I really liked how this store takes care of their bettas. they can't change that they sell them in cups, but they've added plants inside the cups for the betta's enrichment and have an example 5 gallon tank (with happy betta inside) on the shelf. Their bettas aren't perfect, but are much healthier than other pet stores I've been to. read more

Got charged 400+ dollars for 3 nights of boarding, and grooming, and I can tell they did absolutely no grooming. When I picked her up the stench of urine was overpowering. I wouldn't trust them with a fish, much less a dog. Very little faith that they're actually caring for these animals. read more

I waited 3 months to type this review to make sure I wasn't blowing the situation out of proportion. This petsmart was HORRIBLE, their policies anyway. I had to leave my dog at their pet hotel over a long weekend Due to military obligations. now my dog doesnt have the best stomach so I offer petsmart the probiotics we use. They say they can't use it because they are not in the original packaging. I warned them "hey she may have diarrhea without this" and they said "oh that's fine it happens all the time". Fast forward 72 hours and my wife gets a call from petsmart at 6am in the morning saying "hey you need to come get you dog she's had diarhea and if you don't pick her up in the next 3 hours we're taking her to the vet and we're going to charge you $200 on top on the vet visit". And unfortunately because my Wife was out of town for family matters she calls me panicked and tells me to go get the dog I had to plead with my military leadership to let me go handle this "emergency". Begrudgingly they agreed because military policy doesn't make caveats for non-human family. I have to leave drill to come pick up the dog to take her back home leaving her unsupervised for 9 hour without the ability to go outside. And surprise !!! No diahrhea!!!! So to recap -petsmart won't let me give my dog the probiotics to help the diarhea -petsmart gives us no warning that we need to drop everything to get out dog -their issue was non existent If they worked a real job their heads would roll. Never! Never get your dog groomed here! Although I had an alternative place to go, I decided to use this location again because they did a decent job the first time and I didn't want to gamble on a new place. I drop my dog off at 8am and although they were supposed to be open the doors are locked. There is a male employee smoking (vaping) in the front of the store who told me I had to pull the doors open by myself to get into the store. I dropped my dog off with Taylor and about three hours later (when she said my dog would be done) I get a call from her that she cut my dog's paw and he was now at Banfield getting checked out and may need stitches. They said someone would call me shortly, but that didn't happen. After calling twice to get the status, Banfield said my dog was cut pretty bad at which point I left work and went back to see how bad he was hurt. 12pm I got down there and the same guy who was smoking at 8am was standing in the exact same spot like he never moved! To PetSmarts credit, I was met by two managers who said I wouldn't have to pay for anything because they cut him. My dog was brought to me, paw still untreated, so I could assess. I took him out to potty and asked them treat him and finish up my dog. They said they would finish and call me. No one ever did. I called them back at 2:30 PM, I pick up my dog and the whole grooming area was just trashed. There was hair everywhere and the person that cut my dog didn't even come up to me and apologize! And after all that they didn't even cut my dog the way I asked them to! His haircut isn't even in places. You would think after six hours they could at least get the haircut right!! I asked for a teddy bear look, and I got this uneven nonsense that I probably could've done at home and save myself a bunch of time and headache. read more

This review is for the grooming salon. We signed up online, and were happy with all the options. We arrived and Amy was super helpful. We don't get our dog groomed often (he doesn't tend to need it) but Amy was awesome with our buddy, who sometimes is a bit wary of strangers. I understand we can't leave our dogs there after they are groomed but if you miss their call they will literally chew you out and harass you for it. I have been getting my dog groomed for 7 years and have never had such a horrible experience. On top of that, when I picked my dog up from them, the woman asked my story about how I got her and then proceeded to shout "BULLSHIT" as I walked out the door. My pup stayed at the pet hotel for four days and three nights. I was able to make the appointment over the phone at my convenience. All of my questions were answered in advance. The staff was kind and helpful upon arrival. There are additional play and treat options that can be added to the stay for a reasonable fee. There is staff person on site 24 hours a day should you need to contact them. When I returned, my pup was of course happy to see me, but she did not have any adverse effects once she came home (ie. diarrhea, etc.). Tip: Shots must be done 48 hours prior to stay. read more

I went with the expectation of buying a new betta. I knew going in they don't keep their bettas in the best conditions (2.5 gallons with a filter and heater are the minimum requirements for healthy bettas - not a plastic cup). I didn't expect to see two of them floating on their sides, half dead and one well and truly dead. And from the look of the water and the state of its fins, it had been dead for a while. I took the dead one to an associate and they just cheerfully said 'oh okay!' And took it from me and set it aside - couldn't have cared any less! If you can't do the basic minimum care for the animals you're selling, at least check to make sure you don't leave dead ones out on the sales floor! read more

We went in to adopt a cat because our cat recently died. My young daughter explained to the employee helping us, Lulu, that our indoor cat accidentally got out of the house and that was the cause of the the death. Lulu replied, "what are you going to do to make sure that doesn't happen again?" to my grieving child. It was completely insensitive to question my child. My kid is devastated by the loss her cat. If it was a major concern to Lulu, she could have and should have addressed it with me instead. It put a bad taste in my mouth and we left before the interview was over. I have purchased Blue Buffalo from here, for my cat. My cat ended up in the hospital...for a week. The second I told the vet he eats Blue Buffalo he told me to look in line about all the cats and dogs this food makes suck and sometimes kills. And he also said he has had NUMEROUS cases of cats and dogs with severe urinary tract infections. U went back to the pet store and they tell me they don't have a problem with the food. The store employees are all extremely pleasant and great to work with. I am writing this review as a warning to anyone attempting to order through curbside pick-up. The online system does not work. I received a notification that my order was ready and my account was charged, but when I arrived at the store, the order had not gone through. I had to pay again at the store for my products. Now, it is almost impossible to get a hold of anyone for a refund for the failed curbside pick-up service. This review only concerns their grooming service. Rosie the golden retriever is scared of everything in the world: electrical cords, unexpected noises, accidentally slipping on the wooden floor, the wooden floor itself, her toys, her treats, chairs, anything you happen to have in your hands ... you get the idea. She really needed a bath and brush (and teeth cleaning, ew, dog breath); I was pretty sure she was going to be traumatized for life if I took her to the groomer, but with summer coming up, I didn't want her to be too hot. Plus, she sleeps on my bed, so it's in my best interest to make sure she smells good. I finally took her to PetSmart for a bath and brush service plus nail trim, teeth and ear cleaning and a few other extras. She was terrified when I took her into the salon and cried when they took her away, but Crystal promised to be very gentle with her and take it slow, and I hoped she was in good hands. I didn't think she'd ever want to see me again, but fortunately, golden retrievers are not bred to hold grudges. She was happy, clean and very fluffy when I picked her up. I could tell that Crystal had taken good care of her and that she really is a dog person. Maybe Rosie's next visit won't be so scary! Great service for a reasonable price. Rosie has never smelled so good! (To alleviate some of my crushing guilt, I bought her a pink squeaky canvas football, which she came to adore after she got over her initial terror of it. petsmart hotel was not a good experience at all for three night stay. my dog is fixed. he was supposed to have group play well they only did one day. did not find out until I picked him up. not happy no one called me I had confirmed over the phone and when I dropped him off. the girl that was doing the check out told me that male dogs part are usually hidden and they can be in the stomach area I'm like yeah no and they can't be seen I'm like yeah no. also my dogs bedding and toys came home full of piss and it went threw my bag threw all away. and also came home with a scratch on his back. well speaking the hotel manager all she said his stuff should of been washed and that for his scratch you need to contact the groomer. I said the why is his stuff covered in piss he never pees in his cage never was he even let out. she said oh yeah he had walks and some individual play time I'm like yeah no. no help did not even hold the staff responsible. staff is not trained to handle anyone fur baby's. read more

I have taken my cat to board in their PetSmart hotel a few times now when I have to travel. I'm grateful for what seems to be awesome treatment of my pet. It is really simple to call in your reservation, and the drop-off and pick-up times are convenient and flexible. Everyone I've encountered there is nice and friendly, and will tell me all about how the cat did during the stay. They even give you a report card, which is cute. The price is on par with other boarding places I believe...same daily rate as my vet office charges, but again more flexible than the vet in terms of availability and hours. I definitely recommend them for a cat, and it seems like they do well with the dogs too. read more

This is the second time I've brought my dog in to get his nails clipped. The first time, I gave them the benefit of the doubt that mistakes can be made and some of his nails were overlooked and not clipped down. This time around, some of his nails were still left unclipped and unhealthily long while one of his nails was complete clipped off to the fur. The groomer also failed to inform me that this was the case and I know that my pup will blatantly show pain with a situation like that. Now my dog has a tender paw. There will be employees standing around chit chatting while fish are chewing on dead tankmates or gasping and struggling to float upright. 80% of the common plecos I passed by were dead, bloated, and scattered across the bottom tank. One looked like it had dried out from being dead so long. The mollies were no better, it was as if a plague hit their tank. Angel fish were dead and tangled in their own tank decorations. A massive koi was floating around, dead, while his buddies tried to nip on him. Out of the three dead bettas I had to remove from the shelving, one has been sitting dead there for so long that his water was rusty brown, it was AWFUL. The oranda goldfish were not only sickly and thin, but this location wanted to charge me $31 (the cost of a LARGE) for these tiny weak orandas that were the exact same size as those in the Medium tank. If you want beautiful, full sized oranda worth your money, go to the petsmart on Wadsworth next to Einstein bagels and Walmart. read more

We adopted our cat Otto from this location, and he's the sweetest thing ever. The staff was all so excited for him to be adopted (it made me cry a few times!) and were eager to see him when we brought him back for a check-up. Everyone is friendly, even if they don't know much about the products that you're asking about they try to help. We have had a few other experiences here as well. Mainly with my dog Bella. Although they are a separate business, I think think it's worth noting because they are inside of the store! Bella had a large cancerous tumor that needed to be removed and the Banfield pet hospital and Dr. Heotis took care of her better than we could have ever asked for. She has now been cancer free for 4 years thanks to them! read more

Mallory is the best dog groomer ever. I take my Golden Retrievers there. She is so kind and gentle with the dogs and gets the job done. They look great when they come out. Mallory listens to how you would like the dogs groomed and she is also knowledgeable as to how they should be groomed for the particular breed. I have had mediocre experiences with this location up until recently. We decided to purchase a bearded dragon (first lizard, not first exotic/high maintenance pet). The girl who sold us the animal was very misinformed about the creature and sold us a sick guy :( I brought him in to have them try and see what they can do for him. The manager told me that it didn't look good. Of course I started crying. Cold-blooded or not, a pet is a member of the family. If I'm not mistaken this location has a vet that handles reptiles in store. I was told to call in approximately 3 days to check on the lizard to see if they were able to nurse him back to health (so I may purchase him back, healthy). I called this morning, I brought him in 2 days ago, they informed me that he was just brought to the vet yesterday. They couldn't even give me an update on the little guy. WHY WASN'T HE BROUGHT TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY??? If the manager could tell the animal was gravely ill, why wasn't he treated as so? No blame on the manager, she was awesome to me. read more

My wife and I boarded our puppy here over the weekend. I am not happy for primarily two reasons. One, when I called to set up the boarding, I was told that I would get one night free due to a promotion they are having. When I went to pick my dog up yesterday, I was told that this information was incorrect, and because I had taken my dog to another location for a day stay, that they wouldn't honor what I was told. The employee seemed to care less about making me happy despite what their employee previously told me. Second, they said my dog had regular bowel movements, yet when we got home she promptly went #2 (regular sizes) five times in the course of a few hours. There is no way she was regularly going to the restroom during her stay, yet her paperwork said otherwise. Third, they said that she played with small and large dogs during her stay, but our paperwork said otherwise. I simply cannot trust this PetSmart to be honest, and I'd advise looking elsewhere for boarding, especially at $120 for two days. read more

I boarded my timid/shy/easily stressed dog there for 2 days, and it was a disaster. She was so stressed she didn't eliminate for 2 days. I had arranged for a grooming during her stay, and the groomer refused to finish the grooming because she "pooped". It was not diarrhea, she was not sick, she finally just went. They didn't bother to dry her, just took her back to boarding soaking wet. She was wet, and traumatized when I picked her up. I was also charged for the "grooming"!!! We adopted our dog this summer and she was a terrified dog. We started taking to her dog training at PetSmart and she began to come out of her shell. Then we began taking her to daycare and she really blossomed. Now she is playful, and acts more like the 1 year old puppy that she is instead of a frightened old lady. The people at PetSmart have an amazing thing going. They clearly love the dogs in their care and it shows. We also have her groomed there and they take such good care of our dog. It's a one-stop shop that is not only convenient, but it's the right choice for our dog because of how much they care. read more

I have been bringing my puppy to Petsmart on Crestline for the convenience of it being within a mile of my apartment complex. From the beginning, I received an incredibly bad taste in my mouth when I brought her in for Doggy Day Camp at the Pets Hotel. I dropped her off for a full day which is priced at nearly $30 with taxes and fees, but decided to pick her up early. When I arrived, my puppy was nowhere to be seen. Apparently she had been held in "time-out" for the entire duration of her stay for overactive play. So I brought her home early and never took her back to doggy day camp. I still decided that I loved Petsmart and continued to bring her in for grooming; however, this last experience has forever drawn me away from Petsmart and giving my money to their company. I paid $70 for a botched groom job, her entire underside of her belly was shaved, there were multiple spots on her leg that were shaved that appeared she had surgery which in fact she did not, and not to mention her entire chest area was shaved so I received my puppy back with bald spots throughout. All the groomer said to me when she gave her back to me was that I shouldn't be surprised when I see that her entire underside was shaven. My only request when I had dropped her off was to keep her length of hair but instead I received a puppy that had a botched job. I will never return to Petsmart. I'm forced to come here for crickets as there are no reptile shops in my neighborhood. Already the crickets are hideously over priced. I was waiting for assistance at the cricket stand for over 10 minutes one day and had to opt for one of the boxes with 25 large crickets because I was pressed for time. It's $5 for that box of 25 crickets Really!? $1 per 5 crickets!? Ridiculous. I get home, empty the box into my tarantula cage and there are only 8 crickets in the box. Dead and alive, only 8. I called the store and the lady who answered was exceptionally snarky with me. I told her I only got 8 and she replied "oooooookkaaaaaayyyy......I guess bring it back??" Extremely unprofessional. Like what do I get by lying about how many crickets I got? I know my measly cricket purchase will go unnoticed at this awful chain store but I will not be returning. read more

I love their doggy day care. The people are wonderful and treat my dog Duke so good. The only thing I wish they had was an out door area and webcams. That is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. The people there however get 5 stars! Other than that it is clean. The people watching my dog let me know quickly if Duke has anything going on and I get a report card daily which is so cute.
