First time I took my dog to this pet smart. I got the full package, but groomer said dog would not let her use the dryer that removes excess hair. She did not offer to take that service off my bill. She left. Eventually another groomer brought my dog out, but had an attitude. I will not bring my dog back to this grooming salon. A very disappointing and unsatisfied experience. read more

Absolutely worst experience anywhere. Signs all over the store for no appointment necessary 2-6pm grooming services. Took my dog and was yelled at by the staff when I inquired about grooming and told "read the sign stupid it says any questions ask an employee". Thought that's what I was doing?Treated and spoken too like a complete idiot and told to take it up with corporate. Just got a new dog and was planning to spend quite a bit of money on supplies while he was being groomed only to be treated terribly by their grooming staff. Wow, just wow. Have been a loyal PetSmart customer for 15 years and never experienced anything like this. This is why hiring the right people is so important. Do better PetSmart. read more

We've bought mealworms a few times. They are often dated 3 or more weeks old. They are in Styrofoam which is such a pollutant, hard to recycle. Within a day of bringing them home, so many mealworms are dead. This has occurred numerous times. They are not cheap. A small carton is $4.99 or more. With the transition to your new rewards program, none of my previous points rolled over and the bonus points advertised never hit my account. We often don't get points for purchases, yet cashier's always locate our account. You've got to do a better job! We've shopped here for years! read more

I see all of the negative reviews here, but they appear to be from some time ago. This refers to the grooming part. I have been bringing my dog here for years now. His cut is always great, nails are done perfect, and the groomers here all always so nice. Needed to rent a carpet steam cleaner from PetsMart. We located the vacuum cleaners but didn't know how to rent it. We scouted the whole store and couldn't find anyone. We wandered into the employee-only area, and finally someone directed us: "you need to wait at the cashier line, that's the only way to pay for it." So we waited at the cashier line for 3-5 minutes. When it was finally our turn, the cashier immediately asked us to step aside and paged the manager who in turn paged someone specializing in rentals. [To the Store Manger: WHY can't someone page the rental specialist directly without having us to wait in line at the cashier?!!!] We waited around for another 5 minutes, finally the rental specialist came by and told the cashier she had to finish helping someone first before she could help us. So we waited for a good 10 minutes. Fortunately the pet grooming area provided some desperately needed amusements to alleviate the long wait. Finally the rental specialist came back, but immediately opened up a second register because the cashier line was getting really long. We approached her and reminded her that we had been waiting for her, but she said no, that she had to "help these customers first". We were now FURIOUS. We approached the manager who's been standing around, and without us finishing our complaint, she said she agreed that we were wronged. Immediately, she took over the 2nd register, and asked the rental specialist who's been UNWILLING to help us to finally help us. I'd give this experience a 1 star had it not been the manager who empathized with us and tried to reduce the damage. Update: The hand-held wand of the cleaner didn't work so we had to come back to get a replacement. What an awful experience! Regard this as a 1 star review after all!!! read more

Took our dog to get groomed here this past weekend. We asked for a wash including a FURminator, as well as a mouth clean. We also specifically request that he be towel dried because he is scared of the vacuum. They said this was all fine. This is our first time visiting here for grooming but we have had the same services done at plenty of other groomers in the past. We just moved to the area. well, after two hours which is the longest they told me it would take I came to pick up the dog. (they hadn't called yet but I just showed up because it had been at the two hour mark) He was still visibly damp. it's very clear they did not do the FURminator, and now two days later his hair is very coarse which means that they either did not wash out the shampoo or they didn't bother to condition him. We have to rewash him completely again. Will not be returning here. read more

The grooming salon is just ok. Made an appointment for haircut for my Corgi. The staff was relatively friendly but the place was really untidy and messy. The floor was full of dog hair. The groomers there were attending to several things at one time - attending phone calls, making notes, checking out at the registers in their pet store, grooming pets. It took close to 4 hours to get my pet groomed and the reason I was given was that everyone is really busy around Christmas time. Told them to use the shampoo they had used last time but on checking out was handed out with an extra bill of Chi package of $20. My pet smelled good but it turned out to be one expensive haircut and long time to get it completed. Will look for some other place and will not go back here. read more

Given the choice, I pick shopping at PetSmart over anywhere else in the area because they usually end up being the cheapest. However, I've never been in there when they haven't had at least three people standing in line waiting to check out. Sometimes, they hold adoption events at this location which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. It's good because they showcase animals that need homes, but it can be bad because it usually means the place is packed! Also, it's good to keep in mind that it is a pet store and sometimes it really does smell like a pet store. And of course the big plus for me-I get to take my dog shopping with me! =) read more

Their website for this location stated that they groom both dogs and cats. Under their À la carte menu, the website says anal gland expression and sanitary trim. I went in to this Petsmart and asked about the service for my cat. They said they don't do cats at that location and only a vet should express their glands. I wasted my time and gas by driving here because they don't know how to update a website. Please update your website so others don't have to waste their time. read more

This PetSmart is the worse for customer service in the area for cashiers. They were not friendly or helpful AT ALL. Thank goodness the managers are but it shouldn't have to come to that. Really not happy and won't go again unless it's a dire emergency! To make matters worse there was dog urine in multiple places that was not being cleaned up by owner or worker. read more

I love the grooming service. I take my big loud (and friendly!) pitbull there every three-six months for grooming services, and the staff is incredible with her. I know she is a lot of work but they always coo over her and never make me feel like she is in any way a nuisance. It's well priced for what you get too. The groomers never skip over the anal gland cleaning which has happened literally every other place that I have gone. Products in store (toys, food, cleaners, crates etc.) are all too pricey for me, once in a while, I get sucked into buying a toy when I come in for grooming because who doesn't? But everything is cheaper online. They also have carpet cleaners for rent which is a god send for new puppy messes! Staff is always kind and helpful, not enough of them though. read more

If i could give this place zero or negative stars, i would. I took my dog for a bath and to get her nails trimmed. When i brought he home, she had fleas. I didnt realize what was happening. I thought she waa itchy from a new shampoo or had dry skin. I didnt check her until it was too late and we are paying the price highly!!! I called the groomer when we discovered it and was told and i quote "i really dont know what to tell you. Sometimea dogs come here that have fleas." Nothing was offered. No help. Nothing. Its not they infected just one animal. But we had 4 cats, 7 kittens, a dog and kids at home. We are now all in jeopardy. I have already spent hundreds and they are already worse. Every day is worse. I now have to take the remaining cat and dog to the vet to have a shot and to get the dog a treatment. I wouldnt recommen petsmart grooming to anyone. Not ever. One pissed off customer. read more

Rating only the Pet Training. Was torn between 2 and 3 stars but went with 2 since I was so disappointed that I didn't even want to bother going to the last session. I signed up for the 6 week beginner class (1 hour scheduled per week from 6 pm to 7 pm) which cost $119 as my dog was just acquired from a rescue and had no prior training though is about 2 years old. Long story short the classes did not end until at least 7:20 pm. Each week the trainer, Dawn, searched for her 7 pm class which actually didn't exist. Not once was there anyone waiting there at 7 or even as late as 7:30. So she extends the class time. Normally you would think getting more time is better but as most experts agree, dog training should last no more than 15-20 minutes at a session. They also booked too many dogs into the class. The first week there was either 8 or 9. Two of those either dropped out or changed times but even 7 is too many in that small of an area for that long of a time. Next, she was never ready to start on time. A lot of drama and personal talk that added into the sessions. Sorry but I rush to get home after work, take the dog for a walk, then head over. I want my hour of training but anything longer the dogs are anxious and uninterested and so are the people. Want to go home and eat some dinner before it gets to be 8 pm. Since most dogs are taken out prior to arriving, a mid session break should not be needed and was generally for her to go out and smoke and make personal phone calls. Dawn knows the techniques but does not communicate effectively as she does not stay on task. If she did, she would have known that class should only be an hour, she should be ready to start and finish on time, and not interject personal feelings or situations. Also, it's fine to demonstrate with your highly trained dog that does nothing but be trained for hours each day to show off a skill but show it on an untrained dog to demonstrate what realistic results one should expect. As of last week she revealed that she had tendered her resignation and was leaving Pet Smart along with the assistant trainer. I would probably not go back to Pet Smart because if you look at the numbers, 7 dogs @$119 for the 6 one hour sessions is $833. If the trainer is making $25 an hour, which is probably high, that's $150 for the 6 weeks leaving close to a $700 profit for the store. It seems as that philosophy is the more dogs, the more profit. At most there should be 4, maybe 5 dogs scheduled in a session with a trainer more aptly suited to teaching. read more

The grooming salon here has the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. It took everything in me to not lose my temper at the level of attitude and unprofessional demeanor of the staff here. After calling the store to make an appointment, I showed up at the time I was told to come in (the employee who I spoke to said nothing about their services being first come first serve) only to be ignored for 2 minutes. After that time, I was acknowledge with a, "What do you need?" I told her I had spoken with someone about an appointment. "We don't do that here. There ate 2 people ahead of you. Wait out there and we'll get you when it's your time." and she dismissed me with a nod. After browsing for 20 minutes and noticing there were a clue open spots in the grooming salon, I asked another employee if they'd page me when it was our turn. She assured me I would be so I continued browsing. Another 20 minutes go by and I see the salon is near empty so I went in and asked if we had missed our name the woman who rudely dismissed me earlier simply ignored me and turned her back to me completely. Another girl awkwardly and in an apprehensive manner said, "I'll take him ..." and barely another word was spoken to me. Not only did they have terrible attitudes, the quality of my dog's nail trim was terrible. They were unevenly cut, and some looked like they hadn't been touched at all. After being in that store almost an hour longer than I wanted to be I grabbed my dog and booked it out of there vowing never to return again. I also work in a customer service field, and I know at times it can be a high stress environment; HOWEVER, I do know that we as employees must maintain a level of professionalism and courtesy to the guest. I don't even expect one to make small talk or brown-nose me, just give me the respect I deserve as a fellow human being. How dare you try and make me feel like I'm doing you a disservice by bringing my dog to your PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. Horrible, terrible, absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If you want to be treated like a human being and don't want to feel like an inconvenience to someone who you are PAYING, I would recommend taking your pets elsewhere. read more

This is for the Petsmart Grooming service. I just moved to the area and was in search of a groomer. My dog has extreme anxiety and of course I'm always a little weary about who takes care of her (She's my baby!). So I kind of wanted to take on the task of buying the equipment and doing it myself. I went into the grooming service area to ask for advice and met with Lindsey. Lindsey from the grooming department was so helpful and I immediately felt at ease. I went into Petsmart not having any intention about getting her groomed there but I got really great vibes from her so I decided to have her do it! I'm so glad I made the appointment. I was so impressed! Not only is Lindsey super helpful and kind, she is super talented! My dog looks 5 years younger! My entire family has commented on how amazing she looks. I couldn't be happier.
