Golfing at Duke University with my goodies from PGA Superstore.

Service is great! Selection is vast! Location is meh but who cares about that!?! I visit from Commiefornia to see my parents and each time I go here I buy clubs because tax is cheaper than Commiefornia. Last time I bought 2 Titleist SM9s, a pair of Adidas BOA shoes and other goodies. This visit I bought a Scotty Cameron Super Select Newport 2 Putter and NY Yankees towel. So as you can see, I find what I need and will drop the cash for quality. The place is huge and prices competitive and the service top notch. Highly recommended for the serious golfer!

Good stock of golf gear and clothing. Retail prices, not too many bargains. Look for their sales.

I'll start this review by saying I've recently gotten back into the game after a close to 10 year…read morehiatus, and I am admittedly a 15-20 handicap. When reading about the PXG fitting process, I was incredibly excited to go and get new clubs. I live close to an hour away from Paramus. Upon realizing that I might be a few minutes late, I made sure to call the store and let them know I would be around 5 minutes late. I was told, by staff to "hurry up, because our appointments are stacked back to back." Upon getting to the store, I was asked to wait in the waiting area. Around 5 minutes later, my fitter, Joseph Monforto, comes out and greets myself and 2 friends. This is where I started to feel like a number. Joe was not good at what he does. After seeing I was a high spin golfer, Joe kept changing shafts to lower spin. Understandable. Yet he not once adjusted my lie on my club. But Joe tried to change my swing multiple times, which is not the job of a club fitter. It was one shaft after another. Try this. Now try this. It got to the point where I felt completely rushed, started rushing my swing, and was all over the place. After 50 minutes of sheer frustration, I was told "ok, you need to finish up because your time is almost up." The problem was I still felt like I hadn't found a club setup I was comfortable with. By the time my "fitting" time was enforced, Joe informed me that the Project X shaft, 6.5, is the best for me. Still frustrated, I said ok, and asked for the build sheet. I received it in an email around 15 minutes later. On my build sheet was the price for shafts I didn't know were not stock (extra 230.00) and 60 dollars for shipping, which frustrated me even more. Joe contacted me a day later through email and asked if I was interested in buying. I let him know that I'm not dropping 950.00 on clubs I've only hit 10-20 times and am not comfortable with. I also informed Joe that I had a fitting at Club Champion the very next day. Jake Morales, the fitting manager, ended up contacting me a few days later. I explained my fitting concerns and he said that "Joe was very distracted by your two friends." One friend sat in a chair and watched, the other was super into the fitting process and asked Joe a few questions. As someone who is in the customer service industry, you have to learn to block out distractions and focus on your customers/clients. So if this is Joe and PXG's excuse for a terrible fitting, then they're actively employing someone who is inexperienced and not fit for the service industry. I asked Jake for a refund on my fitting. He called back a few days later and said that my fitting was non refundable and that I could come up and get fitted again with him. I had already explained to Jake that not only do I live an hour away, but I also told Joe I was getting fitted at club champion. So they obviously knew I wasn't going to buy from them, and their offer of a free refitting was disingenuous and a way to try to assuage my frustration with their company and process. Also, by the time Jake had gotten back to me about the refund, I had already had 2 fittings at club champion and bought the 2021 Taylor Made 790's with a KBS C-Lite Shaft. They were thorough, explained the process, explained the price of everything, and even provided me with the build sheet while still in store. Any questions or concerns I had were answered by the fitter on the spot. In short, I EXPRESSLY DO NOT RECOMMEND getting fitted at PXG. Club Champion's fitting price is the same, the session is a half hour longer, their pros are more knowledgeable, you get a choice of almost any club you want (even PXG's). They also don't get distracted by "friends."

I explained why I was there and he directed me towards the back of the store. Within 20 seconds someone else approached me and said they could help. The gentleman suggested I get a swing evaluation, the cost of which would be deducted from the sale price of new irons should I decided to purchase a set. I set up an appointment with Erin for later in the day. Later that day Erin set up different clubs for me to hit over the course of about an hour in their simulator. After about 90 golf shots over more than an hour, we agreed that the Taylor Made Qi irons suited my swing the best. She was very thorough, trying difficult shafts and lies before we finalized our choice. I plan on going back to Erin to select a couple of hybrid clubs in the near future. All the people Golf Galaxy in Paramus were extremely helpful, especially compared to PGA Superstore, right across the street on Rte. 17 in Paramus. (I have a separate review of that experience...) This is the 2nd set of irons I've purchased from them. I recommend them highly!

I've been a weekend hacker for approximately 15 years of playing golf. My decision to start taking…read morelessons is largely due to COVID and not being able to snowboard (my main sport) for the year. I purchased a full package of lessons/fitting for a full year (25 lessons) My coach is Chris Sweet and he is an excellent coach. For the first two months, my swing was deconstructed into different parts and he does a great job of not overloading you with adjustments to make. During this time, my swing fell apart but it makes sense - especially if you understand the plateau of latent potential. From my initial swing evaluation to only 8 lessons and 10 weeks later, I've gained about 35 yards of carry distance on my 7 iron (130 yards to 165 yards) adding a nice draw into my shot shape and I haven't even gotten a club fitting yet. I think this speaks volumes about the quality of instruction I received with Chris. If you're familiar with learning something new and improving at it as quickly as possible, you'll know it takes commitment/practice on your part. They have a plethora of resources available to become a student of the game and continue learning even while you're not striking balls. Additionally, you can review past lessons and refer to them if something stops working with your swing which was critically important for me.

I paid for my classes which included being fitted for clubs yet I was never afforded the latter. I…read moresent multiple emails to arrange for the fitting and never received a response. Also the instruction I received seemed to be more confusing than helpful. Since I've completed classes there I've spent a lot of time reviewing YouTube videos and reading books and I realized my issue was my hands. If you're not holding the club correctly you will never get your form correct especially on the back swing. Once I figured this out, my swing improved dramatically. But this is something they should have been stressed at GolfTEC. I felt as though the instructor was disconnected insofar as training and was just "mailing it in." I'm not saying it was worthless because that would not be fair - there were some good pointers that I picked up there but I felt there should have been more emphasis on basic concepts that may have made a huge difference for me. Are they friendly? Absolutely. They were never rude. They were always genuinely friendly. My recommendation is read as much as you can in advance and watch as many videos as you can before you go there because I doubt if you will receive any strong technical explanation (no handouts were given at all just some scribble on a board in the room). It isn't worth it in my opinion. I honestly believe that , with a little training, I could explain more than I received: when you are not good at something and then figure things out you can readily share those pitfalls with others.

I played my round in less than an hour and shot a 93!!!!! I settled down toward the end but it was too late lol! 51 front and 42 back...I could have easily shot in the 80s. I almost wanted to play another round. My driver was wayyyy off today! The owner's father said it was A tough course, so I will take it! What can I say, I loved it! It had a family kind of feel to it and that earns my business. So if you are 12 handicap golfer like myself (I blew it today), scratch golfer or just a hack, I urge you to take your swing down to Go Low Golf!
