I needed to find something quicker and more affordable and be able to see the apartment before making a decision. So I found another place and decided to go elsewhere. I gave Forest Park $200 for part of the security deposit when I wanted them to hold the place just in case I couldnt find something else. When I found somewhere else I went in to retrieve that money I gave them as a SECURITY DEPOSIT! They did not give me back my money because somewhere in the application it states that money becomes theirs if I don't cancel the apartment within 24 hours. The positive out of all of this is now I know their true colors and even if I decided on this apartment complex I would lose more money because places that operate like this are out for their own benefit anyway. Them stealing $200 to me is well worth small claims court. And I may continue with the filing. Simply because I was not told or aware of them being able to keep my money for services not rendered. I WILL BE GETTING MY MONEY. Beware of this apartment complex.

During…read morethat two years, my apartment flooded six or eight times or more.I spent several weeks sleeping on my own couch, painkilllers and all, because the bedroom was unliveable. My kids and i had repeated sinus infections and respiratory problems. We lost antique furniture, books, papers. During that two years most of the time no one wanted to answer the door or the phone at the office. No one wanted to return phone calls. They got angry that I posted photos on facebook and instagram of the flooding and half an inch deep standing water in my bedroom after each flooding event, and tagged their location, and so they had my car towed from the handicapped spot in front of my apartment. The tow company admitted Morgan called them and asked them to tow my car, complete with handicapped placard hanging from the rear view mirror. The tow company wanted hundreds of dollars to give my car back that they stole right from in front of my apartment. There was black mold and red mold on the walls and floor, and on my furniture. I ended up in the hospital with respiratory problems. I had no money to pay the tow company that the office had called, so I lost my car. New Mills Run, LLC is owned by Birge Held, and they are horrible people who take advantage of handicapped people. It is not only not handicapped friendly, its dangerous. The apartment we were in was not safe for anyone to live in. They broke countless Federal laws about handicapped living spaces, and health department laws. The whole experience was a nightmare for me AND for my kids. Do NOT go there. There are far better places to sign a lease in Forest Park, Cincinnati than New Mills Run. The place should be closed down! Between the health risks and finding things like drugs and needles in the parking lot, and horrible things like human feces in the parking lot under the parking canopy I had to pay for every month...I can't even explain how horrible the whole experience was. The worst one was when there was half an inch STANDING water in my bedroom I shared with my daughter for over a month while they refused to help or fix it. It will take years for my kids and I to get over this experience

Then, we find that our ceiling in our laundry room is leaking where the dryer vent hooks up. So, the emergency maintenance guy comes out and unhook it. He then contacted the maintenance guy at the landings, and the guy never came out to fix it, or even check up on us. The emergency line people are awesome, but the maintenance people on site at the landings are awful. I would avoid this place at all costs. It is not worth the amount of money that you pay for these places.
