    Feeding the goats

It's a Great place for family experience in the beautiful Ocala. Easy to find and they have refreshment mini shop.

The Ocala Petting Zoo is worth the trip. It costs $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children. They have small bags of food for a $1.00 or a large bag for $4.50. Wear closed toed shoes. The animals are super friendly and loving. You are able to get full on attention from them whether you want to pet or feed them. One of the goats tried to play ball with my grandson by running after every kick. He had an amazing time. There is one animal that spits. The llama named Cosmo is cautious and reacts if you come up on him. He is super amusing to watch and if you are not careful you will need a good clean up after he's done with you. He launched a few mouthfuls at us and thankfully missed. It was all in good fun and he gave us a pretty good laugh. They offer sinks to wash up before and after your visit. The staff are very friendly.

This place was very quaint and had a great variety of animals to encounter. It was a great memory made with my two children and their grandparents. I highly recommend visiting if you have young kids and are in the area. Mine absolutely loved feeding all the animals.

This is a really fun place to spend an afternoon with kids or just as adults. My friend and I had a great time feeding and petting all the different animals. It's a big space with many different pens. Most of the animals you feed are pony's, goats, lamas, cows and pigs. But it's really fun to see all the animals personality's. They have all become accustomed to growing towards people with the food bags they sell so it's easy to get up close with the animals. Also several hand wash stations are provided.

It's exciting to see a small business flourish and that is what this local zoo is doing. Though there's mostly farm type animals they are well behaved and friendly. There are a few exotics such as a kangaroo, llamas and emus. All petting and feeding is encouraged as you can buy feed there. Have you ever ridden a camel? Well, you can do it here! It's a small additional charge and it'll be a fond memory for the kids. One of the best legends here is Elliot the Peking duck. He was raised in an apartment with other animals and was rescue to live here. That makes him one lucky duck! He loves hugs and pets and wonders all around the zoo. Of interest may be a picnic type area where you could have a child's birthday. If I were younger I sure would like to celebrate my birthday here!

The Llama trying to found any snacks lol..

I found this nice place in the way to Ocala..looking for a great moments in family and voila..!!! Beautiful animals and sweet people!!

Nice little petting farm. The animals are very friendly (except for the notoriously mean little lemur, but he isn't in a location where he's any danger.) It was only $8 per person for an unlimited amount of time with the animals. They have a little part where you can walk in with some of the animals. Some of the goats will jump on you, I don't mind it though. Overall it was a nice trip.

Too expensive , no petting for the children . Disappointed that there was no interaction or detailed information about the animals.

If you have small children and happen to be in the area, you should come here. There is nothing else in Ocala aside from your grandparents.

I took my 2 year old son on Halloween. It was surprisingly not very busy that day but, apparently, that was not the norm. My son was too tired to explore much and just wanted to be held. So I decided to take him on the hayride. It was a nice ride out to a pasture where a herd of cows were grazing. The driver took us right into the middle of the herd and they swarmed us, knowing it meant food. Alex was scared by the cows, but I was impressed and enjoyed feeding the cows the feed they provided. I would say we were out there for at least 10 min before they took us back. Again I tried to get Alex to play, unsuccessfully. But we did take a short walk through the corn maze which he seemed to like because it was an easy path to follow. After that, he explored some tractors they had set up in the play area. I tried to get him interested in romping around in the hay play fort, but he wasn't very interested. The farm offered another little ride which we got on and I think he liked it. I know I did. I'm such a kid at heart. We didn't hang out long after that because Alex was just exhausted and so was I. I feel like it was a nice time shared with my son. It had potential to be much better if he had taken a nap that day and was well rested. I thought the pumpkin patch was small. The play area was really nice. They did offer a concession stand. One of my coworkers said the burgers were great and a good price. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to taste them myself. Since this was their first year, I definitely see room for improvement. It definitely has potential to become something really great. It was definitely worth the $8 spent.

We also saw: 4 highland cows!! , 2 different types of pigs, a family of sheep (+Anya the sassiest girl), cats, dogs, goats, turkeys (that like hugs but scared meee), guinea fowls, chickens and hens, mini horses and a peacock that sounds like Kevin from UP in the nighttime !! I can't think of anything that is more fun than spending an hour with two different capybara babies. Mango and Kiwi. On the way in we petted the camels. They came right up to the fence and stuck their large heads out. They were seeking attention because they very used to being petted. We were startled when one made a loud guttural braying sound. The owner explained they were letting us know they want carrots. We had about 20-25 minutes with each capybara so all together the encounter was an hour. We got a plate of raw sweet potato sticks and romaine lettuce leaves to feed each animal. They were about 4 months old and Mango the male will be about 140 pounds full grown and Kiwi was the runt of a different litter and is expected to be approximately 90 pounds when full grown which is a very small capybara. It was just my friend and me so we spent time petting and feeding them. They love water so their coat was smooth but fur like a beaver. They are in the same family as guinea pigs so they make a similar sound. They have leathery pads on the bottom of their back legs because they can kick like a kangaroo. They like being scratched under their chin and relax so much they fall over and then are disoriented about what just happened. Hilarious. Bambi's Mini Petting Farm has several different types of animal encounters including baby doll sheep and two miniature cows. They had three goats which were having kids the following weekend and you can either tour the farm or select to bottle feed the baby goats. They have plans for a holiday tour and are getting a sloth.
