I had a very frustrating experience with the billing and administrative practices at Town Center…read moreOrthopaedics. I visited for an acute hand injury and the office verified my insurance before the appointment, but no one informed me that a PCP referral was required for coverage. After the visit, the claim was denied and I was left with a bill that was eventually sent to collections, forcing me to go through months of appeals with my insurer and even the Virginia Bureau of Insurance. During that process it became clear that the claim was submitted as a specialist office visit and not coded as urgent care, even though the visit was for an acute injury. The state review indicated the provider could submit a corrected claim for reconsideration, but the billing office never corrected or resubmitted it. This entire situation could have been avoided with basic communication or proper billing follow-up. If I had been informed upfront that a referral was required, I would have simply obtained one. Patients should not have to deal with collections and regulatory appeals because of administrative oversights and lack of transparency.

I saw Dr. George Kratalian who is a foot specialist for a foot problems that occurred in June 2025…read more The doctor diagnosed me with plantar fasciitis. His diagnosis was wrong, so he had to rule out his own diagnosis during a follow up visit six weeks later by sending me to get an MRI of my foot, recommending seeing a neurologist, and getting blood work for a series of illnesses. I had the MRI done and when I visited his office for a follow up visit several several month later, he told me that I needed to go back to Fairfax radiology to get an MRI of my toes since he had not specified toes. I went back to Fairfax radiology and my insurance charged me an exorbitant amount of money simply because the Dr. had forgotten to note toes in his order to the radiologist. I spoke with the radiologist at Fairfax radiology and she said that it should've been a specified in the first place. If I were you, I would avoid going to this doctor. This has cost me a lot of money and time had he been more precise and knowledgeable.

A few months ago, I wrote a pretty detailed review on social media . Since then, I have had over 12…read more-14 questions from both sites from potential/current rehab clients of LSTC, the most recent a week ago. Given its been some time since my past review thought I would update but be briefer geared to questions I have received. In my last review I noted the advantage LSTC has combining the Therapists with Trainers so you are never left on your own as with most other PT Centers. This is the single best advantage over its competitors BUT it relies on the quality of staff. I was fortunate with having a very good Therapist who eventually left but was fortunate, having seen many other therapists work on others, to request Angie Austin step in when Leigh left mid-Therapy and she not only picked up working on my plantar fasciitis (and then right shoulder) but also worked with my orthopedist to help fit my orthotics. She helped me recover with rigorous exercises (she has eyes behind her because when I am doing something wrong with the trainers, she comes across to correct my technique) and after a PRP procedure on my right shoulder and a very thorough evaluation by Sydney Kosik (which was concurred by my by Doctor) started working with me. After an absence due to travel, I returned and in Angie's absence, started back with Sydney. I'm hoping to split my time with both of them as they are really good in spending effort and time working on muscle groups that need strengthened and each have slightly different techniques that I can use to build back strength. So, in response to questions on any flags to be aware of, here are a few: Assuming you are there for a few weeks, lock on a therapist who you feel is making the effort to help you (i.e., manual therapy). And have a back-up because the good ones seem to leave. If Angie and/or Sydney leave, I will revert back to anyone of several other therapists I know and respect (and use as with my back issues). Angie was nice enough to ensure I had the right bands to use at home and Sydney ensured I had a refresher after being away for some time. LSTC has decent pandemic procedures. However, no temperature checks as with others. And at times they are a bit lax with the 6-foot rule placing folks too near each other. I now wear 2 masks just to be careful. They do wipe down all equipment. Most all equipment available except no Electrotherapy Equipment/dry needling which can be quite helpful. Its one reason my wife left and if it were my back, I would not be there (now with my 6 year + therapist who uses both) Not much flexibility when you run out of visits. Other Centers allow you to self-pay what your Insurance pays. Here its more expensive so not worth paying as I was willing to do. However, its really convenient if you live in the area, front office staff including claims very pleasant to deal with, approvals easy to obtain (a huge plus); trainers are helpful to work with (they do seem short-staffed) and appointments easy to schedule (assuming you don't mind who are with...in my case I have to plan). Hopefully I have provided a useful update by responding to several questions received. Feel free to reach out with any additional feedback.
