St John's Health Urgent Care

This review is long overdue! My family and I visited Yellowstone NP end of August/early Sept for…read morecamping trip. At the end of our trip, we started our roadtrip back home to CA and my bf had a bike accident on the way from the NP to Jackson. The nice local lady helped my bf and suggested for us to go to St John's Urgent Care to get him checked out since he had a small concussion from the fall and road rashes etc. We drove St John and got my bf checked in and he was seen very shortly after. His nurse was Allie and Justin and they were so wonderful, and may I add, also funny! They took really good care of my bf, from cleansing the wounds to dressing the wound. Although, it looked pretty painful when my bf had all his wounds cleansed, scrubbed with a sponge over and over until the dirt was out.. OUCH! He also got two X-rays, all ordered by Dr. Kevin, who, by the way, the sweetest doctor in urgent care we've met! He was so thorough and took the time to ask my bf carefully all kinds of questions to make sure he was okay. He examined my bf's helmet and examined all of his wounds so carefully. He gave his diagnoses and they were spot on after the X-ray results. When my bf was back home and went to see his family doc at the advise of Dr. Kevin, his family doc gave him the same diagnoses. Lucky to say, my bf's accident was barely at the threshold of being serious, so he was really lucky.. Overall, great facility and great people. I wouldn't want to say we would def come back again but if you ever find yourself in a hole...in Jackson, check them out first before going to the ER... We had a wonderful experience despite the unfortunate event.

My daughter is a type 1 diabetic and, shortly after we arrived in town, her CGM stopped functioning…read moredue to the cold weather and she was feeling light headed as if she might be going low but at the same time had been dealing with highs so we needed to be cautious. One of her monitors (for which we had test strips) wasn't working either. We had one other monitor but no test strips. It was a Sunday evening and we quickly learned that all pharmacies were closed and that all T1D devices and test strips were behind the counter and unable to access. So we went to St John's Urgent Care. The front desk girl, barely put her cell phone down, and, with no one else in the clinic, treated us like a huge bother and said that we would have to sit and wait and have an appt in order to "see" if they could give her even a test strip to check her sugars. Maybe it's company policy, but it doesn't fit what you would expect from a medical professional, and the way she presented it was cold and careless with something as delicate as blood sugar levels. We went back to Smith's and a kind woman who worked up front brought us right to a manager who then took us to find a pharmacist who was there after hours. He, without hesitation, opened the pharmacy and helped us choose the best (quality and price) monitor and strips. That's what I call good business protocol. *(In fairness, we did not see an actual physician at the clinic but the front desk made it clear that she has zero compassion for the people coming in for help and who deserves that when dealing with an emergency?) I hope she gets replaced soon as I've heard that the actual docs and nurses are quality people.

After reading many reviews on multiple platforms that the doctors here don't wear masks, I called…read moreand asked if I could have a doctor who wears a mask. The dude said "if want to believe that, go ahead, I can't help you" and promptly hung up on me. These people seem to be eager to lose business for the purpose of demonstrating that they don't believe in modern medical consensus. I can't imagine how I could trust any diagnosis they give.

DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES…read more After I left this visit with the doctor, I was very disturbed. I went in because I had a soar throat. Once in the examination room with, the male nurse asked me to take my bra off and put a gown on. He left the room so I could do so. I am put off by this request but then I see a hand-made sign that says "take off underwear when wearing the gown". So I do. Dr.Blue enters the room without knocking, this doctor is NOT WEARING A MASK DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC. He asks me the same exact questions that the nurse asked me then he comes over to "check my lungs". The gown is open in back, Dr.Blue places the stethoscope but doesn't keep it in place for even half a breath. Then when it comes to my chest he goes above my breasts with the stethoscope, above the gown, not even for the full breaths. Then Dr.Blue says, "Okay, we have to get inside here." he starts to lift up my gown. Dr.Blue felt under each one of my breasts and left the stethoscope there for 3 breaths each. He gives me a diagnosis, hands me a bottle of pills - didn't tell me what they were or how much they costs, just told me to take 2 in the morning and 2 in evening. I have never entered a medical center for a soar throat before and left with a breast exam. You don't need to remove your bra to listen to your lungs or your heart. Dr.Blue is a pervert and puts his patience at severe risk by not wearing a mask. To add salt to the wound, I called 2 weeks later to get my test results, since they told me I would have them within 72 hours... I was greeted by the two rudest receptionists/nurses over the phone. One was an older woman who told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Another was an atrocious young man who told me that he didn't care about my test results and told me to never call back again. It took me three weeks and 5 phone calls with 4 different nurses/receptionists to get my test results - I was told I would have them in 3 days.

I'd leave zero stars if I could. I am a very active participant of mountain life. However I am…read moreseverely depressed and have been for the last 16 years. I go through 2-3 month opiate binges that really ruin my life. I however am currently a year clean after a month slip, with 2 years clean behind that. I have put together a very regular routine, and it does not include being Belittled. The drug I was seeking is called subutex, it will kill an opiate naive individual. Blue called me a lying junky and refused to hear about what dosage of methadone id been in program for over the past year. He said your a liar, and you were a shitty patient before. I said excuse me, I just paid you 160$ and have tried to get explain my needs and symptoms and you dismiss me as a liar? How is it possible to have doctor patient trust/relationship in such an environment. So.... now that he's called me a liar a good few times and I tell him to stop, he writes a prescription for this potentially fatal drug subutex at a completely insufficient dose. Last time I'd seen him 3 years back, I'd weaned myself off the medication and was at a low dose. He re-prescribed that dose since I was obviously lying about my symptoms of withdraw and lying about my methadone dose even thou I had the legal bottles from 3 days before. Pretty much proving I'd be in severe withdrawal and in need of twice the dose he prescribed. I felt insulted, dismissed, and judged. Let's keep this real Dr. Blue was convicted of shooting at his wife in 1999, he has no right to judge ANYONE, he is a pshycopath who fires on his most cherished person.

Exceptional and unreal experience!…read more In Aug 2017 after traveling through Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks I happened to get admitted to St John's Medical Center, Jackson Hole WY with a bad foot infection. The care I received there was absolutely exceptional! Thank you very much Dr. Bullington, Dr. Greenbaum, Dr. Turner, Registered Nurses Laura, Deisy, Karen, Hanna, Kimberly, David, Charge Nurse Jen, and all the staff of this wonderful hospital! More details: ER: After zero wait time I was checked by RN and few min later Dr. J. Greenbaum examined my foot, diagnosed infectious inflammation, took culture samples, and ordered an immediate infusion of antibiotics which was started right away. In a little while orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Bullington examined the foot, opened up the abscess locally, and cleaned it out. Then I was transferred to Primary Care Unit. Primary Care Unit: From the moment I was transferred I received not only exceptional attention and care from all the nurses, but also a very warm, kind, and sincere attitude like I was their relative! It was unbelievable! And I'm actually glad I had an opportunity to meet such wonderful people! While doing their job they didn't rush and still found time to talk to me, to check if I needed anything, and to help keeping me comfortable and sleeping well. And Charge Nurse Jennifer was really in charge and on top of things. Dr. Bullington visited me daily to follow up on the healing progress even though it was a weekend and he wasn't working. Dr. Turner attended last two days of my stay and ensured smooth discharge and clear instructions on next steps. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Food was a restaurant grade with variety and quality you would never expect in a hospital. Thank you all for such an experience!

I can't compare this to any other emergency room visit since I've never had that need before. But in the pantheon of my medical visits over the years, this has to be one of the very best of all experiences. From check in to the fantastic nurse to the great care from the doctor, who both prescribed for my immediate needs and gave me specific follow up on how to obtain testing results he was having conducted that day and urging me to follow up with my primary care doctor immedicately on my return home, which was expediated as a result of this, I felt well cared for by top notch professionals. Hopefully you aren't reading this Yelp review in Jackson because you are in need of emergency care. But if you are I add my five star experience to Brandi S's FTR of the same.

My question: is this practice's core principle to provide service or simply to generate a profit…read morefor the corporate umbrella? Example: After being instructed by email to fill out all forms online, which was also an unhappy and time consuming task, I was then handed a clipboard upon checkin with an apology that that system was not functional. When reported by staff to headquarters "40 times" nothing was done about it. This is emblematic of a lack of care, concern and professionalism, which is also reflected in the tired appearance of the offices. The good staff seem to be taken advantage of by the head office in Florida from where they run about 150 clinics. A little digging revealed that this sorry situation is common with both unhappy patients and employees as well: from ChatGPT: " Overall Reputation While some patients report positive experiences, the organization has received mixed reviews: Yelp: Average rating of 2.7 out of 5 stars based on 1,652 reviews, indicating general dissatisfaction among customers. Yelp Glassdoor: Employee reviews average 2.6 out of 5 stars, with only 31% of employees recommending the company, citing issues like lack of appreciation and a challenging work environment. Indeed: Some employees describe the environment as stressful, with reports of poor management practices." My advice: until they put patients, doctors and staff ahead of profit, go elsewhere.

My husband went in for some skin cancer due to my recommendation. They performed some surgery. We paid some money up front and the rest was given to me to send in to our insurance, because they don't work with our insurance, which I did. I am now arguing with the billing department because they say they didn't get a payment, but I show it as paid off. The billing company is outsourced and very impersonal. Too bad they don't keep their billing local so you can speak to someone here. Probably won't be back to their office for this reason.
