I ordered my dog a few items on line 2/18/25. On my way to pick up the items I received an email saying "We've canceled your order #1010354805". I get to the store go and collect the items they canceled. I asked the cashier what was the reason and he was polite. He called over a heavy set white woman who immediately said, I guess your card didn't go through. Her condescending tone and nonchalant attitude was not needed. And my card was not the issue. She needs training on people skills and communication. I guess she's too lazy to walk outside for the curbside pickup. read more

When a customer asks "How much for a groom?" and you quote me a price then decided to tak on an extra charge. No one asked for grinding of her nails. A trim was all that was needed. You should not assume when it comes to money. Do better next time. read more

This applies to the grooming department, only. The rest of the staff seem lovely. But I'm 100% never bringing my dog back here. This is the 3rd time they told me my dog's rabies shots aren't up to date - when I went for the appointment - and, that they won't be able to groom her. That's despite having the vet send over the vaccination records. I had a copy of the records on my phone too, and since the last time they did this same thing.... The vet circled the date and the rabies note. Then wrote in capital letters in the middle of the page - WAS VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES ON 10/14/23. The vet told us they do this frequently. But since my dog is over 100lbs and I made my husband help take her and my dog hair bombed his truck and planned our day around this, I didn't just walk away when they said my records were out of date. I walked back in and pointed out the dates and the notes and the red head lady just rolled their eyes at me and said "I'm not dealing with this, I'm getting a manager." Luckily, my husband walked in that that point because i was still trying to control my dog and was starting to get frustrated. The manager came in, and said the paperwork was fine and we were good to go. The staff said the paperwork was just very confusing. Despite the bold, caps, and circles... but I digress. They were all just as miserable and nasty when I picked my dog up. So now I wonder, is it laziness? What is it?? Anyway, never ever again. I took my dog to get groomed on 12/14/23. I was charged twice on my statement. I called customer service and spoke with a manager at the store who both stated their system only shows one transaction, so I visited the store to phys show them my statement. They were able to see the transaction debited twice but no resolve was offered. I was told to talk to my bank, as of today the 16th I a still out of $80. The situation is both an inconvenience and frustration. It's so easy to take out unwarranted extra money but a struggle to get it back. read more

Grooming services- what can I say!! I've never had a bad experience. I took my sweet boy to one groomer for a few years. Nearly cried when she told me she was moving. She took time to give me names of people she recommended. Today was my dog's first appointment with the new groomer (Jeannine). It was apparent the old groomer discussed at length the needs of my dog so Jeannine was prepared for this visit. My dog is my baby and very nervous when going to the groomer, so I appreciate the care, love, and attention to detail they put into his experience there. She did a phenomenal job and he had a very positive interaction. 100% my go to place to get my sweet boy groomed! read more

Have not been here for quite a while due to working "up north" and shopping for dog food and supplments at DelChester Feed (Love that little old place!). Now I work 2 minutes away so this PetSmart and the nearby other "big box" stores come in handy. Stopped in at 12 noon on a random Tuesday for a tick collar and some supplments. Get your dog on Glucosamine/MSM at a young age! It makes a real difference in their elder years. Happy they are here. read more

This store is not clean! Enhanced cleaning during COVID?? What a joke. The bathrooms are frequently out of supplies. Recently there was no soap in the women's bathroom for 6 days in a row. I have seen boot prints on top of the toilet lid (stayed there for about 3 days), and a ground-in pile of dog poop right inside the front door that was there for at least 3 days - not sure if someone cleaned it up or if enough people just walked on it that it was ground into dust. Disgusting. The employees are pleasant and try to be helpful but there are not enough of them - I usually have to stand in line for at least 5 minutes. If you need help reaching something on an upper shelf, good luck. read more

I bought a lot of my aquarium supplies they're starting up prices were almost unbeatable. I purchased some fish didn't have any problems got my tank started up ran it for a year changed it a little bit got some new fish brought home bacterial infections. After that I lost about half my tanks worth of fish but was credited from some of my surviving fish that I was planning on getting rid of very nicely. Over all an OK experience I would just keep an eye out on fish. read more

Went in to try to adopt a kitten. There were 2 in a cage outside the glass wall that we asked to see. Were told a few minutes. She then took another customer who was picking up a cat & came in well after us. That interaction, which could have taken 10 minutes, took over half an hour. When it finally came to be our be our turn, the associate decided to take ANOTHER customer who had just come in to fill out adoption papers. After almost 45 minutes of no help or information, we left. Go to the Humane Society - more options & people who care enough to help their animals actually get adopted. read more

Pretty standard PetSmart, but full of all the perks. As with most chains, if you're already familiar with PetSmart you'll get more or less what you'd expect. The store is clean and the staff are friendly. This location has a grooming facility, puppy training and cat adoption. You name the extra and this store had it. This location does a great job caring for their hermit crabs which is especially unusual for pet stores and even more unusual for a pet store chain. Bonus points for sure! read more

I highly recommend bringing your dog here for grooming. Recently I brought my chow chow in who in the past I had only ever groomed myself. Emily the groomer was the best! She was so gentle with my dog and she made me aware of any concerns she had for my dog afterwards. I was nervous to leave my dog at the groomer but Emily did awesome and I would definitely bring my dog back again! read more

Very bad service and staff. First, they messed up my appointment. I made a new appointment then they refuse to groom my dog and said that my dog had too much matting. They wanted me to charge more than 200$ for my dog's hair cut. I went to different Pet smart which is in glen mills ( excellent service and staff). Disaster with grooming at Pet Smart, Wilmington, DE. Our dog had an awful buzz cut after we said she will be in a family photo. Very shocking and upsetting! We asked for combing out knots and keeping her hair longer and did NOT receive it! We are soooo disappointed about how awful our dog looks. I was crying as it does not look like our dog at all. Another groomer made excuses and no apologies. They should have called us before just cutting everything to the skin, including ears. Yikes! We will never go back here for any supplie or services. Petsmart groomers always love to charge people more. Sometimes I feel like they care more about money than the actual dogs. I seriously told the lady I wanted the haircut my dog had last time. But NOOO!! She keeps offering me other things. Next thing I know she charged me for something I did not want. However, it was done when I picked him up, so I just paid for it. Took my husky here because no matter what he wouldn't let me take care of his nails. The grooming staff (Emily took on the task of his nails) was friendly and extremely professional when my dog became anxious and started freaking out. I can only speak to getting crickets for my tarantula which has been good. Most of the staff are young and they have been friendly. I have yet to meet a disgruntled worker which is probably due to them being surrounded by adorable dogs and cats while listening to the soothing bubbling sounds coming from the aquariums. Watching fish swimming does have such a calming effect on the mind... ;-p My parents come here to pick up cat food and have never had any complaints. Its the Walmart of pet products with only one other chain competitor that Im aware of. The two locally owned pet supply shops that I know of (Concord Pet Supplies and Pet Village) are also very good, but smaller. Also didnt have crickets last time I checked. read more

When I moved to the area I began using Pet Smart grooming for my dogs. One time I called to schedule a grooming appointment and yes, I was trying to get them in within a couple of days as I was going away and wanted them groomed for the person that was watching them. The girl told me they had nothing available for the rest of the week. I then said "You can't fit them in somewhere?" The answer I got was " no means no." Wow, great customer service. It's fine you couldn't get them in but you should really learn how to talk to clients. The last time I went I brought my dogs in and stood at the front desk area. No one was there. One of the groomers stopped the grooming she was doing to check me in. Seeming very annoyed and overwhelmed, she took my dogs names and my name. She grabbed my dogs leashes and took them to the back. Never addressed the dogs, never bent down to pet them, nothing. You are in the pet business people. Try and make a little fuss over my dogs. A hello to them would have sufficed. As I'm waiting for miss happy to come back, the 2 other groomers began complaining about the checkout girl at the front when she called overhead to grooming that they had a phone call. They all just seem miserable and I really don't want miserable working on my dogs. The people in the front have always been nice enough....and I still go to the store for things, but I will never have my dogs groomed there again. read more

I took our family sheltie here for grooming (lots of fur!). Making an appointment on the phone was easy, dropping her off was no issue. She is a ball of fluff and her fur can be hard to keep up with- when I brought her in, she was way overgrown and starting to mat. The difference after the grooming was incredible. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! I am so so pleased with how she looked when I picked her up, I know immediately I'd be returning for next time. read more

My dogs love coming here. This location is always clean and has friendly staff. I usually let my pups pick a bone or toy out, but was a little taken back by some of their excessive pricing for some of the bones and toys. Also, I would love more USA made raw hide bones, as I recently became aware of the chemicals other countries use to preserve their bones have known carcinogens. read more

We go to Petsmart to purchase the brand of dog food that we use, for some treats and also accessories (leashes and such). I go to a different pet supplier for pigs ears and non rawhide bones. The pigs ears at Petsmart come in a large bag and are not the same texture (not sure why or how). Our dogs do not like their pigs ears. read more

PetSmart will NOT make an effort to calm and carefully groom blind,older small pets.All they would need is 4 hands and a gentle touch and patience and they have done OK with my 5-year old shih-tzu.There is a time in a dog's life when PetSmart is NOT the place I would recommend and the time is NOW for Older Dogs and other animals!Find a nice,loving door-to-door portable groomer or take your dog elsewhere!This review is in regard to my 15-year old shih-tzu!Be very careful when taking your older pet there! read more

Please don't ignore this review! This hospital is a scam and they only care about the money and not their patients! My family had to put our dog down a few days ago. Our dog was a patient at Banfield and we were on their pet wellness plan. A few weeks ago, our dog went in for dental work at Banfield and when he came home later that day, we noticed huge lumps in his throat. We called Banfield and they said they didn't notice anything in his throat (sounds very suspicious). So we took our dog to another hospital where they told us that the lumps were more likely cancerous. A few weeks later, we found out our dog had lymphoma and his health rapidly declined and the disease got the best of him. We called up Banfield to cancel the plan the next day after he passed and they told us that even though our dog is DEAD, we have to continue to pay the monthly fee for 11 months, or we owe them $400 to cancel now!!! As if our family hasn't gone through enough trauma with the passing of our beloved pet. This hospital has no empathy for their patients! Obviously a dead dog doesn't justify cancelling the wellness plan. SHAME ON THIS HOSPITAL! Please pass the word on! I don't wish this to happen to any other family! Now we are suffering all because Banfield cares more about money! Do not ever go to this hospital, even if you do not get on the plan! read more
