We are long time out-of-town customers and wear the pieces we have purchased often. My last purchase was Michael's design/handcrafted destination bracelet which I rarely remove. Basically I add other jewelry pieces along with the hand hammered cuff enhanced the magnolia tree and quarter moon. I enjoy every piece I've purchased (including my guy's bracelet). We both are complimented on the quality and uniqueness which is another reason we continue adding to buy from Michael and Tiffany. We have rarely needed to have any repairs but when necessary the quality of the repair and the fair price makes it worth waiting to go to this family owned business.

My sisters' trip to Holly & Brooks was so memorable that word of it made it all the way from one…read morecoast to the other within hours... and not in a good way. First let me say that both of my sisters have exquisite taste. They are both well-traveled, well-groomed, polite and have money to spend. They both have had a very rough couple of months as of late and were looking forward to a little retail therapy. They would have spent some (or perhaps a generous amount) of that money last Monday, with any encouragement, but apparently the clerk in attendance had a bee in her bonnet and wanted to put the kibosh on that scenario. Perhaps the clerk has had a rough couple of months too, but if sales is your livelihood, snap out of it or stay home... that should not be the customers' problem. You are in retail and it's your job to be friendly and helpful. One sister had secured her dressing room and the second sister approached. The Clerk (I would refer to her as sales associate, but as I mentioned before, she clearly wasn't interested in sales or even making guests in the store feel comfortable or welcome) told the second sister she would have to wait, as the dressing rooms were occupied. The Clerk went away and the sister with the dressing room invited in the second sister. Both sisters were in the dressing room in various states of undress when the clerk threw open the curtain and said, "How's that fitting?" Here, I will insert a note to the extraordinarily rude and out-of-line clerk: NEVER disregard the privacy of potential customers. Whipping open the curtain is an emotional assault. It is customary in civilized circles (from Bergdorf Goodman right on down to Target) to approach the outside of the curtain, inquire cheerfully as to how things are going in there, and ask if there is anything needed in a different size, or can I get you anything else? THESE are the questions. And THIS is how it's done. From behind the curtain! But wait. There's more. So the second sister is trying on a dress that has a belt with it. The first sister thought it much more flattering on the second sister without the belt. An aside here: the first sister spent decades in the fashion industry in New York City. She knows what looks good. She knows how to style. She knows what style is. Apparently, The Clerk thought she did too. She grabbed the belt from the second sister and said, "NO! It goes like this!" She wrapped the obi type sash around my sister's waist and commanded, "Put your finger HERE!" What are we... six years old and having our first lesson in tying bows on Christmas presents? Again, RUDE and totally uncalled for! When people enter a store looking to brighten their day with a little shopping, the last thing they need is condescension and unfriendly treatment. Needless to say, my sisters both left this store with nothing but a very sour taste in their mouths courtesy of The Clerk. In the words of the Dalai Lama, "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible." It also promotes the spending of money when you treat people nicely. Just sayin'.

We have been customers of MP Demetre Jewelers twice now. It started when my 16 yo son decided that…read morehe would use the money he earned from his summer job to buy a Hamilton watch. We vacation in South Carolina in December and since we don't have a local Hamilton Dealer my son waited until our December visit. When we walked into the store, I was worried that he wouldn't be taken seriously, as he was a teenager and kind of knew what he wanted, but wasn't quite sure. Andrew was who waited on him was awesome with my son. He allowed him to try on different watches. We even went to lunch and came back so that my son made sure that he was buying a watch that he really wanted. Fast forward to this December, he graduates from high school in May and wanted a watch as his gift. My son emailed Andrew and asked when he'd be working while we were in the area and set up a day that we'd come in. I gave Andrew the price range I wanted to work within and he showed my son everything in his price range and helped him find the watch he chose, which wasn't a watch he thought he'd like before we went to the store and tried things on. I can honestly say that we were treated as well as a customer buying his second or third Rolex, each visit. Andrew is my now who my son will buy his future watches from. He wouldn't go anywhere else, because of how well he was treated. Thank you Andrew. Your kindness, honesty and knowledge is what draws my son to you.
