I am so grateful for this place! I moved here with my rowdy, high energy dog and I had a baby shortly before my husband deployed so here I am raising a newborn baby and trying to give a high maintenance dog the attention and exercise he needs and doing it all alone! I love that I can drop my dog off at PetSuites for the day to run and play with other big dogs and burn off some of his energy since we haven't been able to do our daily walks. I have also boarded him here twice and I feel like they take very good care of my boy. They follow instructions well with the food and supplements. I like to pay extra for the Pawgress report and he always looks happy and well in the photos. Furthermore, I like to sign my dog up for a nail trim sometimes when I drop him off for group play and they always do a good job. I've had him bathed and brushed out at the end of boarding visits and he comes home smelling fresh and clean! The employees here are always nice. I honestly don't know what I would do if I didn't have Petsuites' help with my dog. read more

I will update this as soon as my dog visits their day care and boarding.** We came in today for PetSuites' grand opening day. We were looking forward to do a tour because the boarding hotel whewe take our dog, Princeton, is a bit far from where we live. PetSuites is open from 6:30am-8pm, which I think is a good business hours especially when the pet owners go to work. Coming in, Petsuites stands out from all the other pet boarding/daycare places. We were told that they started a soft opening a few days ago and there are a lot of pets that are already boarded. With than in mind, the establishment is pet odor free. The reception is very posh and is stylish. The whole establishment is very colorful. When it comes to the boarding area, their "townhouses" stand out because there's a tv (they said they keep the tv on Animal Planet) and little pets. There are also boarding rooms if you are on a tight budget. The backyard/play area has a little pool for the dogs. It is clean as well and by looking at the dogs who were playing there, I can tell that they love it. Overall, we are impressed this boarding/daycare establishment. The staff are all nice and very helpful. We are looking forward to bring Princeton to stay fo daycare or for the night. We are also planning to bring Princeton for a grooming because they offer grooming services as well. read more

My puppy Peaches has been there about 4 times for the puppy preschool program and she had so much fun. She hasn't been there for a couple weeks since she just got spayed, but she is very eager to go back and play again. The staff are very friendly as well. read more

THEY ONLY FEED YOUR DOG HALF THEIR MEALS PetSuites located at 333 Taylor Rd, Chesapeake, VA, clearly DO NOT have the best interest of your pets. They lack training, process flow, and professionalism. This is the SECOND TIME that my two dogs have only been fed HALF of their meals during their 3 and 4 night stays. Somehow, I was ignorant to think they would fix their error the first time, and gave them another chance. Obviously, you can see how unprofessional this is. Even with the individual bags CLEARLY PRINTED in bold sharpie with their name, and AM/PM feeding--- they screw up the most essential and basic task. If they can't achieve this, what makes you think they are actually doing anything beyond feeding, such as truly walking or completing playtime with your pet? I caution all customers who take their dogs here. Be weary of how much care they put into your pets. Not only did it inconvenience my time and energy- but more importantly the HEALTH and well-being of my dogs, which they clearly showed is NOT a priority. There are no excuses, and ALL STAFF need to be re-trained properly, and micromanaged to ensure they can are actually doing their jobs. After reviewing the initial paperwork on instructions for my dogs with the general manager-- it is clear of my simple directions that their staff clearly wrote on the paper. FEED TWICE A DAY. How do you mess that up?!? It appears they fed them some mornings, and some evenings. Clearly, half the bags were still unopened and in my bag upon check out/pick up. I provide the exact amount of food they need during their stay, nothing more, nothing less for every meal. Do they not verify any leftover food when they return the owner with the bag??? Clearly not. Also, of the medication my dog was suppose to have during our first visit, they only provided 1/4 of the pills he was suppose to have which was again, clearly written on the instructions. They lost a customer and everyone should be warned of what "services" you are actually paying for. PETSUITES- what a complete disaster and undeserving of claiming the statement on your website, "Your pet is about to have the best time ever.." COMPLETE LIES. I just picked up my dogs today, they seem like they had a great time! They've been snoozing since we got home Check in was easy & quick. They didn't seem to ask many questions, but they did make sure my dogs medication was given properly and that I am very thankful for. They were very accommodating, I called the day before we were scheduled for pickup and they were able to give my boys a nail trim within the hour! My little one kind of smells like urine, as well as their blankets. However, I did pick them up a day early, and they were scheduled to get a bath the next day. He's known to have accidents so I understand how his blanket could have gotten messy. I love the selection of toys, treats, and even T-shirts and totes! It looks very clean inside, all the pets seemed happy to be there. I'm definitely bringing my boys here again next time Doobie Doo & Cooper say thank you! read more

I am not one to post a poor review but I am very disappointed with how my first day went with Pet Suites and frankly upset that my dog was in this situation for the last 6.5 hours. I dropped my dog off for her evaluation at 8am and informed the staff I would be back at 230 to pick her up. Upon returning to pick her up I was informed that my dog had been in a kennel the entire time with one potty break and did not get her evaluation done due to staffing issues. When I asked why I was not called to be informed that they were unable to do the evaluation as scheduled, I was not given a reason. On top of that, when they brought my dog out for me to take her home she was soaking wet. Yes it is raining today, but why are we letting dogs sit in a kennel soaking wet and not even towel dried? What I thought was going to be a good day for my dog to get some energy out with other dog friends turned into 6.5 hours of sitting in a kennel soaking wet from being outside in the rain. I do not feel that my dogs best interest was taken into account during this situation and believe that this whole situation could have been avoided with better communication. I do not recommend Pet Suites and will not be returning. read more

Caution!!! I dropped my 3 dogs off on Saturday 6/24 to be boarded until Friday 6/30. We checked them in at 7am Saturday, we had their food packaged for easy daily access. Literally all they had to do was open the ziplock bag and put it in their bowl. They also needed to be fed Saturday morning after dropping them off. They did not feed one of our dogs on Saturday. So he went 24 hours with no food. Then the day before we pick them up they call and say our dogs are out of food, that's not possible because I packaged a meal per day and an extra bag just in case. Only to find out they overfed the dogs one day and then did not separate them to eat. (We have one dog that will not finish his food and he was left to eat in his pen with his sister who ate his and hers.) So now 2 dogs are out of food Thursday. 1 dog had a small baggy left, that they divided between all of the dogs. And here it is Friday and they didn't have breakfast. So again, they have gone 24 hours without food. We also booked a groom and furminator service for our huskies and specially stated 3 times with 2 different people we wanted the service done the morning of pick up. And to be called after so we could get them right away. When making the reservation they said they could do it on the 27th but not the 30th and I said NO. I did NOT want it done in the middle of the stay if they could not do it on the 30th then do not do it at all. They didn't listen and did it the 27th and then tried to charge me for a service I did not want. After going back and forth with the manager (AND having to call animal control for a welfare check and to report the neglect) she finally brings our dogs out. Who are covered in pee. We have white and red huskies and their feet and legs are yellow from urine. After being told me dogs didn't have an accident (which I know is a lie, our female HAS to be walked every 4-6 hours or she will have an accident.) NEVER use this pet suites. I asked 3 times for them to add my pet perks to my check out so I could redeem my points since I am not coming back, I have spent thousands at pet suites and had $30 in rewards they didn't add. And refused to give me the military discount (we ALWAYS) get because my husband is only a disabled veteran and not active duty. read more

We had a few good experiences at this location until today. We made a reservation for our dogs yesterday, they could not find the pet's vaccine records in the system and asked us to bring it in again. It was provided in October 2022 when the dogs stayed the last time. This morning we received an email with the records from them. We took the dogs in this morning and was told that the influenza was expired and the dogs could not stay there. We had to cancel our fights, luckily we got refunded for that, but we could not get refunded for the hotel stay. My biggest irk about this whole experience is the incompetence of the reception staff and the person checking is clearly was new or did not know what was going on at this location and was asking for help from the other employees and none of them seemed interested in assisting her. This is the last time I will be taking my pets to this location. There are plenty other places we can board our pets. read more

It looks lovely from the outside, but they don't like showing you the areas that your pet may be in. I'm sure there are insurance issues related to that. We have boarded our dog on two occasions and each time we requested an exit bath. The first time they did not provide an exit bath and the second time when we called to see if they gave him an exit bath they informed us that we had not requested a bath. After boarding him for a week I was very specific about the need for a bath on both occasions. The lead person on duty did agree to give him a bath on our second visit but when I arrived to pick him up he was wet and and matted. Another resident in my neighborhood had indicated that they had bad experiences with their dog at PetSuites. Lesson learned. I will never take my dog back to PetSuites. read more

My dog was boarded here for one week. At check in I requested that my dog receive group play each day while there. I get a call 2 days before I pick up my dog and was informed that my dog was never evaluated for group play because of a new employee's mix up and that my dog instead received individual play which costs more but that I would not have to pay the higher fee because of their mix up. When I went to pick up my dog I immediately paid and when I looked at my receipt/invoice I see that I was charged for individual play. I politely asked for a refund and the front desk employee informed me that the manager said I could not get a refund for the amount I overpaid, only a store credit. Why would I want a store credit after a bad experience?!? After much back and forth the manager told the front desk employee that I could in fact get a refund but that only the manager could do it and she's too busy today to do it so she'll do it tomorrow and then notify me when the refund has been issued. Well, the next day came and went and no refund or call from the manager, Michelle. I called again and was told she had left for the day. The two ladies working the front desk were very professional and nice but the manager seemed to not care about my issue. I have never in my life had such a bad experience at a business when all I want is a simple $50 refund. This has been a very saddening experience for me and I doubt I will get my refund unless I show up in person. read more

I took my Goldendoodle in for a wash and trim (platinum package). When they brought him out I thought they did a very good job...until later that night when he was sitting in front of me I noticed a big patch of hair on his chest shaved all the way down to the skin. I understand things happen...but what upset me was the fact they didn't say anything about it. They could have explained what happened and tried to make it right instead of trying to hide it. I had my dog Hunter here for a Day boarding and overnight stay recently. I dropped him off on Saturday Feb 16 around 7 AM picked him up on Sunday Feb 17 @ 8.AM I was told when I picked him up that he had not been fed or meds given which I had brought with him, granted he was fed last night I don't know the exact time but between 4-6pm With his Thyroid meds given at that time I picked him up at 8:00 this morning and was told he has not been given his food or meds this morning we are running behind schedule. This is unacceptable his meds for Thyroid have to be given every 12 hours so this error has messed his meds schedule up I like Taking him here it's so much closer than going to his previous daycare Happy Tails. It's just important that he gets his meds on the correct time. He's my baby and I want him to stay read more

They don't allow "power breeds" (read: pit bull type dogs, cane corsos, etc.) to play with any dogs. They may play one-on-one with an employee only. No behavior or temperament evaluation, nothing. In fact, they all thought my pup was sweet during the tour. Apparently that doesn't matter. I will NEVER give them my business. read more

This place is wonderful. I went to pick up my neighbors cat and they brought her right out to the car due to covid restrictions. The employee was very friendly and handled Gracie the cat with care. My mothers house us very close and you do not hear dogs barking all day. It really peaceful and calm . My neighbor also told me the first stay was complimentary . If you're looking for a comfortable stay or grooming services that are patient and kind, then DO NOT come to PetSuites in Chesapeake. We recently boarded our pup for the first time yesterday, which was off to a bad start as we reserved on Wednesday, got a phone call on Friday stating they didn't have her for boarding, corrected them on the reservation and then was told again at drop off that they didn't have her for boarding. We should have taken that as a sign because their communication between staff is terrible. We don't like to board unless we have to, so we chose the gold package and all the upgrades to make sure she was playing all day which was to include photos. Of course, we didn't receive ANY pictures of our pup. When picking up our pup, we spoke to one of the managers, Aubrey, and she definitely wasn't concerned with the way she spoke to us or how our pup was treated. She confirmed they didn't send photos and told us that they downgraded everyone from Gold to Silver because they had over 100 dogs and call outs to provide the services THE COMPANY guarantees. She also described a very impatient and nonholistic approach to grooming our pup and it was only a nail trim. Aubrey was selfish and was only concerned about her self as she claims "I thought she dislocated my jaw". As she continues to describe my dog as "hanging off the table", "choking herself", and "thrashing". All of which are signs of discomfort, fear, and anxiety. It was her FIRST time getting groomed and boarding and it will be her LAST. If you can't provide the services that you offer, then contact me to come pick my pup up. It may look nice on the outside, but what happens to your pup on the inside is questionable. Shout out to Whole Dogz in Alexandria Virginia for grooming and taking care of our pup for the last three years and never treating our pup as just another number. I've read some of the reviews and some of them seem very unwarranted. As one with a former employee Caitlin B attempting to slander the company for what seems to be no reason. With statements like there being a lack of work ethic and communication and a toxic work environment. Considering she previously worked there leads me to wonder just how much contribution she had to the lack of communication and work ethic and overall toxicity of the workplace. Disgruntled past employees always hide what they don't want seen especially if it makes them look bad. But enough on that, I can't wait for my little four legged kiddo to have the best time with his soon to be new best friends. :) read more

Don't completely dislike bringing my dog here, she enjoys day play. But never feel like there is enough staff there, staff isn't always super friendly/gentle with dogs. Also sometimes i feel like when all dogs are playing inside they are cramped and so many dogs shoved in a room, don't know how much fun it really is for them. More training and staff could definitely help this place out. Definitely have been to better day cares that make me feel like my dog is safer, but living in the area it is the best in chesapeake. These women are AMAZING animal caregivers! At the beginning of my extended overseas deployment, my dog sitter could no longer care for my 2 Yorkies. While deployed I reached out to PetSuites Chesapeake for longterm care. They gladly excepted my love pups. From July through February 2020 they cared for them, took them to their monthly vet appointments, and bathed/groomed them regularly as they kept me updated. They emailed me pics and videos that gave me peace of mind as I defended our great country. The staff cared for my dogs with tender love and I am forever grateful. Their facility is outstanding. Staff is not helpful and at drop-off it's not their priority to be quick or efficient. They now charge extra to force you to have some new insurance that protects them and they require a flu shot for your pet!? Flu shots and insurance are personal choices. I have frequently boarded both of my dogs at this location since it has been open. I recently boarded both dogs for a few days while I was out of town. When I picked them up I was told that one of my dogs had diarrhea and there was blood in the diarrhea. My dog usually has diarrhea when I pick her up after boarding here. My dog has seen the vet after previous stays and my vet tributes it to stress while being boarded there. My vet told me what to do when this happens. I watched my dog closely the rest of the weekend and didn't see any blood for the next two days. I followed my vet's previous instructions on dealing with the diarrhea when she was boarded at PetSuites. I had a crises and an appointment that had to be taken care of on Tuesday. I needed to leave for the appointment at 10:00 am. I had made additional reservations for both dogs for that Tuesday and had not heard from anyone there until Tuesday morning at 7:19 am when the manager called to cancel their boarding for that day. I had done everything my vet told me to do to care care for my dog after staying there. They are not dependable and will cancel on you the very last minute no matter what the situation. The manager is not a vet nor has any vet training so I listened to my vet and not her in caring for my dog. The manager is the most insensitive person I have ever come in contact. To cancel before a life changing appointment and in full knowledge of the situation is unforgivable. I had no idea what I was going to do. I immediately called my vet at Bennetts's Creek Veterinary Clinic. I will never forget their kindness and compassion shown to me and my dogs. I will never forget The manager for her treatment and insensitivity with my situation. Bennetts's Creek Vet took care of every issue, made a place for both dogs at Home Away from Home and delivered the dogs. There was no sign of blood seen by me, the vet nor the staff of Bennett's Creek Veterinary Clinic. I will never give PetSuites my business again. PetSuites excels at stressing out my animals during their past stays and stressing me out. I could never recommend PetSuites to anyone. I wish I could give a 0 star review! If you have any breed considered "aggressive" then DO NOT go here!! They will keep your pet isolated in a room all day unable to play with any other dogs. Aggressive dogs still stay here all the time as well as next to other aggressive dogs. A big dog fight broke out the other day the week before thanksgiving actually with a Pitbull managing to escape a room and attacked another innocent dog. They accept all kinds of aggressive dogs here. They have favorite employees to which they lie about others and then succeed in firing people who think dogs are precious angels and work very hard. So they loose a lot of there hard workers there cause they listen to there favorite employees. Anyway, it's unfairness in this place as well. Once again, favoritism. I read some more reviews that the management sucks to the max and it does. They have to have a traveling manager come once or twice a week. The employees sit on there phones the whole time with the group play dogs outside. They sit on there phones the whole time and get away with dogs humping a lot and rough playing. They mix up dog tags too and rooms all the time as well. I forgot to mention if your dog takes medication they double dose on your dogs quite often actually because they have minimum experience staff. A dog just got loose the other day and ran in the street and almost got ran over. read more
