This review is based of the grooming salon. I scheduled an appointment online with Hannah R. for a quick wash and brush for my dog. When I arrived, the demeanor of the person at the front desk felt off right away. There was no one else waiting, but I wasn't greeted in a friendly or welcoming manner. I asked who Hannah R. was, and the woman at the front desk pointed at herself in a rude, dismissive way. I then explained that I had an appointment and asked if the estimated time of 1-2 hours was accurate. Her response was, "That's just what corporate thinks we can do. I'm overbooked--he'll be my last one and will take 3-4 hours." That completely defeats the purpose of scheduling an appointment and directly contradicts the information on your website. She didn't smile once or make any effort to be friendly--it honestly seemed like she hated being there. Given her attitude, and after seeing reports and videos online about dogs being mistreated at grooming salons, I didn't feel safe leaving my dog. I told her I wanted to cancel the appointment, and she clearly didn't care at all. read more

The grooming salon is awful! Took my doodle for an appointment and she had to miss her regular grooming due to an ear infection and couldn't get ears wet. My normal groomer was booked so went here. The lady looked at my dog and said she was matted and woukd need shaved. I was ok with that but the girl proceeded to tell me that when they shave dogs they risk the dog getting a hematoma that may need drained by a vet. I'm like what the hell lady. Very rude like this young girl knows what the heck she is even talking about. Told her to go f herself and got my dog out of that hell hole. If you take your pet to be groomed at this place, may God be with you. That's all I have to say. read more

Went to look around with family and we decided to get a couple gold fish for the kids, they were excited. Associate came to the fish area after I had requested someone be sent over and a couple mins later... associate (older w/ long hair) came over and we indicated we would like to get a couple goldfish and he then said, "I can get you two but not the two you want, it's too difficult to do that and that's how we do it".. I said, "we've chosen before and"... cuts me off, "that was a bigger tank and less fish, this is how we do it, I can only give you two at random". Me, "if you don't want to get the two we want that's fine we'll go elsewhere", ...thinking he's just being lazy because it's NOT THAT DIFFICULT for Pete's sake... in a different voice as he turned back around to do whatever he said, "that's fine have a nice day" which sounded more like, "cool less work for me man". read more

Came there with my dog having an allergic reaction , I paid 180 for my dog just to stay at their cage for 5 hours and they didn't even said what he allergic to specifically. Told me he have to get a shot from allergies and that I will have to pay only 50 for the shot and that's all. When I came in for appointment apparently I had to pay 80 for the shot + 30 shot fee + 64 for visit itself and physical exam they have to do before doing anything with my dog. The physical exam I paid 64 were them listen to his heart and look in his ears with a flashlight. In the end my dog problem was not solve at all, AND I had to pay extra 114 dollars for shit they told me I don't have to pay when we're making an appointment with them at first place. I had the opportunity to meet my very first "Kevin". the hours of operation on Apple Maps state the hours 7 am-9 pm. I approached the store and an employee was opening the doors (so I thought) so I asked him what time they opened and he said 9 am. Since it was 8:30 am, I suggested they should change the times on Apple Maps. I told him it stated 7am- he said..."I doubt that"... If I could give the grooming services zero I would. I went in to get my poor pups toes ground which I have done in the past at another place unfortunately they closed. My daughter and I stayed and watched the entire time. The women looked like they all got out prison. Also they have no compassion for animals whatsoever. I wouldn't let them touch any of my fur babies ever again. Watch out. My dog wasn't the only one being scared to death. read more

Sarah in grooming did a great job with my troublesome schnauzer. My dog is a ball of sass and will try anything to get out of being groomed unless the groomer is positive and overly affectionate. Sarah is a fantastic groomer and very knowledgeable about breeds, cuts, and tactics for fussy pups. When Nori (schnauzer) balked or fussed, Sarah was calm and reassuring and kept going instead of letting Nori get her way. I picked up a clean, happy, energetic pup with a beautiful haircut. When my dog has a good experience then I know I trust that place. PetSmart grooming is just as pricey as any other groomer I've been to. But like a good hairdresser, a good groomer is worth the price. I would easily recommend Sarah and will be booking her again. read more

My dog was groomed here and when she got home she was crying, itching, and acting strange. Come to find out after 2 days of her being restless and whining like she was in pain, there was/is a huge cut on her. We had to take her to the vet and they confirmed it is a very bad razor burn. Pets Mart failed to inform us on this. The groomer (Candy) says she "doesn't know how that could have happened", yet I find that to be very false because there is a huge cut on her that you can visibly see in the picture and I doubt my dog did not squeal/jump when the groomer cut/burnt her. My dog has been not stop whining and in a lot of pain from what the groomer did to her. It's obvious the groomers want to protect their names and just act clueless. DO NOT trust Pets Mart to groom your animals as they are very unqualified to do so. I've seen multiple other negative reviews about Pets Mart Grooming but nothing as bad as what my dog had to go through. The groomers should not be trusted with your animals whatsoever!!!! The groomer, Sarah is so awesome with my pup. She if fabulous! I wouldn't take my sweet fur baby anywhere else. There's a Pet Smart app where you can book online grooming appointments. Love that. They have everything your dog, could want. Bones, treats, cool outfits, collars, and giant selection of fun toys! I let my sweet boy pick out a toy after his grooming appointment. I had an appointment for my poodle and I called to change the appointment because we were able to get the dogs shots sooner.. my mom called PetSmart on speaker phone and the lady had a hard time finding the original appointment to begin with, my mother asked several times if she had even called the right location. They finally found the appointment and they said we have an opening on Sunday morning the 16th at 10:30 if you can bring him then.. my mom said oh great yes that's perfect.. . Me being 8 months pregnant and very sick made it to the appointment just for them to tell me it was changed from the 16th to the 23rd. Which was NOT the case I heard the entire conversation. This location has cats for adoption as well as dogs (special events only) and is where my husband and I found our precious feline child, Smudge. As an added bonus there is a vet clinic inside of the store that's open 7 days a week along with the store's grooming center. If you're a cat owner please be aware that the grooming center only have about 2 people certified to work on cats. You may want to give them a call ahead of time to make sure they're in. If not, you can go to the Vet clinic inside the store but they'll charge a larger fee to trim nails. read more

Very negative experience. Staff were very rude and insisted that my dog would need to be completely shaved on their shortest level. She was still a puppy and had just a few mats. I left and called multiple groomers from the parking lot who said I absolutely did the right thing. Actually, the groomer I ended up with said they brushed right out. My Yorkie was able to keep her beautiful hair and ended up only needing a face, feet, and fanny trim. Multiple friends also had negative experiences. read more

I WAS an 8 year loyal customer and have spent way too much in that store. Price misquoted over the phone when we made his appt. Ended up being 15 dollars more with no added service. Picked my boy up soon after they called. Upon getting my dog, he was still wet and smelt the same as when I took him. This was our first and last visit. We use Pet Supplies Plus in Irmo for him now. Maybe we just had a bad experience, but wanted to give it a shot since it's closer. Now to bathe this guy and make him smell better. read more

Normally I like PetSmart, their prices may be a little high but they have such a large selection that it's worth the trip. I recently took my dog to The Grooming Salon though and I was kind of disappointed when I got home. They were super sweet with her and they all gathered around and patted her and made her feel comfortable and that was great. What was not great as when she came home she was acting different and we could not figure out what was going on until we checked her collar and noticed that her collar was super tight on her. tight to the point where all she wanted to do was lay down and sleep. We finally loosened up the collar and she became her normal self again and started running around. They may be really great employees, but they need to pay more attention to how they apply collars back on the dogs. read more

I'm not typically one to write a negative review-- because I understand that everyone has their off days. BUT I've had two awful customer experiences at Petsmart in Lexington, SC. The first instance was when I tried to get my year old Labradoodle groomed... they rescheduled on us once, then when we arrived at the rescheduled appointment they had no record of it-- so we let them reschedule us again. When we finally nailed down our appointment day and time we brought our boy in... and about a half hour later we got a call saying they couldn't cut him because he was too much. (We've never had a problem before this... we have brought him to Petco and 1 other groomer and he did a wonderful job for them). When we picked him up the groomer had left him soaking wet and matted. When we got home I found cotton stuffed in his ears. It was overall a terrible experience. And tonight I went to Petsmart after work with my pup to pick up a few toys and his dog food (Good Nature). Our pup has had a hot spot that is getting worse so I grabbed two different hot spot treatments and tried to ask the Vet at the counter if she recommended one or the other and she looked at me and said she didn't have time, even though I was standing there as she helped another walk up. I was appalled-- and the vet tech apologized on the vets behalf and happily answered my question. I understand being busy-- but at least answer in a polite and respectful manner. Again, I understand everyone has an off day here and there, but both of these instances really rubbed me the wrong way. read more

Grooming services are not worth it! I have a yorkie puppy it took them 6 hours to "groom" her well it may have taken longer but my husband was sick of waiting so he went and got her! We even had an appoiment! Well Then two hours after my husband picked her up, they called and told us she was ready!?! I meen really!! Horrible! read more

I took Tyler, my 3 1/3 month old miniature schnauzer, to Puppy & Beginner Education at PetSmart. Courtney Davis was our training and she's an excellent trainer. This is not meant to be negative in any way. I would just like to warn anyone who is thinking about getting a leopard gecko from any petsmart. I bought my handsome Khal from petsmart almost a month ago. I was so excited to get him that I didn't notice that he and his tail were too skinny. All of the leopard geckos that they had were too skinny. He wouldn't eat much for the first few days which is normal when they are adjusting to a new environment. He hadn't ate for three days when we took him to the vet and he only weighed 6 grams so they couldn't do any testing on him. They gave him a dewormer and told us to try moths, baby food and Gatorade. He'd eat a tiny bit of baby food but not much and ate one moth. He's only gotten skinnier and now worrying me more. We dust his food with the right calcium and nothing has helped. We have a heating pad under the tank, we have the right lighting and humidity. The vet I went to even said they have to bring all their animals there because they are sick and have told him many times they should get them from someone else but won't listen. I would just highly suggest getting a leopard gecko from a different pet store or from a breeder and making sure their tails are fat like I should have done. read more
