The price for the job was highly competitive and the installation was done promptly and without issue. I was also pleased that the installation came with a 2 season warranty. The only problem that I had within 2 weeks of the installation ended up being a loose breaker on the air handler. I called for a service call and Dennis himself (owner) was out the following morning and corrected the problem within 10 minutes.

The price was much more competitive when compared with other quotes I received. Note: I noticed a one star review for Dp Marlatt but this review commented on a roofing job. I am commenting on the job they did installing a new heater and A/C. As far as I know DP Marlatt does not do roofing jobs.

They made it clear my roof was not at the best orientation (east-west rather than north-south, in the latter case they put the panels on the south side, in the former they must put them on both sides) for solar. I did a net present value (NPV) analysis to calculate the rate of return on my investment and it comes up as borderline, lower than most of my investments but higher than some. If my roof orientation was optimum, this project would probably be a yes. If I determine that electricity prices are going to go up substantially, I may still do this. The bottom line is however that this company is very up-front and diligent in explaining the work to prospective customers.

Rinker was the only one who provided a flat installation fee (that was also reasonable), a relatively quick installation appointment, and gave me answers to my questions that made sense and were consistent with appropriate practice. The protectors that were installed had higher capacity than another contractor's installation which I was told was "just enough." Just as important, the electrician left the installation sites clean and finished (the work to install one of the units appeared to take efforts that were above and beyond a simple installation however I was not charged any extra). I will continue to use Rinker whenever possible!

I also explained that I worked and see clients in my office and would have to block off time for the cleaning process. She indicated that if a deep cleaning is required, it will take approximately 4 hours, and their service tech would be able to determine arrival. I blocked off my calendar accordingly. When the tech arrived, he stated he was here to clean the HVAC, which would be about 2 hours. I asked about what if you need to do a deep cleaning for mold. He said that a deep cleaning would need to be scheduled separately as he was told this was only a standard cleaning and would not have time to perform a deep cleaning. I was confused and explained that the woman stated he would do deep if I needed to. He said that if a deep cleaning were required, it would need to be scheduled. I asked if there was an additional fee for them to come back, and he stated yes but was unaware of the charge. When I received my invoice, the labor breakdown charge for 135.00 and a separate charge for 20.00 plus tax for coil cleaner for 156.20, I contacted the office to pay but questioned why I was being charged for the coil cleaner that should be included in the service. The agent said that it was not. If I paid 20.00 for the cleaner, why do I not have the contents of the remaining cleaner? She scoffed at me. I also explained that coil cleaner at Home Depot is less expensive. She said I am sure it is, but we use our product, and this is a business, and as a business, there is a markup. I told her that she would lose my patronage based on her attitude and disregard for customers. She said, look, if we are going to lose you over 20.00, I don't know what to say--are you going to pay your bill with a credit card or not. I told her that she would not lose me over 20.00 but what appears to be a questionable charge and poor customer service. The woman was rude and not concerned other than collecting payment. I told her to send the invoice to collections, at which point she hung up the phone. I later called back to speak to an owner or manager to discuss my experience and to pay with my credit card---I was sent to voice mail. I left a message requesting that a supervisor or owner contact me. Certainly not impressed. It is hard to believe they have been in business for over 13 years if customers are treated poorly for inquiring.

Kevin was the first to respond. I couldn't be happier with the service. We are only there on weekends and he had no issue with meeting me there on Saturday morning. He pointed out some issues with earlier fixes that were not done correctly. He took care of all issues. I had asked if he would have to come back and he said I will make sure this is taken care of and you have water today. Kevin was very pleasant and personable. I would definitely use him again and highly recommend him.
