Unfortunately Pawsitive Difference does not have their own Yelp profile so I will have to leave my review for them here since they hold their events at this PetSmart location. I do not recommend supporting Pawsitive Difference Pet Rescue. My girlfriend and I have fostered multiple times, and we recently found a dog we truly connected with -- one who seemed like the perfect fit for our family. Unfortunately, the way this agency handled our experience was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional. From the beginning, there were red flags. At our first visit, we were told by the owner that we couldn't take the dog out of the kennel into the play area -- yet just minutes later, another family (with a child) was allowed to do exactly that. The dog also wore a pink collar and had paperwork showing for his already-adopted sister. We were later told this was intentional to make him seem more appealing by presenting him as female. Still, we looked past all this and decided to foster him when that family chose not to adopt. During the foster period, everything clicked. Our typically shy dogs loved him, and he loved them. We became quickly attached and knew he was the one. The following day, we were told we had to bring him back to the next adoption event. When we arrived, we expressed we were certain to adopt him -- though we were surprised by the $650 fee. We were told this included neutering, vaccines, and PetSmart training. Since we already have a trusted vet and experience training our dogs, we politely asked if the fee could be adjusted. The owner was dismissive and rude, flatly saying no. Despite that, we stayed near his kennel, trying to make the numbers work. One staff member even snapped at us, saying, "No one else can see him if you're standing there," despite the fact that we were already fostering him and trying to finalize the adoption. Eventually, we decided we were all in -- we'd make it work, no matter what. I approached the adoption coordinator (Joel) and told him we were ready. He acknowledged that, as fosters, we had first choice, and informed a staff member named Cindy of our decision. Cindy abruptly contradicted him and loudly announced we couldn't adopt him because another family was now interested -- even though they hadn't started any paperwork. Her loud reaction caused their young daughter to cry, and the situation escalated unnecessarily. To make things worse, one staff member (I didn't get her name but she is in the photo attached) physically grabbed my girlfriend when she tried to gently apologize to the other family. We were shocked and heartbroken. We were told, in no uncertain terms, "You're not adopting him. They are." It felt like retaliation for simply asking if the adoption fee could be flexible -- as if that somehow disqualified us as potential adopters. We ultimately wish nothing but the best for the dog we grew to love, and truly hope the young girl who adopted him gives him the amazing life he deserves. This organization's behavior was deeply disappointing. They were unprofessional, combative, and seemed more interested in money than the well-being of their animals or the families willing to love them. read more

I brought my Shih Tzu and Peekapoo in for grooming. The groomers did a great job and my pups looked fantastic. The low rating is because they were there for 6 hours. I was told it will take 2-3 hours, after 4 1/2 hours I called to check on them. I was told one was done and the other was almost done. I asked should I come in about 30 min and was told they would give me a call when they were ready. 1 1/2 hours later I get a call saying that my babies had been ready for a while and asking if I could pick them up soon because it's almost closing time. Absolutely horrible grooming customer service. The manager, I believe her name is Alicia was lazy and incompetent. She clearly didn't want to service my dog and came up with an excuse that was completely invalid. She claimed my dog has an ear infection and didn't feel comfortable. I called her out on that BS excuse because my dog went to the Vet two days earlier to get a wellness check and her shots. Not one mention about her ear. Alicia stated that she could see and smell an infection. I stated again, "just as easy as it was for you to see/smell that, wouldn't you think an actual vet would see/smell the same thing and call it out!" Silence on her end. Today I called to make an appointment and was told that the computer "can't make an appointment" but I could only come in as a walk in. She explained this was because the system says we've been late the last 4 apts. WHAT??!! First of all, I don't remember ever being late. Secondly, nobody has ever told me I was late. I am so frustrated and angry that they would treat a loyal customer (who always tips over 20% and always purchases doggie treats and toys from the store) this way. We've been taking our two dogs to get groomed here for the past year. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. Some haircuts turn out better than others, but overall - we have yet to have a negative experience, and what matters most is that our 2 senior boys (both with heart murmurs and neither enjoys getting groomed) always get such great service! Walk-in service for a nail trim. The girl on duty was as friendly as visiting a cannibal island, uninvited. Bossy, particular, and unfriendly demeanor. 19 dollars to get my dogs' nails cut and drummeled. Surprise, she never did the dewclaws. If I were allowed to watch them cutting her nails, which takes 2 minutes, but was instead told I had to leave while they worked on her, I would have noticed. There have been moments where people haven't done their job in terms of professionalism but after speaking to those people and management they definitely went above and beyond to make things right. It was good to hear they now own chewy so whatever I buy with Chewy as long as the bag isn't open they will take it and either refund or exchange the item. read more

I am disappointed with this location for two main reasons. Today, I was overcharged by a LOT for grooming. When I brought my puppy in the first time, she was 13 days shy of being 6 months old. It was NOT communicated to me that the rate I was being charged for grooming was less because of her age. I was under the impression that it was less because she was being provided with less service (not getting a full haircut - only face, paws and sanitary trim). I scheduled for another service online and it allowed me to rebook the same appointment. Nobody called me to advise that there was a difference in what I would be charged. I only found out when I brought her in and then it was too late. It was super disappointing and upsetting because I didn't budget for the additional cost, which was significant, but at this point I didn't really have a choice in getting it done or not. Communication is key. If I would have known that the cost was what it is, I would not have any reason to be upset. It wasn't communicated properly on the first visit and then after the appointment was made online, someone should have reached out to me to advise that there was a discrepancy. Really it shouldn't even have allowed me to rebook the same appointment online in the first place if it wasn't an option. Secondly, I prepaid for the package for all 3 levels of training for my puppy - beginner, intermediate and advanced. We found out part way through the beginner training that the trainer had a family emergency and was going to be leaving once the class was done. They still aren't offering further training classes at this location and it's been months. Shaina was a fantastic trainer and I don't have anything negative to say about her at all, but Petsmart has not handled this well. It was a nightmare trying to get a refund for the additional classes that I prepaid for. Additionally, since they haven't started offering any other classes, I've just been stuck in this limbo mode where I can't move forward with training for my puppy. I'm also supposed to be able to retake classes free of charge until we are comfortable with her moving forward, but again, no classes are being offered. There are other PetSmart locations, and while it would be inconvenient to go there for training since I live right by this store, I am willing to drive. That said, none of them are offering any classes when I am off work so that's not an option either. I feel totally stuck. All of this just stinks because I have been very loyal to PetSmart over the years. My trainer back in California was incredible. My dog who has since passed away went through all the training up to Canine Good Citizen and I still keep in touch with the trainer to this day. I have spent thousands on training, food and toys with this company and have recommended them to my friends for training. To have these experiences that I'm having at this location is surprising and deeply upsetting. I expected more from PetSmart. I will be reaching out to corporate as well. I've already expressed my concerns at the store level but was not really given any sort of resolution or even understanding and empathy. read more

I just left this petsmart location, i wanted to pay with cash the electronic machine wouldn't take my bill, so the cashier tested the bill with the pen. it turned yellow indicating the bill was good, but the young lady said she could not accept the bill. it clearly passed the pen test so i don't see what the problem was. if the bill was counterfeit it would have turned black or dark blue. This review is more or less geared towards the grooming / groomers! On Wednesday, October, 23rd, 2019, I had called PetSmart and spoke to the Grooming Department in regards to getting my German Shepherd the works done to her. Meaning the anal glands, ears, teeth, nails, a de-shedding done, and a bath for her. I called roughly around 11 a.m and spoke to a girl who quoted me $69.00 dollars for this all to be done. The appointment was set for 8 a.m, the very next day on the 24th. Since I would be at work, I had my mom drop her off. The Groomer with the red hair that was up in a pony tail and was wearing eye glasses, was a complete ignorant piece of crap that was rude towards mom. So how this all took place was my mom told the girl she was here for the 8 a.m, appointment which they did confirm. Yet the girl was confused, because she told my mom the price for the bath and nails alone were $58.00 dollars. When my mom told the girl she was wrong, the girl was persistent and argued with my mom stating that she was wrong and knew what I was told. So my mom being the woman she is demanded to use the phone to call me, so my mom called and instead of getting my mom I get this dumb founded groomer who I already described, asking me what I was quoted. I told her I was quoted $68.00 for my German Shepherd to have her ears, teeth, anal glands, nails, de-shedding, and a bath. She immediately asked me who told me this and I told her the girl from yesterday. The girl then went on to attempt to tell me all these kind of prices and add on's for the grooming. So I was basically lied to and told that $68.00 dollars is actually $81.00 dollars. At this point I immediately told my mom to get my dog out of there as I lost trust in them already since this grooming place wants to play mind games with customers and act ignorant over the phone. The manager Monica came out after the groomer came out and told my mom the price was wrong and attempted to apologize, but both were ignorant as hell. I heard the tone of voice over the phone and how they tried to down talk my mom, but sweet talk my rear, because they know what they would get as far as a true argument. Monica apologized to me and then stated we would cancel today's appointment, but give you tomorrow if you want. I laughed at her and said no I will surely pass as I do not trust any of you with my dog after your pos move. They also are that dumb to also tell me I have a Golden Doodle which I never had ever, I have a German Shepherd. They told me yesterday it was fixed, but apparently they can't even manage to do the simplest tasks. I also forwarded my yelp review to the PetSmart Corporate, because of both their disrespect towards my mom for no reason. My mom was getting upset at the fact how she was being treated by the first woman and now having a manager chime in and do the same thing as if my mom was the one who called and made the appointment and misunderstood. No one misunderstood or miscommunicated anything, I was told one price and then very next day slammed with all kinds of add on's for my dog for no reason. I would've understood more if my dog was in for that price and then they said we have these other grooming options, but the way they conducted themselves and how unprofessional they acted, yeah I won't be placing a single animal in their care period. Also to point out I did speak to someone who claimed to be part of Corporate named Dan at approximately 4 p.m, pacific standard time. He basically allowed me to explain what took place and stated within 24 to 48 hours I should hear from a manager or District manager in regards to the disrespect received by the employees. Things have definitely changed since I left my first review. I haven't relied on Petsmart for food, toys or treats in a long time. My low rating is because in the last year when I have needed them for specialty items that I didn't want to wait for they either don't have them or the price point is unreasonably high. Items like folding gates, specialty food or mobility items can definitely be found cheaper online and most time worth the wait. I do appreciate that they offer pet adoptions but going forward that would be my only reason to go there. Add to that this location and the Lake Mead location, which I visited last week, sales staff is hard to find so good luck if you have a question. read more

I have brought my puppy aged 1 year old to Ann, A personal trainer at Pet Smart Summerlin 3months ago. Still could not believe it that how amazing Ann was. Ann had helped my dog a lot to gets over come a noise phobia! Me, my husband and my in laws were very appreciated what Ann have done for us. All the staff here were super friendly and very supportive as well. Today is my dog's graduation day , we are so proud. And yes we Love it here and may consider for more training with Ann. Short story is only one dog was given a bath and the other came home stinky like she went in . The stores excuse was she's new . Well she made my dog stay in a kennel for 2 hours and gave it back to me just as stinky as she was when she went in . I wasn't offered a bath the following week free line they should have . So we've been taking our dog there for grooming, nails trimmed, treats, dog food etc etc from the beginning (He is a 1 1/2 year old Jack Russell - Terrier mix. We have paid $30 for his grooming plus a $5 tip 7 - 8 times in the last year. Went there on 7/25/19 and they hand me a bill for $41. I asked the person in the salon why it's now $41 when the day before I made the appointment it said $30. He snapped at me and said, "I don't make the prices around here, that's what you have to pay". I was totally taken aback by his lack of customer service and his demeanor. I left a critical review of their performance when asked how our experience was. I was contacted by the assistant manager Krista 2 days later and she tried to tell me that they had done extra services for my dog like nail grinding (I did not ask for them) and that another person had to assist with my dog, because my sweet 10 pound puppy was unruly. Like I said this was our 8th or 9th time there for grooming and never have they said it took two people. She then she tried to tell me that our dog was not a Jack Russell mix (smooth hair) and we were wrong about it's breed. I had to trim our dog's chin and around the eyes because it was not touched and the day after his grooming he was dragging his rear end because they did not clean the anal glands. So no more Petsmart for us. Petco is the same distance from our house, or we'll find a different groomer. read more
