He also told me right away how much this treatment cost and if we had insurance. They fixed my poor suffering cat. He stayed there for two days and I could take him home. I am very thankful that my cat survived. Thank you! The staff was very patient with me as well. I had thousands of questions but they were very patient with me. Again, my cat is alive and if I would have an emergency I would bring my pet there again.

Both visits was because it was during off hours hence my primary vet was closed. We were seen quickly and all my questions were answered to my satisfaction. I never felt rushed or stupid for asking questions. My most recent visit, I had to rush my dog in and they saw him right away. I had initially called as I was unsure if his behavior warranted a visit so they had me send a video clip to make sure and they did recommend him to be seen. During his stay, they called to update me on any happenings which thankfully there were none. At discharge, they supplied me with medication and a script to get a little more in case I couldn't get a quick follow up visit with my primary vet. Though it is pricey (each visit I opted for several hours of observation), I expected it but you aren't pressured to do anything. They will print out an estimate and breakdown of what and how much everything would cost. Then as the pawrent, you decide. They have a free private parking lot and 24 hour visiting hours or you can stay with your pet. There's always someone there so I felt confident my furbaby was safe.

Commack Veterinary Center - Dr. Steinberg in action!

Dr. Steinberg has always gone above and beyond for us--I'll never forget him opening the practice to examine our dog the day after Hurricane Sandy, even with no electricity. The entire staff is excellent, but I want to specifically thank Dr. Cosentino and Dr. Steinberg. Dr. Cosentino was instrumental in finally diagnosing our dog's chronic digestive issues; since switching to HA food, she has been healthy and thriving. More recently, when we feared Luna needed cruciate ligament surgery, Dr. Steinberg's thorough exam led him to conclude it was a soft tissue injury. By prioritizing her health over profit, he canceled the planned X-rays, which was a significant saving for us. While we had one recent administrative hiccup involving a missed lab test and a medication error, Dr. Steinberg's response solidified our trust. He personally called us, listened to our concerns, and immediately took steps to correct the situation. We remain completely confident that Dr. Steinberg and his team are the best choice for our fur baby and our family.

The second visit was with my dog having severe allergic reaction, and wound on the tail. They were not able to clean the wound, and apply ointment, or spray. They blamed me to not giving trazodone to the dog prior to visit, that is totally ridiculous. They did not suggest me to buy antibiotic in the pharmacy, instead they charged me $140 for 10 pills. They sold me collar, spray and pills, plus $90 for visit, that cost me $280 for nothing. I could have buy the spray , antibiotic and collar in the pharmacy for much less. I found it totally unhelpful and overcharged for nothing.

The staff is friendly & efficient.. They have been wonderful in providing the special foods and supplements that my dogs need at very reasonable prices. My dogs are treated as if they are the only patients of this office and after all, isn't that the way we all want our precious pets treated? Now all 3 of our dogs are patients of this office. Wait times are minimal and they also do home visits and are always available in an emergency, even at 1am with our adopted mill dog vomiting. Excellent advice always Thank you Dr. Heller & staff for taking such great care of our 3 Tervurens.

We were told we had to come into the office to review it. We advised the office staff that we do not live close by and neither one of us would be available today to go over it, but would like to speak with the doctor. We were refused to speak to the doctor and told that if we couldn't come in, we should take the report go to another vet and be seen there ! He is not a compassionate doctor. He's fucking crazy.! I don't need to go in there and hear his personal laundry detail to me about his family. He should be keeping is personal stuff to himself. And he should be getting on the phone with us for clarification concerning our dog.
