I have been with Mark for about a year and a half. At my first appointment we talked and he said he knew how he wanted my hair to look and that I'd love it. Well he was right, he has transformed my hair over this period of time and I do love it. The color, the highlights, the treatments, the products, the cuts, and the style are all working together nicely. Recently I wasn't able to go to the salon due to illness for about 4 months. When I could finally go, Mark was booked. I booked with Cristina and she did my hair. When I got home I saw it was not what I wanted and as many of you know, it's truly difficult to call your stylist and tell them that. You may feel they might be insulted or hurt, or you feel like you shouldn't complain so you say nothing and remain unhappy and sometimes you change salons. Not good. They always say to let them know if there's a problem. Well, if it was me I'd want my customer to tell me so I could fix itI I love how Mark creates my hair. He makes me feel good about myself, he absolutely loves everything about hair and shares his knowledge with you for your benefit. Therefore, I definitely want to keep going there. The rest of the story is Cristina gladly took me the next day and corrected everything and she was very gracious. In the end she did a great job and my hair is now exactly as I wanted it. I have been a client of Mark's for 10 years and I can say with 100% honesty that in all this time the only thing that has changed over the years has been the location of this wonderful business. The high quality of service, creativity & innovation of the staff and welcoming environment of the salon have always been consistent and top notch. What an amazing experience at Philip Mark Salon! I moved here from NY so I am always current looking for the latest and greatest and you will find this here at Philip Mark Salon. They are always doing something new and even style for New York fashion week. They do incredible make-up, and my hair has never looked so good. They also do extensions, and believe me, it is hard to find a salon that does impeccable extensions here in New Hampshire. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone searching for perfection. I also need to say that the shampoo you get there will relax and amaze you, they take their time and massage your head and neck, its my favorite part of the visit, other than visiting with the owner Mark. Every person is unique, their lives are unique and he has an amazing way of doing what is right for you, for your life, for your goals all while making you feel beautiful. This week, he squeezed me in, sacrificing his lunchtime so that I could have new hair before I started a new job. Each client he juggled was unique in their demographic and his approach with them. He puts each client in his own heart and does what is best for them, even if that means not cutting their hair. I live on the seacoast and can easily get into a high end salon in Portsmouth.. but would rather drive an hour to Manchester and experience the love and kindness Mark and his staff give to their clients. The the last time I had a hair cut was about 7-8 months ago in NYC due to the fact that I really do not trust anyone to give me the results that I want. Yes, I am super picky... and while I usually look up places in Portsmouth because I live there, I decided to give Manchester a chance since I work by there. And literally, that was the best thing I did for myself. Lol I had Mark cut my hair and damn, he was so knowledgeable and super serious about giving me the cut that I was hoping for. All the staffs were super friendly and I don't know about you guys, but I like walking into a clean and chicly designed place filled with staffs that all had awesome hairstyles and were all very attractive. I had my hair cut and colored by Christina. She was fantastic. I was not sure what I wanted as I had seen the same hair stylist for many years, and he had moved away so I was a little nervous. She really made me feel at ease about going to a new place and seeing someone new. I basically just showed her what I had done in the past with different colors and cuts and then from there I let her do what she wanted with very little guidance. My cut was awesome, I love it. The color is fantastic, and the service as a whole was so relaxing. I really was looking for a stylist who could just use their knowledge to give me a style which would look good on me and Christina was able to do that. She did such a great job. I have been coming to this salon now for 7 years. I live 6 hours away in PA, but wait until my visits to NH to get my hair cared for by Mark at Phillip Mark Salon. He takes the time to discuss your wants and expectations at the beginning of every appointment. I am a very dark brunette, and he has always taken great care with glossing in a shade that accentuates and compliments my natural color and highlights.
