I was told by the dealership that I needed a new engine. they quoted me a price of 8.5 K for the repair. I called two other area Ford dealerships and was given quotes of 9.3 K and 10.2 K. I started checking around for an auto repair shop to see if I could get a more reasonable price than the ones I had received from the dealerships. I called Vince's auto repair. and made an appointment to bring my car in to get it checked out. Vince called me the day after I dropped my car off and told me he didn't believe the noise was coming from my engine. He asked for my permission to do some diagnostics on my car to determine the possible cause. Vince found the source of the problem and repaired it for less than 2.5 K. (It wasn't the engine). I elected to fully pay at pick up instead of at delivery and the dispatcher told me that I could pay by either cash or check. However, the driver insisted that I pay in cash. Not really a problem for me since I was prepared either way. Just letting everyone else know to be prepared and lock down acceptable payment alternatives so there are no surprises. Also driver requested that I meet him in nearby parking lots on both pick up and delivery instead of my home addresses. Again, not a huge issue in my situation. I was happy to make it quicker for the driver to get on his way. But others may not be as flexible as I am with last minute changes to the loading and unloading locations. Bottom line- Even with these two minor inconveniences, I would use them again for sure the next time I need to ship a vehicle!
