My PetSmart Experience Today 7 a.m. drop-off energy: Thought I was slick being the first appointment. Joke's on me -- late open + one worker special. The "one hour" promise: Turned into "your baby will be ready at 9." That's not one hour... that's an entire Netflix binge. App vs. Reality: App said "ready." Phone call said "not ready." Store said "we don't even open yet." Y'all, PetSmart out here running three different storylines. Me to the register girl at 9:03: In my head -- "Ma'am... you don't see me with this full cart?" What I really said -- "Are you open?" Takeaway for me & other pet parents: No more 7 a.m. appointments. They're on PetSmart Standard Time (PST) and it clearly runs 2-3 hours behind. Bring your laptop, patience, and a snack. read more

We must be suckers for punishment because this was our third strike with PetSmart grooming -- and definitely our last! The first time, we made an appointment, dropped our dog off, and were told someone canceled it without even calling us. The second time, they claimed he wasn't up to date on his shots -- even though they're the ones who gave him the shots! And now, the third time takes the cake: we scheduled a mini groom and clearly asked for a bath, haircut, nail trim, and teeth brushing. Six hours later, we show up and he's only had a bath. No cut, no trim, no brushing -- nothing we asked for. They told us we "didn't say haircut," which is absolutely untrue. At this point, it feels like they just don't care. Our dog looked worse coming out than going in. Never again. read more

My dog visited today for scheduled grooming cut nails, hair etc... the employees was moving too fast so now we had to have emergency trip to banefield veterinary due to nip in the tongue. The experience gives the dog and family anxiety.. hopefully this never happens to anyone else's family pet. It's a very big & clean pet smart but it definitely needs improvement with employees. The check out desk is always ran by a rude sales person. I truly wish people would apply for jobs they love because it really shows when you actually get into working. The stock was very nice and neatly placed all around the store. There was a low amount of animals all over the store at the moment so it was quiet. They have hay marked at a Buy one get one half off but it's never registered in the system so you'll pay full price unless you mention it to them. read more

Visited this Petsmart location while on my lunch break to look for some joint and hip chews for my dog to avoid making an additional stop at night. Unfortunately they didn't have in stock the biscuits that other petsmart locations have. On the positive, they did have an alternative that I knew my dog liked, and they weren't very busy, which got me in and out in under 5 minutes. Staff were very friendly, and apologized when they couldn't find the brand I wanted. Would've loved to have taken away the product I wanted, but I got an alternative in rapid fashion. I hate coming to this location. The products are normally out of stock, the store is usually stocked to very low levels, and this one cashier is the only person that makes the customer enter in their own phone number for their rewards program. She is also nasty when she makes the customers do it. I visit this location and the one on Jonesboro Rd. I will now go out of my way and go to the other one just to avoid this terrible service. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said yes I know she is the only person to make the customers enter their phone number, but there is nothing I can do. REALLY! As a manager , none of my employees would EVER disobey a direct order. Now the store conditions and customer service makes more sense smh. I hate that I have to drive out of the community that I live to get decent store conditions and quality customer service. read more

I came in on Saturday to see about getting my cat more vitamins for his fur issues. The flavor I bought for him he didn't like so I asked one of the guys with luscious locks for some assistance. He immediately asked what kind of food I had and he said "your cat probably has issues because of the cheap food your giving him." He was super rude and talked about how grain free cat food isn't important. After a 2 min discussion about his ridiculous beliefs on grain free cat food, he eventually picked out a supplement/vitamin to try for my cat. The cat actually loves the new flavor, but I could do without long hair don't care's comments. It's only a matter of time for this location closes like the rest of the businesses in this shopping center did years ago. This location isn't nearly as busy as the other locations. They have pretty much the same items, but many things aren't well stocked. I went in on a Saturday at 12pm and quite a few things were missing from the shelves, but had labels showing where they should have been. read more

I went in to get my dog something for her joints. I asked someone at Banfield pet hospital and they gave me some really good advice. The only thing is the groomers are next to the hospital so you are hit with a wave of animal smell when you walk into the store but that's to be a little expected. There were some items that were on the wrong shelf so that's really my only complaint. Everyone was very nice. I would go back. read more

Probably more of a 2.5 rating. I've been to both the McDonough and Mt. Zion locations and this one seems just a little less... everything than the other. The check out staff are competent and civil, but not friendly. But the staff that I saw on the floor, restocking, or in the training cube in the middle of the store were either trying to avoid any interaction or lazily sitting and chatting. Otherwise, pretty much the same as other Petsmart locations. Decent selection or varying quality (though mostly overpriced). read more

Second time is a charm... not. Both my animals looked ok, not great, but ok. I told the groomer not to cut the hair on my yorkie's head because I wanted it to grow. She chopped it up and placed a tacky purple bow on it. I really did not know how short it was until I got home and took the bow off. I called and expressed my disappointment. There was an additional $12 each for nail grinding. One of my dog's still had hair in his ears. The grooming job wasn't too bad though. My dogs look presentable. Still no bandanas. I have experienced far better grooming services for my dogs. I was horrified to see one groomer grab the ear of a cocker spaniel and comb through it quite roughly. The dog whimpered. She did not acknowledge that she was hurting the dog. She continued combing the dog's ear roughly. There was a dog in the back yelling frantically. And two dogs were brought from the back and placed on the grooming tables, shaking as if they were terrified. I should have reconsidered bringing my dogs back a second time because the day before I met a customer who said that she no longer bring her dog there because of some issues. Another customer said that his apricot colored poodle was mistakenly bleached white, because the groomer thought the he was dirty. Needless to say, that will be my last adventure with this grooming facility. Just hearing that dog crying behind closed doors scared me. I just hope that my dogs were not in distressed as that dog seemed to be. read more

I will never get any services done here again. I have a 10 month old american pit bull and I needed her nails cut. They immediately muzzled and restrained her face and body. My dog shows NO aggression whatsoever and never has so much as barked at another dog or person. The petsmart in mcdonough has way better service for animals and their parents. People there actually love animals and are not ignorant pitBULLIES. I usually go there anyway but decided to go to mt.zion because it was closer. read more

Don't ever take your pet to be looked at the hospital or dr. in the petsmart in Mcbonough. I have a guinni pig looked at over there. They want me to bring it back the following week for a checkup. Naturally for the money. They called me three days ahead to make sure I was still coming. They called the day before. They called hours before I was suppose to be there. They called me about ten before the appt. when I got there in waiting. They asked would I be able to pay thirty dollars. I said yes. I waited some more time. Then they had the nerve to ask me if I could bring back another day. I told them NO right then and there. They should have at least told me on the house for all that trouble and all the calling they did with me. Never again. Will I go there. It is not Petsmart. It is the hospital in there in McDonough. read more

I have two dogs and a 55 gallon aquarium. I drive further so that I can patronize this Petsmart instead of the location at Camp Creek Marketplace. Their aquariums are well stocked and clean. The fish appear healthy. Like most big box pet stores, the aquarium staff are hit or miss. I did speak with a very knowledgeable staffer once at this location - and someone is obviously taking care of the tanks. read more

Every time i bring my dog there its never a good experience. They never do a good job and he's always there for atleast 7-8 hours which is horrible even though he arrived at 7am. They always give excuses for not finishing the job. I will not never bring my dog back nor my friends are not bringing there dog back.
