The great convenience store with an unfortunate name, the Kum & Go impressed me. It's located right…read moreoff the interstate in Springfield, so gas prices are about ten cents higher than you'd pay if you are willing to drive a few miles down the exit road. Convenience is key, and this was an easy on and easy off stop for gas. I'm giving this place 5 stars for several reasons. All are important to me when evaluating a convenience store. 1. Restrooms The bathroom was super clean and spacious, and well stocked with toilet paper and soap. 2. Snacks The snack selection was fantastic, on par with the best of the best road warrior stops (Love's, Quick Trip, WaWa). There isn't a deli or anything, but the selection and options for soda, healthy (and unhealthy) snacks, and various essentials is fantastic. They have everything from hot coffee to batteries to energy drinks to ice cream to cat food. 3. Service / Safety The parking lot and interior are both well-lit, with cameras inside and out for added security. Masks are required for employees and customers, and they were enforcing the rule. The guy working the register was super friendly and chatty, and seemed genuinely curious where I was from and where I was headed (since he could tell I wasn't from around the area). This Kum & Go (*giggle*) is a great stop if you need a break on the road while traveling through Missouri.

This store is a VERY decent store to shop. The ignorance of many of the customers seems to…read morecomplicate the clerks' duties. From my own observations, the customers are in fact the problem with this store, and not the employees. I know of MANY occassions where ignorant arrogant customers (both male and female, professional and trash) have made verbal threats and shown a total disregard for the humanity of the employees. These clerks and their manager are in customer service, however it MUST be remembered they ARE NOT SERVANTS and are definitely not slaves to be treated with the disrespect each of them put up with all day long. It must be remembered, these are CLERKS not technicians or repairmen. There are problems that occur with the pumps which are beyond the clerks control. And as for asking you which pump you were on, do you realize they have EIGHT pumps?? If more than a few cars are out there, use some common sense and let the clerk know WHERE you are or were! Also remember, unlike alot of jobs, these clerks MUST perform customer service along side NUMEROUS other duties that MUST be performed at least once or more often on their shifts. Who do you think stocks the coolers? Cleans the store? Restocks the cups/lids/etc. Sweep & Mop the store? They generally have ONE clerk on duty, and it is that clerks responsibility to maintain the store, control the cash flow, oversee the pumps (and watch for morons who decide to steal gas), and as Village Mart owns the property, the store clerks must also be aware of whats going on next door at McDonalds and over the ENTIRE parking lot. Cut them some slack, or go to Rapid Roberts at Fremont & Republic, or Kum & Go north on National. Go anywhere else if you dont like the service you received but before you pass judgement, think about what the clerks must go thru on a day to day basis. On you next trip to McDonalds, remember not to tick off those same employees who reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason and are backed by their management and a majority of the customers. Also remember, if you are barred from the gas station for any reason, no more Chicken Nuggets for you, for it INCLUDES McDonalds and the entire parking lot as well.

Ok, This is more about the McDonalds than the actual gas station but... I'm sure a corporate policy and they have the official McDonalds clock on the inside to tell them when it's 10:30 but all I wanted was 2 hash browns... it made me sad
