Reserved an apartment for a move in date in October. The thing is I was unable to see the apartment…read moreuntil that move in date. I needed to find something quicker and more affordable and be able to see the apartment before making a decision. So I found another place and decided to go elsewhere. I gave Forest Park $200 for part of the security deposit when I wanted them to hold the place just in case I couldnt find something else. When I found somewhere else I went in to retrieve that money I gave them as a SECURITY DEPOSIT! They did not give me back my money because somewhere in the application it states that money becomes theirs if I don't cancel the apartment within 24 hours. The positive out of all of this is now I know their true colors and even if I decided on this apartment complex I would lose more money because places that operate like this are out for their own benefit anyway. Them stealing $200 to me is well worth small claims court. And I may continue with the filing. Simply because I was not told or aware of them being able to keep my money for services not rendered. I WILL BE GETTING MY MONEY. Beware of this apartment complex.

Stay as far away from Mills Run as you can. Their apartments are overpriced and the management…read morestaff doesn't do anything to fix the issues that arise in the apartment. They left our bedroom and bathroom windows that were a fire hazard (would not open) for 8 months while we were living in the apartment. They blamed my BRAND NEW dryer for the blocked wall vent (I unboxed my dryer in the hallway as we were moving in and they blamed it within a couple of month after me moved in). My bathroom vanity had a stress fracture because it wasn't installed correctly and my friend leaning on it was magically enough to make it break cleanly and I still had to pay for a replacement. The neighbors do not have any respect for stomping, loud music, or parking in front of their own apartment. Parking space is a joke, they constantly change what you can and cannot do. You don't get to choose your Internet provider because they have a contract with a company that is from Indiana. The management staff is extremely rude and the regional manager, Carla Kelly, is very dismissive. They close the office early most days and refuse to answer their phone. They even let Maintenance enter our apartment without notice, leading us to get ring cameras for inside our home. They make you move out and don't give you a reason why (which is illegal because we have faced retaliation for exercising our rights as tenants).

Our windows leaked for six months from rain and we complained five times before they actually did something about it. I had to even move furniture after my C-section, just so the rain wouldn't ruin our furniture. The maintenance people never call back. Never communicate with each other and honestly don't even act like they care about you. If you need something fixed, do not count on the maintenance people. Then, we find that our ceiling in our laundry room is leaking where the dryer vent hooks up. So, the emergency maintenance guy comes out and unhook it. He then contacted the maintenance guy at the landings, and the guy never came out to fix it, or even check up on us. The emergency line people are awesome, but the maintenance people on site at the landings are awful. I would avoid this place at all costs. It is not worth the amount of money that you pay for these places.

Also,The children of the complex run rampant in the parking lots and hallways I the summer so beware, you might randomly walk out to a vandalized car one day. Could call the police but not much they can do since the lot camera Don't work. Good luck though but remember, if the price looks too good to be true, it probably is. Almost forgot, the company will try to take your deposit hoping you'll just accept the fee without challenge, so be prepared to have a back and forth with management once you're moved out. This place is a terrible excuse for an apartment complex.
