Waited 30 minutes before we left with one of these Bissell Carpet Cleaner rentals.
    David H.

Needed to rent a carpet steam cleaner from PetsMart. We located the vacuum cleaners but didn't know how to rent it. We scouted the whole store and couldn't find anyone. We wandered into the employee-only area, and finally someone directed us: "you need to wait at the cashier line, that's the only way to pay for it." So we waited at the cashier line for 3-5 minutes. When it was finally our turn, the cashier immediately asked us to step aside and paged the manager who in turn paged someone specializing in rentals. [To the Store Manger: WHY can't someone page the rental specialist directly without having us to wait in line at the cashier?!!!] We waited around for another 5 minutes, finally the rental specialist came by and told the cashier she had to finish helping someone first before she could help us. So we waited for a good 10 minutes. Fortunately the pet grooming area provided some desperately needed amusements to alleviate the long wait. Finally the rental specialist came back, but immediately opened up a second register because the cashier line was getting really long. We approached her and reminded her that we had been waiting for her, but she said no, that she had to "help these customers first". We were now FURIOUS. We approached the manager who's been standing around, and without us finishing our complaint, she said she agreed that we were wronged. Immediately, she took over the 2nd register, and asked the rental specialist who's been UNWILLING to help us to finally help us. I'd give this experience a 1 star had it not been the manager who empathized with us and tried to reduce the damage. Update: The hand-held wand of the cleaner didn't work so we had to come back to get a replacement. What an awful experience! Regard this as a 1 star review after all!!!

Why We Drive Over an Hour for Jen We have four Corgis--and…read moreif you know Corgis, you know they're full of personality, fluff, and a whole lot of sass. Finding a groomer who can handle all that with patience, skill, and genuine care is no small feat. That's why we're beyond grateful for Jen. From the moment we met her, we knew she was something special. Jen treats each of our Corgis like royalty, remembering their quirks, calming their nerves, and making them look absolutely fabulous every single time. Her attention to detail, gentle approach, and deep love for animals shine through in everything she does. We drive over an hour just to see Jen--and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Because when someone makes your pets feel safe, loved, and stunning, distance doesn't matter. Jen is simply the best, and our four Corgis agree.

They took time to get to know our dog and while she had anxiety about getting groomed, she would wag her tail and be very excited to see the owners, because they took time to establish a relationship with her. We really appreciated their thoughtful care and intentional communication. The new ownership experience was sadly very disappointing from a customer interaction standpoint. When we entered the salon, she asked our dog's name but did not introduce herself. She gave a brief overview of some changes such as new natural shampoos and gave a ballpark timeline of when to pick up our dog. She also asked if there were any skin conditions such as cysts, lumped or warts which I appreciated. At this time, I expressed that it was often an issue for my dog to get her nails trimmed and that previously we would come in and help hold the dog so that her nails could get trimmed safely and offered to do this during this first grooming appointment which she declined. We received a text saying "she is all set" , and came to get our pet. The first thing that was said as I entered the salon was not a greeting, or preface on how the grooming went, but rather an explanation on how the groomer won't work with difficult dogs and has had injuries from difficult dogs when grooming. And then immediately recommended we find another groomer better fit to groom our dog. This was a very confusing and disappointing way to hear how the appointment went as there was no context as to why she was saying this until she finally expressed she felt my dog was too anxious to be groomed safely or appropriately. Again, we have been coming to Shaggy Chic for 12 years and the only concerns ever expressed and addressed with our help, were our dog's struggle to clip nails, so this felt like an abrupt first interaction. While explaining how the appointment went, they stated they did the best they could with our dog's cut. They explained how they used restraints as needed, and couldn't fully trim her face ,however when we got home, I finished trimming her face but also found that she wasn't properly or fully bathed as she had tear stains still matted on her face, her glands were not emptied, and she had fecal matter caked under her tail. It was never expressed in our interaction that bathing was a safety concern or that they weren't able to complete her bath, which was also disappointing to see the lack of detail with her bathing. I agree and support the need for both the animal and groomer to feel safe in this type of environment. However, the lack of communication was really disappointing after having been with Shaggy Chic for 12 years and working together with both previous owners, to successfully groom our dog in a caring environment. There was no attempt to call or text during the appointment to communicate that the grooming appointment was challenging, or a request for one of us to come and help, which we had offered at the beginning of the appointment, nor was there any context when we arrived to pick up our dog as to what went wrong or what attempts they made to connect and calm our dog down. One of the groomers did offer to try one more time if our pet was given anxiety medication but they also expressed they weren't sure if that was enough to help. Overall, we were really disappointed with the communication, quality of service, and care shown to our dog. While I respect the groomers option to determine which clients they want to work with, we were able to work through a prior ownership change without issue while still maintaining a high level of care for our dog, and a great relationship. This was a disappointing way to leave a small business we have loved supporting and have trusted with our family pet for the last 12 years

I have heard horror stories about some other groomers, but I always know that my dog will be safe and is in good hands at Mardis's Dog Salon. Carol has such a love for animals and it is evident in the way that she treats them. Her price is very reasonable and she is always so flexible with her scheduling. This is an outsanding dog salon.
