I'm afraid that I have to downgrade Jack Edward barbers for 2 main reasons…read more- The Music they play is atrocious, If you know me I hate all this new rubbish and prefer classics like Frank Sinatra and The Beatles but the barbers here play all the new songs in the new charts and sing along. It is actually cringe worthy. - I had to wait 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time for my appointment, I was waiting 20 minutes as I arrived 10 minutes early, and they was quite a few members of staff hanging around doing nothing, not one of them offered me a drink or said that they would cut it themselves because the person I had booked with, was busy. Back to the main review, parking is hard outside this barbers as it is on the corner of Boardman lane, on a busy road so when I visit this barbers I like to travel via taxis. My hairdresser was nice, she did talk to me but not too much, however she did catch me once again a few times with the razor and the scissors, she was using. She told me the numbers of my hair for future reference, as I tend to forget these things. Due to the main 2 incidents I stated, I do have to downgrade this barbers, I feel downgrading by 1 star for each is far, considering a few other minor things and to be honest, I don't think this barber shop deserves one star.

They let me know what they would have done, had they been given more freedom yet in the end my stylist at the Hair Factory was happy to obey. And since it was A) my money being handed over and B) my goddamn hair I left satisfied. Whilst I was having it blow dried to within an inch of my barnet's life, I did get a few tips which I am usually too scared to ask for, about how to get it properly straight with a hairdryer (I use £15 straighteners to varying effect). I also had a chat about my hair colour which we all agreed would look good a shade darker - I experimented with temporary mahogany a few years ago but didn't like it. Brown is staying, but they convinced me that I should go back and since the guy at Razor's Edge a few times back also suggested this same thing, I didn't think it was a con. Must be what all them slebs do. Dye it to make it shinier.

I asked they tidied up my short bob without taking too much off as I was trying to grow my length. I have no idea what the stylist was thinking but she butchered the crown of my hair, taking it so short that it didn't match up with the rest of the cut. I was mortified and would never return, but ended up having to have my hair cut very short at a different salon to match the scalping I had received at Heaven! Better call this salon Hell.

So the stylist cut a few layers in and then asked if I was happy with the cut, I reiterated that I really did want the sheer volume reducing, as I'd stated at the beginning of the appointment. She point blank refused to thin out my hair, claiming that volume can only be taken off the ends. I've never been told by a hairdresser that using thinning scissors, or razors is not a possibility - in fact it's what they've always used. So, I'm stuck with a mushroom top, with thinned out sides. Maybe I was unlucky, I wasn't prepared to argue about the complete rubbish I was being told - I just won't be returning.

This salon is a decent size, with a few staff working, the entrance is quite narrow, and they is music playing, so is basically your traditional local salon when it comes to appearance and basics features, as mentioned above. I was still very disappointed with Salon Sienna, as for a non-city centre barbers the price is quite high, and was around £8 if I remember correctly, just for simply a quick job. It seemed rather than following my wish, they just basically "tidied" my hair up, and simply barely cut anything off, which meant within days I knew I would need a new hair cut, and just a week or so on it seems I'm going to have to go somewhere to finish the job, which after paying that amount, it is simply unacceptable. My barber did catch me a few times, and apologized once, but she never seemed too friendly otherwise, not making any "small talk" or even saying "Good evening", which is also a sign of a poor hairdresser, and I feel like it also makes me feel like customer service is lacking here, as well as a good final product, which isn't just a lazy, tidy up job.
