fully licensed," yet, looking up the name of his company, as well as the…read morename Brandon Retlik on the State Contractors Licensing Board website, I can't seem to find a license for him or his company. I don't see any actual license number on his advertising either, which appears to be required, if one is actually "licensed." The possible lack of contractors license makes sense now though, as he took over $1200 from us up front to perform a $2400 job, charging us 50% of the cost of the entire job up front, but we now know after talking to our friend, who is also an attorney, that this is illegal in California (violation of B&P 7159.5-a Misdemeanor). Regardless, even if he is actually licensed, and is taking more than 10% of the cost of the job up-front, knowing he can't legally do such, makes his conduct really shady. After taking our $1200 up front and scheduling to install our permanent lights, he no-showed several times to our confirmed appts, always full of excuses when we reached out to him to find out why he no-showed (many other reviewers here talk about no-shows with him as well). Excuses consisted of, "I got asked to help at the Clovis parade" and "I'm in Riverdale on job," when he was scheduled to be on our job instead. Yet, he never reached out to tell us he couldn't make the appt or to reschedule, he'd just no-show and we'd have to follow-up with him to find out what happened. After several rounds of that, we had to eventually hire someone else to complete the actual work we paid Brandon to do. Brandon initially agreed to refund us the money, due to his repetitive and complete failure to perform any of the work as agreed. He initially stated he would reverse the $1200 debit card charge. Of course, like all his other lies, he never reversed the charges. After confronting him on such, he then agreed to drop a check off to us for $1200 instead, which he again never followed through with after making several commitments to do so (we have all the texts proving such). Now, he's just flat-out non-responsive to any calls or texts we make to him, so, we figured it was time for a review so others know exactly how this guy treated us and can make an informed decision when considering hiring him for any work. Apparently he thinks we're just going to allow him to literally steal $1200 from us, which if other reviews are true, he's done similar things to other Yelp reviewers as well. Unfortunately, due to his now complete non-responsiveness and total failure to return our $1200, it looks like our only recourse left per the attorney we know, is to go the route of filing an official complaint with the CA Contractor Licensing Board next week, as well as filing a civil legal claim (Letter of Demand already sent). Based upon prior reviews, given the fact, he has apparently taken other people's money as well and then not performed the work for up front payments, would seem to potentially establish a pattern of deception by: 1. Charging more up front than the law allows (50% vs a max of 10%); and 2. taking money from consumers and then not performing the work. So, we're going to meet with law enforcement as well to see if anything else can be done about him taking our money and running with it. Luckily, we have EVERYTHING well documented very clearly in writing with him, so, proving all of the above legally in court and with the CSLB, will not be difficult whatsoever. The takeaway: based upon our experience with this guy taking our money up front and then vanishing, we clearly don't recommend his services, but, hopefully the wheels of justice will catch up with him, as it appears he's taken advantage of other people as well based upon other online reviews, as well as an unanswered BBB complaint from 2023 (easy to view online). We clearly aren't the first victim he's taken money from and then disappeared. Wish we would have read all the Yelp reviews first, as well as the BBB complaint, prior to hiring him. Lesson learned the hard way on this one!

The panels are not working and have been reported to Empower, the installer, EverBright, the leasing company, and Omedian, the company that services the panels. The PG&E bill has never reflected a reduction in monthly cost for the solar. My uncle is now in a memory care facility and our family is committed to a $212.56 monthly payment to Everbright Solar for 25 years. My uncle never would have agreed to this purchase had he fully understood the financial obligation. At his age, he would never financially benefit from such a purchase.
