As a follow up to my review, it has come to my attention during my last visit to the PetSmart on Victory Drive in Savannah, GA (10/28/2025) that Priscilla Nelson was dismissed as the Dog Trainer. Our five star review previously given on 10/14/2025 was for Priscilla. Obviously I do not know of the circumstances but she was the reason we went here. We completed two sessions of training with Priscilla for our new puppy. We were about to sign up for our third session when we learned of Priscilla's departure. Needless to say we did not subscribe to the third session nor will we ever shop in the store as well as encouraging our friends and family to do likewise. If PetSmart treats long time associates in the manner in which they treated Priscilla; then we will spend our money with companies who show compassion towards associates and the animals in which they serve. ---------------------------------- We just finished puppy and intermediate training with our Australian Shepherd puppy Ruby at PetSmart on Victory and cannot recommend these programs enough. We've gone through training with two of our other dogs but since Ruby is our first puppy, we wanted to make sure we knew what we should and should not do. Priscilla came recommended from neighbors and friends and they were correct. She is patient with all the puppies and humans. More importantly, she is firm but fair. We are excited to continue with additional classes in the new year to ensure we have a happy but well mannered Aussie that we can take anywhere. read more

Grooming disaster at PetSmart 10 years of loyalty ended by poor communication and an age based service policy that left my dog unsupported I've been bringing Prince bear to PetSmart grooming for over 10 years this time Hannah took him in for grooming and assured me she would take great care of him about 30 minutes later I received a call, saying Prince bear have been taken to the hospital due to a nosebleed all his years this has never happened When I picked him up. I asked what happened. Amy the manager didn't provide a clear explanation or show much understanding of the incident I was told I would be contacted by someone More experience to handle grooming. I never received the call. I called back and spoke with another manager Anthony, who informed me that because of my dogs age they will no longer service him However, that is the only place I've ever had him groomed and I've never had a problem and the only reason I allowed Hannah to do the grooming is because (Raquel) which always does a magnificent job and takes her time and she's very patient Was not there due to maternity grooming, no proactive guidance no empathy just an age based policy I wasn't made aware of. I will not be returning after 10+ years. I'm frustrated by the lack of communication Follow through and what feels like an age base exclusion without clear upfront policy, but thank God I found someone that took great care of my fur baby did an excellent schnauzer cut one of the best he's ever had so I'm grateful but just be aware. PetSmart will discount your animal for aging And that's my opinion. read more

I took my dog there for a bath and to have his nails trimmed by dremel and to have his ears cleaned. I included this information when scheduled his appt. online. When checking in for my appointment, I spoke with Raquel. I reemphasized to have his nails trimmed by dremel and to have his ears cleaned. I advised that because my dog is so nervous they did not need to dry him. Most shops just put a fan on your dog. Two and a half hours after his appointment time I went to see if he was almost finished. He was still in the back, which told me he most likely he was in front of a fan. The lady that helped me advised me that he had been drying, but they gave him breaks. I cannot fathom what they did in the 2 1/2 hours when a simple bath should not have taken more than 30 minutes. Needless to say I was furious that they did not follow my request on how best to care for my dog. I spoke with the store manager, Ebony and explained what had happened. She was very professional and heard what my concerns were. I asked for my refund from grooming which she gladly gave me. I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the tech to clean his ears out and trim his nails. I will not be using this PetSmart again. I encourage you to do the same. read more

I like my local Petsmart. They have a large variety of cat and dog food. And always offer plenty of pet toys and treats. I also like that there is always something on sale and I earn points for every purchase that leads to money off future purchases. Most of the staff is very friendly they do a great job keeping the floors clean considering everyone brings in their pets. They also keep the aisle clear (except the main aisle) where it is easy to shop. I tried the groomers. That was a crazy experience. They wanted to keep my pups four hours and they put them in a kennel area that looked like the pound or a vets office. I wasn't expecting that. They washed them, but since that was their first visit they really did little else. I won't use that service again. read more

Their business on 11132 Abercorn is unprofessional and their employees are not knowledgeable! I drove a long distance just be turned around. I called the previous day to ensure the information I had concerning my dog's shots would be sufficient. An employee told me I could bring my dog in with the information I had. I went in today (7-15-25) for a shop and deliver uber order. Went and grabbed the one item I needed and headed to checkout, I was met by an older white woman maybe late 40s with glasses at the counter. For reference, this was MY FIRST TIME IN PETSMART on uber. So, I had a tax exempt code pop up on my phone for her to scan so I mention it, I immediately get met with audible huffs and puffs and attitude. She says you need to tell us your shopping for uber and I politely said I didn't know I had to do that. Her attitude got worse, she then says oh it must be your first time doing this very condescending and I shot back just as rude with, not my first time but in this store it is. Finally, my appt was confirmed, was told delay due to fact i had 2 accounts. Was told different name and a dog named lucy. When i told her that wasn't me..she insisted it was!!! I really like coming to this PetSmart it's really convenient and I'm a good part of town.. well by a Whole Foods lol There is always parking available so that's never an issue even with really cool stores nearby. The store always is well stocked and has the food and treats my animals love. The prices are the exact same as all the competitors so that's not really a deal breaker or not. To be honest I've never really held a conversation with any of the employees so I can't tell you whether they are kind of not. read more

I booked a grooming appointment for my dog. We have used a mobile groomer for quite a while, and she doesn't come to our area anymore, so we were desperate to find a groomer. The man on the phone seemed put out that I didn't book it online, but I had never used them before and wanted to talk to someone. My husband arrived for the appointment, and the groomer (likely the same man I talked to on the phone) was extremely rude and accused him of cutting in line. He told my husband to leave the room. The groomer then told my husband that our dog was too matted and refused to groom her. Honestly, I am relieved he refused because I don't want my dog subjected to this type of person. There is a reason this location has unfavorable ratings. read more

The groomers seemed to be looking for a reason not to do our English wire haired fox terrier. claimed something about the hair on his throat area. said a Vet had to trim it. stated his harness had matted it down. Started asking about vision and lameness. they confused him with our deceased Cavalier, Kona. I am not impressed with Petsmart and will not be back, ever. My mom often comes here for the cheap gold fishes and she would drag me along. I sometimes come here to check out the variety of fishes, and birds. I love animals, i often dress up my little dog in tutu's and a huge jacket in case she gets cold outside. I treat her as though she was my own child. I have a 4 year old pomeranian. I usually come here to buy a selection of clothes, toys, treats, dog bed and food for her. I pamper my dog a lot. My mom loves petsmart because of their great prices on gold fishes. She has a huge pond in the front of the house, and an indoor fish pond. You can't get a better deal at any other pet store. read more

I took my dog in for a bath and blow out at 11:00 in the morning and never received a call to pick him up so at 5:30 I called and the girl told me the he had been done for hours and she didn't know why I hadn't been called. I immediately went and picked him up to find that Lauren had gone home without letting me know that my dog was ready to be picked up! I spoke to the manager and she could have cared less. I did not receive as much as a simple apology! My dog had been in a kennel without food or water all day. He had not been allowed to relieve himself either. This is unacceptable. Then I received a call from someone saying that Lauren failed to put his adaptyl collar on and do I want her to just throw it away! I left totally upset for the way both I and my dog were treated! read more

You would think that a pet store would have workers that are friendly to pets AND pet owners. Wrong. My PUPPY playfully jumped up on a dog that was walking around getting a training session after which I promptly told him "no. Sit" which he did. The owners laughed it off and understood he is a puppy, the trainer on the other hand? Yanked him away and scolded him. Then had the nerve to give me her card? No thank you. You wouldn't spank someone else's child so don't put your hands on my puppy. I would write her name but the card is in the trash. This is my favorite Petsmart in the area for grooming! My online appointments don't get cancelled. Even if I schedule my dogs for an hour or two apart, I can still drop them off at the same time. Plus chances are they can be seen earlier than their appointment time! So far it's taken around 2 hours for both grooming sessions. read more

If your looking for crickets go to pet supermarket. They somehow manage to keep crickets stocked throughout the week, a feat petsmart has proven to be quiet impossible. seriously tho i would expect a huge corporation to be able to stock crickets for more than a day every week. people have pets that need to be fed. get another supplier that can keep up with the demand. read more

This store is fantastic. All the people there are super helpful and truly care about your animals and the animals they have for sale. Leslie, the head of the live animal/small pet department is knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Could not say enough good things about this place. read more

So I was calling around trying to get my dog vaccinated. Most vets charge between 10 and 20 dollars for the rabies vaccination - no surprise there. However, I called Pet Smart and they told me there fee was $58.00 dollars. I don't mind high prices because as a shopper is up to you to check around, but, when I asked why the high price the lady clerk said "it's because you have to see the vet". I insisted that I only wanted the vaccination and she said "your dog has to be seen by the doctor because it's the LAW". I mean, Come on! I asked which law are you talking about and she said "the store law". Beware, if they trick you like this, think about all the unnecessary treatments and over charges that they may impose on you. We went in looking for some supplies for our daughter's goldfish. I had two attendants that were helpful and the aquatic attendant seemed very knowledgable regarding fish aquariums and needs. I do feel that items are more expensive here than at Walmart. I guess it's because when we go to PetSmart we are making more emotionally based purchases. Just do your homework .... read more

we Want to thank the PetSmart employee for ruining my husband's Christmas surprise. He knew I wanted a single black moor for Christmas and came up with an elaborate excuse to come to PetSmart. We arrived and picked out the black moor we wanted to bring home. A spunky little guy with plenty of energy! Picked out a tank with a filter system and stood in line to be helped. A woman asked if we needed help the immediately began telling us she WOULD NOT SELL US A BLACK MOOR UNLESS WE EITHER HAD A 10 gallon tank or planned to purchase one that day. She was incredibly rude almost to the point of insulting. We placed the tank back and left with no intention of ever coming back. PetSmart is great helping furry pets get adopted etc, but to have an employee so incredibly rude just ruined our opinion of their level of service. It is hard to find good and loving homes for animals when the people who want them are treated so poorly. Interested in how we were required to have a giant tank for one fish when there were 12-15 black moors fighting for space in one five gallon tank waiting to be adopted. poor customer service and even poorer fish care. read more

We had an excellent experience here with our groomers. It's the second time I've brought my babies to be groomed and we have left with a positive experience each time. There was a younger blonde girl I hadn't seen yet who could've been a little kinder. Lucky the woman who was working with her was very kind, greeted my animals with pets and questions. I was happier to speak with her. That would be my only complaint. My dogs were very clean and happy. read more

Dog owners Beware: If your dog has been flagged as "crazy," PetSmart will treat it however they want. And, when your dog is injured, Petsmart will only blame you and your dog. Let me tell you my story. "Your dog has been injured," is the message my wife and I received while at work. "Your dog appears to be bleeding from somewhere around the ear, but we can determine exactly where," PetSmart told us over the phone. Panicked, I left work. My wife and I raced to PetSmart. Moose, our dog, had a significant cut on his ear. According to PetSmart, he was treated at their in-store vet. We were happy that the wound appeared to be only a cut --not an abrasion from hitting his head. Wanting to make sure that Moose was not concussed or had suffered any serious head trauma, we asked to see the camera footage. The groomer said, "absolutely, I will get the store manager." After we waited for 20 minutes, the store manager, Leslie, finally arrived. I asked to see footage of the accident. Leslie stated that "we only give camera footage to the police." I responded that this was not true, and the footage could be subpoenaed if I filed a lawsuit. "So sue us," she replied, or something to that effect. I did not want to sue anyone or file a police report, I only wanted to make sure my dog had not suffered brain trauma. She refused, noting all the while how calm she was and that I was not, which I found condescending. I explained to her that my wife and I had just left work and raced to PetSmart only to find our dog injured and with, quite frankly, a poor haircut. Leslie stated that the poor haircut and the cut on the ear was the result of our dog being "crazy," to which she added, "PetSmart has a long file on your dog's erratic behavior." This is important. My entire complaint could be dismissed as he said/she said --but this statement is true because I could not have otherwise known about PetSmart's internal files on Moose. To sum up, if a pet is too "crazy" to groom, then tell me and I will find another groomer. read more

Do Not go to the Abercorn store!! Beware! The customer is never right, and the cashier always is! No matter how often the case has been, and I've been there multiple times -whatever the cashier says is all that matters. You can never win. She is never wrong, even the managers side with her, even if she makes or made the mistake. Just warning you!! I've been hit too many times, and am tired of being embarrassed in front of this one cashier. I'm also seeing a trend in the feeling you get after reading some of the reviews. There are some associates there that think high, mighty and righteous and if you go against them -you're simply always wrong. Don't expect this customer back ever again! read more

I go to this store regularly, at least once or twice per week so I'm pretty familiar with all the different associates. Most of them are absolutely great and super knowledgeable. Mckayla in particular has been super helpful in assisting me to find the correct foods and toys for my very picky dogs. I have one finicky eater, and two that can destroy any toy in minutes, so good advice is greatly appreciated. The only complaint I have with this location is the trainer, an older lady, that comes comes out and huffs and sighs at the dogs in the store. I understand happy whining dogs can disrupt a training session, but you're stationed in the middle of a pet store, it's going to happen. I've talked with my neighbors who shop there also, they said they were sick of their dogs getting side-eyed from this woman. Anyways, don't let the grurmpy trainer deter you from shopping here, this store is always clean, well stocked, and full of people with knowledge. read more

We get our dog food from Woofgang Bakery, but we still frequent Petsmart for a bunch of things! The staff here are always very friendly! They have a big selection of pet toys, and always have awesome clearance bins with toys in them! We love to go and grab the $1-$3 toys right after holidays for our pups! The animals they do sell here at this location seem to be in good health! We love going to spend time with the kitties that are up for adoption in the cat wall! They offer dog training, grooming and they have a Banfield Vet at this location. They don't have the very highest, top of the line quality dog food brands, but they have all of the brands that are right beneath them. For people on more of a budget they have a nice selection. (If you are looking for the best dog food and healthiest dog food for your baby it's Orijin, woofgang sells it). The food they do sell here is priced pretty decently. They have a great selection of cat toys, cat food and items for all different types of animals! This is a nice Petsmart location! read more

After 14 years of being a loyal customer of Pet Smart, today was the worst experience ever..and I will never go back there. I brought my dog in to be groomed ( a Maltese). Granted he had one spot on his back where he had been biting him self that needed a little extra attention, but he was far from being matted to the point where he needed to be shaved. However I was informed from just a glance that he needed to be completely shaved. When I rejected this suggestion, I was told that she would not do the service at all and she was very rude and was talking about me with her co workers when I re entered the salon . I then attempted to book with another groomer, and was told I would just get the same answer from him. I have my dog groomed once a month so I know he was not that matted. I proceeded to take my dog to another grooming salon and had him evaluated for a grooming, she told me that by no means did he need to be shaved. I am so tired of poor customer service, was warmly greeted by my new groomer and treated with dignity and respect. Like most pet parents I love my dog and want him to have the best treatment possible. Goodbye Pet Smart. You need a lesson in professionalism and customer service as well as training in grooming. Came in to quickly grab a crate for our dog. Did not realize the closing time which is our fault but then we heard an employee rudely inform a man they closed in three minutes so we tried to hurry. They proceeded to then turn off the lights in the store. Horrible customer service. read more

I went in wanting a couple more fish for my small fish tank ... The aquarium attendant knew a lot about the fish I wanted, but basically refused to sell me the fish. I told her that I knew the aftermath of putting my fish in the small tank that I have, but she still refused and came up with multiple reasons not to give me the fish. I walked out a not so happy customer with just a snail, which she did not want to sell to me either. read more

Banfield at PetSmart is the biggest scam going. Their main focus is to sell you the excessively priced "Wellness Plan". This is a big rip off because anytime you take your pet in, there are ALWAYS extra charges not covered under your plan. Also any of their charges for any services is always at least double and sometimes triple what a private vet clinic will charge you. They will not give you a prescription for flea medication to buy online because you have to buy from them at twice the price. It is a scam that should be shut down. read more

Pet grooming is a disaster. I have two beautiful dogs, now they look horrible. They charge as the good ones.

No stars here. Worst customer service I've ever seen. Staff had no knowledge of brands sold, comparisons or anything. I had to do my own research on the phone instead of just getting a simple answer from a person. Useless staff. read more
