BEFORE each rotation make WU provide in writing the number of patient cases required to qualify. THEY DONT CURRENTLY DO THIS. Next - In writing, have the clinic and clinical instructor VERIFY, that the clinic confirms the patient cases to be completed. REQUIRE WU and CI/Clinic to provide you with your patient cases weekly so you know where you stand against the schools requirement. WU choose (WU control) the 3rd clinical rotation at a Hospital. The hospital placed student (hospital control) with a Clinical Instructor (CI) that had not been one for 6-7 yrs. She was a poor communicator, missed countless days over 11 weeks (WU shortened by 1 week) where the student was sluffed off onto other PTs at the last minute - (CI had control). To add, her schedule had countless appt cancellations (student - no control). Per usual - Student paid for the move, paid double rent for 3 months, rotation ends on a Friday and WU Grad was on Monday. Student qualified by completing CAPTE requirements. Student packs up and moves 1000 miles home, goes to take state exam and can't sign up, waits patiently. Student gets a call from DPT President 4 weeks later saying student didnt see enough patients and must re-take the FULL rotation 12 weeks - not just the missing hours/patients. Student will now miss window to take state & national exam by 6 months, will lose 4-5 months of good income and early loan repayment. Will finally start a new DPT job and immediately begin paying on a large 6 figure loan. Oh ya, not to forget, the student was on the last interview to get hired by her 2nd clinical location. So thats gone too.

It is magical, beautiful and a super special…read moreplace for littles (and their families, too). ***Please don't be alarmed by all the old reviews from 5 plus years ago. I've heard that LVPPP was indeed a very different school back then! Totally different leadership and teachers.*** First off, a little background on me- I have a degree in childhood development and early education, but first and foremost, I am a parent. And I want to be as involved and connected with my child's life as much as possible. I also fully understand that every child and every family's needs are different. So for us, LVPPP was an ideal fit and we are so happy with our decision to send our daughter there. This preschool fulfills all my wants and prayers for my child's first school experiences outside of our home. Some main highlights: 1. Teachers who are loving, nurturing and care about every single child's life and sees them as whole individuals and unique. My daughter absolutely LOVES her teacher and that's saying a lot for a child who is extremely attached to her mother and has separation anxiety. LVPPP teachers help prepare children and their parents for the transition being "away" from their families for a few hours at a time. They are so patient, so empathetic and really take the time to honor each child's feelings and individuality while modeling cooperation, co-regulation and communication. It is a very warm and home-like environment. 2. Community of caregivers, parents, families who all are working together for the school and the children. LVPPP is a co-op school and is part of the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools, which is a network of organized co-ops focused on the principle that the best education will result from an active partnership among parents, teachers, and children. Being a volunteer in my child's classroom 2-3 times a month really has allowed me to get to know the people who actually see my child- I know the teachers very well and also know every single parent and child closely, much like extended family. We have playdates and help watch each others children outside of school as a result, and this has been invaluable benefit being part of this school- where lifelong relationships are fostered. 3. Child-directed, PLAY and inquiry based learning philosophy. PLAY is the work of the child. LVPPP is Reggio Emilia inspired and we love that. It follows my child's natural curiosity and focused on the process versus end product in learning and development. LVPPP's director is extremely knowledgeable and passionate in this area and empowers both students and families to be active agents in their environment. The environment is set up to invite play and exploration. Children engage in messy play, engage all their senses, challenge their fine and gross motor skills, and really tinker and experiment in open-ended play. There's also a big emphasis on social emotional development and regulation. The campus itself is beautiful and every detail has been well thought out to provoke exploration, discussion and creativity. 4. It's a non-profit that's trying to serve the community, providing high quality early childhood education to families in the area. It strives to be very accessible, diverse, inclusive and welcoming to all. All backgrounds are celebrated and family structures. I appreciate the fact that the tuition is quite reasonable and allows families from various levels of means still be able to access a preschool with the bells and whistles you may find at higher end preschools, but it's due to the joint effort of hard work that the families and teachers have contributed from their own time, effort and dedication to make the school what it is. 5. Health and safety is taken seriously especially during this COVID era. The director and leadership stay atop local health authority recommendations and goes above based on the input of the families and what they're comfortable with. We have been very happy with the pragmatic approach that LVPPP takes in trying to ensure the students stay healthy but also understanding that nothing is perfectly avoidable.

We told the director at the time what our situation was and she was ok with it. But soon after they complained every day about my kid just because she didn't like coming in from playing outside. My kid needed a little more prompting when it came to transitions. My kid also had some therapists to come in and work with them. My kid was also not there all day because my kid went to a public preschool in the morning and got dropped off for lunch and the rest of the day at Temple Beth. Teacher Robin absolutely had no patience for my child and she had no poker face about it. After a couple months the director gave me an ultimatum and said if I want my kid to continue at Temple Beth, then someone needs to be with my kid during daycare hours. So what's the point of me paying for this school? Fyi this happened in 2015-2016. I heard that teacher Robin is the Director now and I don't know how that lady got that position. I am so disappointed with this place. I finally got a call back from another preschool/daycare just in time with that ultimatum and left Temple Beth. The other preschool I took my kid to was understanding of my situation and worked with my kids therapists to help them have a successful day. After that, my kid thrived and everything got better.

My child has been able to learn so much from all the wonderful lessons, teachers and cultural diversity. They are an inclusive, communicative, professional and child centered community, we love TBI!

One thing that really stood out to me was the career support after graduation. The job fair hosted by the school gave me the opportunity to connect directly with hospitals and recruiters, and it ultimately helped me secure my first RN job! A huge thank you to Brittany Crow in Career Services for all of her guidance and support. She was incredibly helpful throughout the process and truly cared about helping students succeed after graduation. Her advice and encouragement made such a difference for me. Nursing school is definitely challenging, but I'm thankful for the opportunities, connections, and experiences I gained at WCU Ontario. Excited to officially start my career as an RN!

I want to start by saying that the instructors in this program have been excellent. The theory and…read moreclinical faculty I've worked with are knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly invested in student learning. My frustration has been with the administrative side of the program. In my experience, communication with administration and advising has been slow and often unclear. Emails can take days to receive a response, and when responses do come they do not always directly answer the question that was asked. Calling the phone numbers listed in official emails has also been difficult, as I have often been unable to reach someone who can provide help. I have had several experiences like this during the program. One example that stood out was when I received urgent reminder emails stating that I needed to submit a Live Scan form by the end of the day or I would not be able to continue to the next term. At that time, I had not even been informed of my upcoming schedule, and I was no longer enrolled in the course that required the Live Scan. This created confusion and unnecessary stress. When I tried to resolve the issue, I called the numbers listed in the email but could not reach anyone. I then used the school's website live chat, which connected me to the front desk, who then transferred me to the same program assistant I had originally been trying to reach. After explaining the situation, I was given another phone number to call, which also did not work. What makes situations like this frustrating is the difference in expectations. Students are expected to meet strict deadlines with serious consequences if something is missed, yet getting clear answers or support from administration often required multiple attempts and several days. In a program where missing a requirement or class can result in being dropped and taking on additional debt, timely and clear communication is critical. Again, the instructors I've had have been great. My experience with the administrative side of the program, however, has been difficult and at times felt unsupported.

Since Cristina took over as the director (1-2years ago), I have seen an improvement with the staff, security, cleanliness, and curriculum. She also implemented the online Kinderlime app that allows parents to view pictures of their kids throughout the day, eat/sleep/potty schedule, activities and will message you with important info about your child or about what is going on with the center. She is seen everywhere around the center making sure everything is ran smoothly, fixing things, cutting branches that interfere with the playground area, plunging a toilet like today, volunteering with parents on a weekend to improve the daycare, fundraising for a new playground, working on stricter security measures, etc. This woman unstoppable. A force to be reckoned with. My daughter had Lidia as an infant (treated my daughter like her own, but does not work there any longer), had Ms. Brenda / Ms. Taylor & Ms. Lilliana (My dream team) when she was 1-2yrs old. My daughter Loves these ladies, especially Ms. Taylor. She currently has Ms. Kammy, whom is the BEST for this age group. She is great with the kids. My daughter has learned so much in her classroom.
