Very disappointed with PetSmart. I had a 10:30 appointment for my dogs grooming this morning, Friday, July 4th. I had booked the appointment online and worried if it did include everything I wanted. So I phoned PetSmart a few days ago asking if my appointment would include trimming the hair on my dogs back end. I was told it did and to just tell the girls what I wanted. I get to the appointment this morning, tell the girls what I want and they tell me they can't do that. Trimming her back end would mean a haircut and that wasn't included in my appointment. My wife and I use to access PetSmart for their dog food and grooming services but as their prices began to rise our purchases began to decline. The only thing we continued to access was nail clipping and grinding. Today I took our family dog in for his quarterly nail clip & grind and I was surprised that the total came to almost $27. This service literally takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete. I shared my disappointment with an employee and she replied in a whisper "I can't afford to bring my dog here." I can't say enough about the friendly and helpful staff, they truly are great, but It would seem that the corporate greed is alive a well. Needless to say,...we won't be back. I Regularly visit this location and am always happy with the product range and prices. Customer service for the most part was average. The store itself is clean, well lit nd welcoming. On recent occasion I called for grooming services, the groomers were out for the day. The girl on the phone abruptly told me so and was unfriendly and unwilling to provide any assistance, the rude manner in which she addressed me prompted me to call Petland for the same inquiry. Unfortunately for Petsmart the person answering the phone at Petland also said the groomers were out for the day, he was so friendly and willing to help that I've placed petlands services above Petsmarts for future inquiries. With similarities in services, customer service is often the deciding factor in where to shop. Certainly is in this case. read more

This is the most reasonably priced of the pet stores in Red Deer. My only complaint is that every time I find a dog treat my puppies really like, the store discontinues it! The grooming department is pretty good, but a little higher priced than other places. read more

I have been taking my Shit Zhu Avery to Petsmart for grooming for about 4 years. Avery's tail wags when she sees her groomer Vicky. I always get a friendly greeting on the phone and in person. I get a call as soon as Avery is ready. She never has to stay there longer than two hours. Avery always looks great and is happy when I go to pick her up. The salon is clean and ensures that Avery's vaccines are up to date. I would highly recommend their service! read more
