Staff very accommodating and knowledgeable. I have seen grooming being done but never experienced it w/my dog. Mainly I shop here.

I took my dog to PetSmart about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and Kara wouldn't groom him. His allergies have been terrible lately. I understood why she couldn't groom him. He's been to the vets twice since then. He's on multiple medications and shots for his allergies. I took him back to Kara yesterday. Both she and her assistant had terrible attitudes when I brought him in. Kara explained where she couldn't run the razor due to his allergies. I understood what she was going to trim. I had also brought in his prescription shampoo for his bath. When I picked him up, I thought he had a great cut. I even gave Kara a generous tip. She had really trimmed his face nicely. When I got home, my husband noticed that his face was the ONLY part of his body that looked trimmed. If they groomed his back, you could fool me! They never shaped his ears. Then I asked why there was a charge for his shampoo since I brought it in. Kara said it was a special shampoo. I think they used a quarter sized amount. The poor dog still smells. I bathe my dog twice a week, and he never smells after a bath. I will be calling the store manager tomorrow. By the way, another groomer has offered to groom him for free tomorro. read more

Been using this store since I got my chug (chihuahua pug mix) 3 years ago. They have always been helpful and accommodating. He had an accident once and the associate helped me get the supplies to clean it up. Took him to puppy training classes and he learned a lot (if you know chihuahua's this is impressive). They are always polite when I come in the store. read more

I took my dog there for a nail trim and because he peed a little because he was nervous, they told me they couldn't cut his nails. I work at a dog daycare and we can't tell a pet parent their dog can't come back because it pees indoors. I'm very unsatisfied and will never be using the salon again. The lady acted scared to death of my dog, so I think she just didn't wanna do it anyways. I will do them myself and they definitely lost my business. I have 6 dogs so they lost big time!! read more

brought my dog there 2 days ago for nail trimming, butt shave and paw pads cleaned up. They ended up shaving her female parts. Now she has a horrible rash and blisters in her privates. Still trying to get a vet appointment. She is in pain and no matter what we do to relieve it still not working. I will never bring my dog back. That was at the Shallotte NC location. read more

Had set grooming appointment on website. Had a 4 week wait and day before appointment they called to cancel. Employee who called was both rude and condescending. Called me "honey". Objected to phrase, her reply was "have a nice day, "honey" and hung up. No effort made to rebook. Checked website and now shows no appoints available for next 3 months. Sounds like they have no groomers available and rumor has it they can't keep staff. Something wrong here and I will never use them again read more

Called upto get my dog groomed --they said they had no groomers except the ones in training -- so I set up a wash and brush-- Took my dog in and because she had some matting in the front of chest they refused to do the wash and brush --- said they couldn't brush her all day --or something to that effect. What I want to know is if all they have are groomers in training --who is training them --if its onsite then there has to be a groomer there. i just got a guinea pig from here a couple days ago, when i got home and realized the cage was too small i went to return it and brought the guinea pig with me to see if i needed to exchange him for any reason, i went to return the cage first, i told the girl working the cage was a bit too big for me and that i wanted to return it for a smaller one, she argued and said "no that's the right size cage, that's the one you need, studies have showed they need an 8 foot cage to roam around and run" i went and looked at other cages they had and they had a 4foot cage she also recommended i could use for $100 same price as the 8 foot cage which makes no sense. then i looked at the other guinea pigs, my mom asked to hold one and she came over saying "i don't let people hold them, they don't like being held and your not supposed to pick them up" i decided to exchange the guinea pig i got for the one she wouldn't let me hold and she kept asking "why do you want to exchange" i just said i don't know this one seems a little more friendly and id just like this one and she was complaining and arguing still. when she finally stopped arguing and let me get it i went up front to pay and said i wanted to return the cage still and go get one somewhere else she said "okay you can leave the guinea pig here so it can have food and water and you can come pick it up when you get the other cage" first off ive never had someone give me such a hard time about getting an animal she was so rude and awful and just argued and argued the entire time i was there and said anything. she needs to be fired. read more

I had taken my dog here on several previous occasions and had been satisfied with my dog's grooming. On the most recent encounter I noticed that the entire staff appears to be new to the store. When I picked him up he had several bald patches down to his skin (up to 10). It was so bad that they didn't end up charging me. I will NOT be bringing him back.
