My appointment with Dr. Michelle Lin at My Family Doc left me feeling rushed, dismissed, and unable…read moreto discuss one of the most serious reasons I had sought medical care. The main problems were that she abruptly limited me to three concerns without explaining that restriction in advance, firmly ended the discussion before I could disclose my history of domestic violence, and did not give me clear advance notice or a private opportunity to decline the presence of a male student. My appointment was scheduled for 4:00 p.m. I arrived at 3:00, had already completed the online paperwork, and promptly completed the additional paperwork given to me at the office. The staff brought me into an examination room very quickly, which I appreciated. At approximately 4:30, Dr. Lin entered the exam room and asked what brought me in. I explained that I had not seen a doctor in about five years, that this was my first medical appointment in a long time, and that I was prepared to follow her guidance regarding what needed to be addressed. She asked whether I had any questions or whether there was anything she should know, so I referred to a list of five concerns I had prepared. I began with what I believed were the smaller concerns: a new raised spot on my leg and my history of high testosterone. At that point, Dr. Lin told me I could discuss "one more thing." I was confused and asked whether she meant I was only allowed to mention one additional concern. She said yes. Had I been informed beforehand, or even at the beginning of the appointment, that I would only be permitted to discuss three concerns, I would have prioritized them differently. One of the primary reasons I sought medical care was that I had experienced domestic violence and wanted to discuss whether I needed to be medically evaluated. However, I had also been vomiting repeatedly during the previous week, had very little appetite, and ordinarily never vomit. Because those symptoms were immediate and concerning, I used my final permitted concern to discuss them. I then asked whether I could briefly mention one additional issue. Before I could explain that it involved domestic violence, Dr. Lin responded that she had other patients waiting for her. I understand that doctors have schedules and other patients, but I was also a patient who had been waiting for her. I waited a month for this appointment, arrived an hour early, completed all requested paperwork, and waited until approximately 4:30 to see her. I left the building by 4:47. I was also not given clear advance notice or a private, meaningful opportunity to decline the presence of the male student. Given the sensitive nature of what I intended to discuss, I feel I should have been asked directly and privately before he entered or remained in the room. I understand that certain medical concerns may require separate appointments. Had Dr. Lin listened to the full list, helped me prioritize it, and explained that we would need to schedule a follow-up visit, that would have been reasonable. What I found unreasonable was being invited to explain whether there was "anything she should know," only to be given an unexplained three-item limit after I had already begun with two items, and then being cut off before I could explain that the remaining concern involved domestic violence. Based on this appointment, I would not return to Dr. Michelle Lin or recommend her.

This review is long overdue...I've been seeing Dr. Toder for over 2.5 years now. I first visited…read moreDr. Toder in December 2021. I'd had chronic hip/back pain for 8 years at that point. The injury started with a simple dive/fall while playing basketball and got worse over time, impacting all aspects of my life. I had visited countless doctors and been "diagnosed" with a variety of issues ranging from a torn hip labrum to fibromyalgia...and I tried a variety of treatments - physical therapy, chiropractors, cortisone injections, muscle relaxants, you name it. Everything was meant to be a quick fix - and nothing really worked. There were definitely times I felt defeated and gave up on trying to get better. Fast forward to December 2021, and I skeptically took the advice of a friend to see Dr. Toder. He specializes in Osteopathic Manual Manipulation or "OMM". It was something I hadn't tried yet, so I gave it a shot. It was the best decision of my life! I could quickly tell this process was going to be different. My first appointment was 90 minutes and Dr. Toder took the time to analyze my symptoms and feel the muscles/tendons/bones/etc. He wanted to get to the SOURCE of the problem, not just the symptoms. All the other doctors I've seen in the past asked me about my symptoms but never took the time to get to the source. I don't understand why that's the typical/standard approach, but I know I won't be going anywhere else for any pain-related issues. Now, the process of getting better after 8 years was not quick. My body was used to operating incorrectly. We had to retrain the body. I was initially visiting Dr. Toder every 7-10 days for treatment. I would typically leave appointments feeling better than when I came in. At first, the benefits only lasted a few days, but that increased after each appointment. It quickly turned into me seeing Dr. Toder every 2 weeks and then to where I am now - maintenance mode (every 3-4 weeks). Not only are Dr. Toder's appointments working for me - they are relaxing and enjoyable. It's almost like getting a massage. I fall asleep during half my appointments. And the benefits are not only in the physical treatment. Dr. Toder has always taken the time to explain what's been going on with my body which has helped me make tweaks to get better on my own also (posture, diet, workout form, stretching, etc.). I finally feel like I have control over my life again and can challenge myself to do things that I couldn't over the prior 8 years. I 100% recommend Dr. Toder!

I am sorry that I have not updated my review as of yet; what happened caused a significant delay…read more My intent was to get appointments taken care of before my trip and during the month of October. Other events caused more delays, which is the reason why there are very few reviews. Needless to say, the care I needed was delayed as well as the update of this review. In 2024, I specifically requested Pueblo Imaging because I had a poor experience with Simon Med. I forgot how poor of experience I had until I went to Simon Med again in 2025; where I got worse service. This is not Alternative for Women's fault, but it is their fault for not updating their records when I requested Steinberg instead. I know this because my mother (who has worked with medical scheduling systems) asked if I had requested Pueblo Imaging previously. That being said, I felt a little more understanding that Pueblo called after I asked for Steinberg Imaging. What my grievance is is that Alternatives for Women said that I requested Pueblo Imaging October 2025. The other poor experience that I had with Alternatives for Women was the delay with obtaining an updated referral. After asking for Steinberg, I had to call a few times. Each time I called, I was told that I would receive an email with the new referral. It took a few tries that I ran out of time in October. To my surprise, Pueblo Imaging called. I would have gone there, but it would not have been covered. So, I contacted Alternatives for Women again to correct this as I requested Steinberg. I got an updated referral after my Yelp review, but it was too late. It was impossible to get it scheduled in October as planned. I also went through a chain of events following so I could not schedule an appointment. I didn't know what to say because I still believe that it will still be a review with few stars. They confused a request from 2024 with 2025 and said that I requested Pueblo. I think that it was still in their system from 2024 because I know what I said about Pueblo Imaging. I didn't plan on coming back. They have great supplements and great recommendations for me, but I just couldn't. I am sorry that I could not provide a 5 star review because she is good at what she does. Again, I am sorry for the delay. I would say yes, this is a good place to go. You just need to be on top of stuff like knowing which pharmacy is open and you need to contact them and be sure that they updated their records before getting referrals. Double check.

I dislike writing negative reviews, but since health is my #1 priority I care for other's health as well. ALONG with their wallets!! When I met Dr. Tice I was excited to find someone who specialized in hormones and from our conversation I 'thought' was integrative... Yup... big mistake. Had a TON of blood taken, then was prescribed a bunch of stuff, then shot up with testosterone and steroids at my follow up appointment. I am someone that does NOT even take ibuprofen unless necessary. He did not take the time to go other side effects, and to work with my holistic and integrative approach... he just couldn't wait to shoot me up... What put me over my threshold, and prompted me to share my experience is... I just received an INSANE BLOOD work bill. The doctor and office SHOULD have been upfront about the potential cost... its ridiculous. Still shocked... I had high hopes, but beyond disappointed. Do your research.
