This review is solely to thank their manager Evelyn. She went PAST above and beyond to resolve not 1 but 2 unfortunate Petsmart issues (those issues: one that could have been avoided are why I deducted a start-but had it not been for Evelyn this review would have been a zero bc the human-error mistake was recurring; not a one incident). Anyhow. Thank you Evelyn- I hope you get promoted, a raise, a bonus or all of the above; you deserve it. Rarely does a bad day turn into a blessing. I appreciate you SO much; you have no idea. Sending good vibes your way and to the entire team regardless of what happened; like you said: "we are human and make mistakes" I ll add to it "the importance is in rectifying them" and you certainly did. Thanks again. read more

This store absolutely disgusted me. I came in here looking for a dog food that is no longer being sold from chewy. And when I come into these stores I always take a look at the animals. Upon looking, as I first entered the store there is a wall of betta fish in cups. Understandable as they cannot be cohabitated. But, that's not the problem. The problem is half of the fish on the wall were in yellow/orange water and they were decaying. Deceased with bulging discolored eyes. I remember as a kid coming into your stores and being mesmerized by the beautiful bettas. Imagine the kids that come in to see that. A wall of decaying fish. This was absolutely horrific and it looked like they had been there for weeks. The amount of disgust is unbearable. (I took pictures for records as they will be sent to corporate) But that's not all! Every live reptile was emaciated. As a reptile keeper myself I know what healthy reptiles look like and it was just sad to see these poor animals. The enclosures no bigger then my hand and chalked full of fecal matter. Each animal barely surviving. A brown skinny chameleon that has been there for 6+ months as I was told and has 0 space to even turn around. Anoles that were skinnier then my pinky with sagging skin because of how starved and weak they were. A ball python smaller then my pinkie with wrinkling scales due to the same things. And every enclosure had horrible food/ some with no water. This is disgusting and needs to be handled immediately. Do better. You are killing these animals. But, the only thing that matters is selling the animals before they die right? read more

Even though my purchase was small, cat flea control, I needed advice because I knew nothing about it and have been ripped off before buying expensive flea control that wasn't anything special. Enter an associate named Chance. He made me feel like a VIP customer, which really I'm not. He was not one of those "Oh , it should be on aisle 14" which it never is. I'm not saying PetSmart does this, but it's very common. I don't give a crap where it "should be". It's YOUR store. Tell me where the hell it IS! So back to Chance. He actually walked me to the display and studied what was available. Then recommended a product that was only $19.95 for three applications. That's the one I bought. I guess my highest compliment to Chance would be that I still owned my retail store, I would do my best to steal him away. He would be a big asset! read more

My 12-year-old golden retriever and got a bath and a haircut today by the stylist, Lauren. I think this is the best service, best cut, best everything I've ever gotten from Petsmart. Thank you so so much. read more

I get my prescription dog food there and my dogs treats. They are very nice and helpful!

Adopted the best kittens from this location(Forever Home Cat Rescue), these boys are the sweetest and the adoption agency really cares about their cats to make sure they go to good homes. I told Jeannie at the other location I wanted a black and white kitten as a companion for our one year old Russian Blue. She called us within 5 mins of leaving Foothill Ranch to tell us they had one coming in the next day to El Toro along with his 3 brothers. We met him and he was perfect!! They like to adopt in pairs and my husband fell in love with the little Tan one too so we adopted both! The staff is so knowledgable and told us how to introduce our kittens to out older cat. Within a week they were best friends! We also picked up a lot of supplies they helped us pick out at the store for them too. read more

PET GROOMING DEPT REVIEW- Made an appointment for my pet Today - a day before Thanksgiving so he would be fresh for the holidays. I called ahead to find out if I can bring my pet a little early since I had to go to work. The girls who answered said yes as long as he is there before 12:30pm. I headed there and made it at 11:30am ish. When I went to check my pet in, the lady short and stout named Vi, said she cannot check my pet in because it was too early. Sure enough the employee who had told me it was ok to bring him said she did tell me to bring him in. This lady "Vi" was so rude and said sorry I didn't tell you to bring him in. I asked for the manager, and very sternly and rudely she said she was the manager and the word was final unless I pay a $10 fee for boarding. I said ok I don't mind paying the $10 and then she goes never mind it's now $30. I was extremely upset by now. Demanded to see the store manager. As we were walking towards out, I asked her who was washing my dog? She said she was. I was petrified! Such a rude person might hurt my dog! So I asked I don't mind paying but someone else should wash my dog, she insisted she would and now that I mentioned hurting the dog, she will not accept my dog for grooming. She brought the manager in who was very nice and understood what had taken place wasn't right, but sided with the other manager since I mentioned she could hurt my dog. I left but promised to review them. This is the most unorganized grooming place to go to. Don't trust "Vi" with your pet! She is sneaky about charging you additional! Horrible service by her! Everyone else was great! I hope she will be reprimanded by corporate office whom I'm going to approach next. Horrible service! P.S after writing the above review, I checked other reviews for grooming salon. They have 1 star reviews! I will not be taking my pet there anymore. Wish I had taken the time and go thru all the reviews before making the appointment. The management definitely needs to train their grooming staff correctly! Zero customer service! They are like Robots. No grey area. So sad! read more

The grooming services here are absymal. I paid $70 for a bath and brush package. Nails were not cut (the groomer claimed that my dog fought the front ones but that she'd cut the back ones- she didn't). Fur around her paw pads was trimmed in really inconsistent, shaggy clumps). My dog was clean but $70 and 2 hours for a bath only (and I have to go somewhere else to get her nails trimmed now)? She's a short-haired dog and the only part of the services I needed were not performed. Not again. read more

I hope my post with pic will get attention from shop owner. Please take care of your animals. These pictures make me wonder how the store staff are educated to serve animals. After I posted above I came back here today to buy hamster and I am sitting in front of store. I guess my posting is not reviewed by the store manager. The wheel again fell completely. I will get hamster from Petsmart at Aliso Viejo. Their store is much nicer environment for animals and their staff are much nicer to animals. read more

Wow, the lack in customer service here really shows, an employee (GiGi) really told a customer that she needed to make her kids quiet so she could concentrate. The customer asked Gigi "did you just tell my kids to be quiet?" to which Gigi replied to "Yes, and now they're whispering and I can still hear them!" The customer told Gigi that she shouldn't be treated that way and Gigi said, "well your kids need to be quiet because I CAN'T CONCENTRATE"! She then proceeded to cry. Weather or not the kids were loud or not doesn't matter as no customer should be treated that way and THEN get argued with by the employee, but as I witness to the whole thing, the kids weren't even loud, so what her issue was I don't even know. read more

Worst service ever! Went to go purchase a small goldfish, about 2 inches in size. She asked me what size tank I had. I told her I only had a small round one at the moment. She then tells me she can't sell it to me cause the fish will grow "this big" and will die. I assured her I will be buying a bigger tank (as the fish will not be growing "this big" in a few days or weeks). She still refused. I get it is recommended to have a bigger tank, it is not store policy but her own personal opinion! I asked to speak to the manager and he refused as well, not because it was store policy, but he said he had to "back up" his employees opinion! Again, NOT STORE POLICY! Just HER PERSONAL OPINION! STORE MANAGER: look at your store reviews: 3 of 5 star! Take that as a hint! read more

Riley was my savior tonight! I purchased a Betta from a small mom-and-pop shop near my home, which ended in a heartbreaking disaster for my daughter and I...Riley saved the day by helping me find not one, but TWO bettas (one for me and one for my daughter, seperate tanks of course) and informed me with the best ways to take care of them to keep them happy and healthy. I couldn't be more thankful for the service and knowledge I received! Thanks again Riley!!! read more

I went here a couple of times and had no problems. However, I discovered a few issue with this store. My main issue with this store is their prices are way too overpriced for a pet grooming store and I honestly don't think they were always expensive, but their prices went up. The cashier clerks are not the best people to always deal with and their customers are not nice people in general. I won't be coming here again. read more

Employees were very friendly but the reptiles and fish were not well maintained or cared for. I don't know if this place is in desperate need of workers or more hours, but the lock lines of the fish tanks are disgusting, there's algae everywhere, the cichlids are terrified and do not have the proper rock structures. The reptiles need way more coverage with fake plants, and the bearded dragon water bowl was nasty. The platy tank had sand for some reason (the only tank with sand) and a lot of it was floating at the top of the tank. The pleco tank had a cup with a hole cut in it which is dangerous for the fish, they could seriously injure themselves trying to get in there. Not to mention a huge trumpet snail infestation. Compared to other Petsmart's, this one is way less maintained than I've seen. read more

This review is specifically for the grooming salon. I have been taking Chief my Alaskan Malamute there for more than two years and he is always happy to go. This is important cause he hates when I try to bathe him. A basic bath costs $40.99 and you can add the "Top Dog" package which includes oatmeal, brightening or low-shed shampoo, remoisturizing conditioner, teeth brushing and breath freshener. cologne and a bandanna or bow included for $16.00. This is a great deal for a dog that weighs around 100 lbs. and can be a real pain when it comes to baths. The real star is our groomer Tatyana! She always takes excellent care of Chief. He is happy to see her (and when I come to pick him up) and behaves better for her than he does for me when it comes to getting groomed. I really don't know what we will do if she ever decides to leave. read more

This store is really clean, and the staff is very friendly. I was looking for a new cat litter, that clumps. Sounds silly, but believe it or not the one I was using, did not clump. The girl who helped me suggested one that I have used before, and didnt like... but I decided to try it again. It was the clump and seal, non scented. I think before I used the scented litter and it didnt mask the scent. Oddly enough, so far it seems the non scented is working well. I will know tonight for sure if it clumps. The box of litter was heavier than most, and the girl helping me brought me a cart to the checkout register, so I could wheel it out to my car, because she saw me struggling. I thought that was awesome. The center this store is in, gets insane, but I was able to find parking right in front of the store... I was there early. I also bought my cat a little blanket... he is usually so picky with everything... he had four beds in the house, he only uses one - so I donated the other three. He LOVES the blanket I bought him. It is in the back near the cat litter. I washed it, and its so soft and he approves, so thats a big deal :) read more

They really did our dog dirty. They didn't give us his collar, they REALLY messed up his haircut it's all uneven and jagged. It looks like a blind person shaved him in a hurry and the place sounded like doggy hell from the back room. Do your pet a solid and stay away from this place. read more

Monica did our doggies grooming and she did a great job. She has a very patient demeanor so I had no fears leaving my doggie with her. Check for coupons online, I checked but they were not running any at that time. The price was reasonable & this is the third groomer I've taken her to in this area & I'm the happiest with the groom my dog got here. They follow all COVID precautions here, only one person is allowed at the front check in area at a time. You can make an appointment on line which is very convenient. I will bring her back here when she needs another groom. read more

This is one of my favorite places to shop for pet goodies. I love coming here, bc its super sweet and easy to find everything I need for my little one. My little Batman who is a Pomeranian loves all the cookies, treats, toys and even the fish oil supplement, that I have to put in his food, (it's like a gel), which I need for his skin, because he is so sensitive, and could be prone to dermatitis. I give him the fish oil orally, and even as a baby I would feed him dry and wet dog food with salmon and veggies in it, bc it helps his dry skin, and gorgeous coat look and stay beautiful. He was six weeks when I got him, and he was being fed adult food...NO! He's only 5 pounds, a little teacup of a Pom. If you love your pets this is a great organized place dull of toys of all sizes and prices, Kong's, shampoo, and other care. I don' get my dog groomed here, he gets groomed at QD Doggie down the street bc they specialize in little dogs. They also do pet adoption here, as it's illegal to sell dogs in the state of CA. Yay for that. I also donate when I purchase. Wether it's their homeless donation, and their canned food drive for pets. Give back, bc it could have always been one of our little ones. read more

PetSmart is a bit more over-priced than the non-chain pet stores I usually frequent in Mission Viejo. Popped in here 'cos we had just finished dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. Pros: * Great selection of cat food * Girl at the till (different one than mentioned below) let us know about their rewards program - we signed up * Can get $3 off next purchase by taking survey online after shopping experience Cons: * Royal Canin cat food more expensive than at other pet stores * $5 for a cat feather is ridiculous * Didn't feel welcome by the girl working the tills, initially. No one greeted us when we entered and she was picking her nails or something. read more

I got my standard poodle puppy groomed here today and I could not be happier! Ask for Katie! She was absolutely amazing and so attentive to my puppy and my needs as an owner. I arrived early before my puppy was finished and Katie did not rush to finish up!! She even triple checked the length of his cut was okay before she let me leave! I honestly cannot speak for any of the other groomers, although all seemed very nice, but Katie definitely made my puppy look precious. She even went out of her way to call my vet for me because I forgot to bring in his rabies records. She did exactly what I wanted and more and took the time before the cut to show me each blade length to make sure he was just the way I wanted him! Plus! His cut only cost me $66! for a standard poodle its phenomenal! as for the store it was clean and the associates all spoke with me while I was wondering around waiting for my puppy to be finished (for almost an hour.) they all made sure I didn't need anything and also had a conversations with a couple! read more

The last 2 visits to this store prices rang up 10 to 30% higher than the price listed on the shelf. Spoke to the manager today and she said they are aware of the issue, they told IT, thought it was fixed, but clearly it is not. The wrong price came up on 7 out of 11 different items today. Very upsetting. I asked her if she'd like a copy of my receipt but she said it was not necessary. Hmmmm. How do they know which items to adjust? read more

I got a "Treats Member" reward for 1 free doggie day camp or day care and was excited to use it for a day of socialization for our puppy. She's 4 months and sweet as can be but I was informed when I called to schedule the appointment that because she is a bulldog she can't go in the day camp play time. I've met mean dogs of all breeds and think there's got to be a better way than just a blanket rule against a PUPPY based on breed and not disposition. The only saving grace is that they let me know upfront that she would get some limited interaction with the staff but would be kept separated in a kennel for most of the day so I didn't waste my time or subject our little girl to that. read more

They were great, friendly and nice. They have good prices. I have brought my dog here a few times and today. Today I thought it was strange when I picked up and it was explained to me how my Lily did not want her nails trimmed and I was told they needed a second person to hold her down! When we got home I noticed where she was cut on the tip of her left foot. All the fur was shaved there and I noticed the wound from across the room. How could they miss it? Of course, she would not want to have them working on her when she gets wounded by them! I'm so sad! read more

I purchased a small fish tank filter 4 days ago, opened the box and found the actual filter missing. So today, I returned it for an even exchange. The sales associate opened the "new" one to verify it had the filter. Well, I just got home, ready to use this filter...and the items are very used. The external components are filthy, the filter has obviously been used, and the whole thing stinks like it say in a fish tank, past it's change date for a month (honestly it's given me a headache). Seriously, when people return things, do the employees just put the item back on the shelf? No checking for quality? I get that it's for a small tank, but that doesn't make this ok. I paid for a new product and got someone's trash read more

Jennifer H did an amazing job on my standard poodle, Stella. Jennifer is not only a top notch groomer, but an extremely kind person.

We gave Petsmart grooming a try but will not be back. I felt that they nickeled and dimed us by adding on services to the cost.whereas other groomers are about $30 cheaper. They also didn't call to let us know our pup was ready. I called about an hour later and the employee said "he's been ready for an hour, no one called you?" To finalize, all the way home our pup was licking his leg, turns out they cut his leg. When called we were advised to get a cone and put neosporin on it. So frustrating. read more

It's a PetSmart, it has all the pet food, toys, and accessories one could ever need for every average household pet. But it's really clean. And the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable.
