Been coming here for a little over 6 months now, always a positive experience and staff is super friendly and welcoming! Today was the first time I used their nail trimming service ($19 for a trim and grind). I did a walk-in on a busy Sunday and they got my baby in right away. My baby is super timid and was scared but the lady who cut her nails said she did a great job. My pup has super long quicks but they still got as much excess nail off as they could. Ridiculous to take 5 hours to groom a 7 lb. Dog, just to pick up and was not groomed properly!

I came to pick up my fur grand nephew from the groomers. His grandmother also wanted me to pick up a specific carrier she saw. A young man helped me try to find the carrier. The specific one she was looking for (pictured) wasn't with the other carriers, she called me to let me know they were actually by the groomers. So the gentleman walked me to where they were and it was all good. I saw people checking pets in and out at a desk outside of the groomers. It was quite a long line. So I stood in line for a while (pictures). When it was finally my turn, they graciously informed me that I was in the wrong line (that line was for the animal hospital) and directed me to the correct place behind the groomers door. The groomers were hard at work, grooming, checking in pets, checking out pets, cleaning up accidents. They were welcoming and friendly. They gave me a receipt for the grooming and instructed me to take it to the cashier. On the way to the cashier, I decided to go ahead and check in on Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised to see a 10% off coupon for groomers. "How timely," I thought. Following the instructions on the coupon, I showed the cashier who called for assistance as the coupon was unfamiliar. They were looking for a bar code which wasn't present. The only button available to press that I could see was "Mark Offer as Used." So I pressed that, hoping it would present a bar code. But, alas, the coupon closed and I was unable to use it. Both the cashier and the lady she called to help were sorry they were unable to grant the 10% off. I hated holding up the line for a coupon that didn't work. Luckily the cashier called for back up and the young man that helped me earlier was able to assist the other patrons. After that small disappointment, I went back to the groomers to pick up nephew. He was so handsome. They did an excellent job. In the end, though there was disappointment, I had a pleasant experience. read more

If you plan on getting your dog groomed here I hope you're doing preventative measures for fleas because they will definitely get fleas I have never had my dogs get fleas in their seven and six years of life all it took was one time to this Petsmart location and they got of fleas I didn't realize until a couple weeks in after their grooming now I've spent hundreds of dollars to get rid of these fleas I will never be coming back to Petsmart also the manager Drew is fairly rude for the record!! read more

I would never visit this PetSmart again. Even after respectfully venting my frustration to the store manager Drew (who was a white male) his only response was he was sorry I was inconvenienced. Once I asked for everyone's names that weren't helpful so they could be included in this review he then threatened to call the police (or did) on me with my dog. I came for a grooming a couple of weeks prior that wasn't up to my standards. My puppy is only 5 months and has been professionally groomed by the same groomer here in JAX typically. I took him to PetSmart twice (once in ATL and no problems) once here and it was the worst grooming out of all of his times serviced. He wasn't as fluffy and sharp and in 1-2 days he no longer looked groomed. I kept that experience to myself and I was going to give them another go round today until I was denied service at my appointment because I wanted to add a sanitary trim. I was unaware out of the $65 dollars of services I already requested an eye trim (only) didn't come with. However, since they had 4-5 groomers and one call out the grooming salon closed at 2:00 PM (Making my dog the last appointment). Despite online stating closing time for the grooming salon is 9:00 PM. My original appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM. However, at 1:20 PM I called and asked could I come at 2:00 PM which was granted. (This granted request is how they accommodated me today said by Drew the store manager). At 2:06 PM, ten minutes into me being there, and before I got a manager involved I decided to get the services booked and I was denied service because I took too long to come to a decision. I was told by the groomer of Ash or Nicole praying that's the correct name "she told me 2:00 PM". Now again, I asked for names because I specifically stated I was going to speak with the grooming salon manager about how the salon is being ran when she isn't present but that's what caused animosity for the police to be threaten ? The entire situation was improperly handled from the salon leader to the store leader. 17 min drive and waste of time. read more

Went to get my dogs hair cut for the first time. He has long hair, like a lion. Didn't want to get it cut but it is summer and he was hot. Told them to just trim his hair and that is it. They butchered it. One side is shorter than the other and under his belly it is choppy. It looks like a 5 year old cut his own hair. I will not go back and I pd $80. This is more than I pay for hair to be cut. Oh and I didn't get my 10% off first time grooming. They cheated me out of money and messed my dogs hair up. I DO NOT recommend this place for dog grooming. read more

With three new kittens, we sure have been doing a LOT of shopping in here lately! We came in initially looking for a cat tree because they only had tiny ones at Walmart. They have a ton of them here and they have the really large ones. We found a really great one that our kitties just love. It was around $140, but definitely worth the investment. The guy helping us was really friendly and didn't mind at all that we had him pull like 4 of the huge ones down off the top shelf so we could look at them up close. Came in another day to get some advance from the vet tech at the back of the store because the female kitten we just adopted wasn't eating well. She had just had her spay surgery the day before we adopted her and they didn't give us any special instructions. Got some great advice from the vet tech. Little girl is doing all better now and she's eating like a champ! We also picked up some really cute bowls for food and water. They have a very nice selection for both cats and dogs. The next day we were in for more cat toys. We found out that when you have three kittens, you need more than just a few! Haha Everyone we dealt with in the store was really friendly and really helpful. Whenever we needed assistance, it was never difficult to find an employee with a smile and a good attitude. We'll continue to shop here and I'm sure it'll be much more often now because I intend on spoiling these three cuties as much as I can! I had the worst experience I have ever had with the grooming department Petsmart in Jacksonville beach. 10 minutes before my dogs grooming appointment I received a phone call from in if the stylist at petsmart telling me they're canceling my dogs grooming appointment because his stylist had an emergency, which I completely understand! I asked for a later appointment with a different stylist, she replied with the biggest attitude that there is nothing available for later, I told her I'll call later to reschedule. I look online and I see a few openings, so I called her back telling her I see openings and apparently she took it personal and thought I was calling her out. long story short, I settled for a next day appointment. she thought she hung up the phone because righth after she called me the F word and the B word to her colleagues!! only because I see different online! for that reason I will no longer take my pet there because with this attitude I do t trust her around my dog. I always thought my dog just didn't like grooming, but after interacting closer with them today I believe my dog is not safe around her. read more

The grooming staff in this location is the best!! We use Autumn and she is top notch. She always greets us and our puppy ( broxton), she takes extra time to make sure Broxton is comfortable and enjoying every bit of his spa experience. He runs with excitement to see her every time it's grooming day. If you need a groomer Autumn is definitely the best. read more

Very disappointed in PetSmart Grooming, located in north Jacksonville. 13141 City Station Dr Unit 1Jacksonville, FL 32218 Our Yorkshire Terrier came home from PetSmart Grooming Center with a hurt rear leg. The PetSmart manager was kind enough to pay the charges from 2 visits to the In store Banfield Pet Hospital. The veterinarian said there wasn't any broken bones and must have been a soft tissue injury. It's now been 9 days after the grooming/injury and our little dog still walks on 3 legs at times. I'm happy to say, our dog's leg is getting better. Our 4 year old Yorkie has never been said to have a behavior problem. Did I mention our dogs back leg hair (both legs) never did get trimmed, strange ! read more

I have the most honest, hard working, animal loving and kind-hearted man as a boyfriend. Yesterday he came in with his resume, to the store, and asked to speak to the hiring manager. Now, I didn't go into Petsmart with my boyfriend; once he left the store he came back to me and I asked how it went. He said this 'manager' refused to take his resume that he brought in. Just tore him down about the contents and format of the resume as well as bringing in a resume at all. There were more negative and derogatory remarks made rapidly but you get the jist. But the only semi helpful thing this manager did was verify his application from online wasn't recieved. That in itself is an issue! Potential hardworking employees put in applications that aren't being recieved and worse, their new manager is rude and arrogant from the start. It's a pet store! (The other 4 applications he put in online were successfully recieved by other stores.) I could go into extensive detail on my opions of the prejudice manager my boyfriend met and my own experience directly with him ... but I won't. My boyfriend said it best, "if that is how that manager treats applicants ... I wouldn't want to be his employee." Petsmart ... You let us down this week. We are both animal parents. For me, I'd never go back to this location with such poor customer service in River City Marketplace. read more

I'm not a big fan of Petsmart after I was unable to find a very handy dog water accessory due to the item not being in stock, coupled with the fact that the employees said that they "MIGHT be getting some in over the next few weeks." The item screws onto your outside water spigot and allows your dog to lick it to get water whenever it is thirsty; something that is VERY convenient in the middle of a Florida summer. The employees advised that the reason the item isn't stocked is because Petsmart Corporate is making all of its stores into cookie cutter stores. Basically, if stores in the North part of the country would have a hard time selling the item (or vice versa for stores in the South) then it's not made available to any of their stores, anywhere. They don't even sell the item online even though their major competitors at least sell it on their websites. Also, I wish I could find the Banfield Pet Hospital on Yelp, but it's located within the Petsmart store so it wouldn't show up under it's own listing. The DVM that handled our dog's spaying was not very friendly or helpful. She eventually just walked away from us after I asked a few questions for post-surgery care. Their puppy care plan that we signed up for really isn't as good of a deal as they make it out to be either. read more

Lot's of stuff, just a weird layout. Did pick up a nice little harness at a fair price, but couldn't find any of the organic bones for small dogs here. Horrible horrible service at the groomers. I do not recommend this place. Extremely poor communication and a lot of attitude. No customer service at all. This staff should be re-trained. No one cared to help me at all. And Management was no help. It is clear the customer is not the priority here. The girls at the groomers all had an attitude I didn't feel safe leaving my dog. Times are tough enough for people to also have to deal with this level of disrespect when they are going somewhere to spend money. read more

This location has a practice of charging more than posted or quoted prices. The shelf prices are frequently less than the price at the register. This has happened to me on three or four visits. Today I called and got a quote for shampooing my dog. When I went to pay the groomers wanted twice the quoted price and would not honor the quoted price. I had to go to the manager who eventually lowered the price but claimed that the price was set by the groomers not the store. I see a disturbing pattern here. read more

Had an appointment today at mandarin store. Shampoo and groom and file her nails. Been taking our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. There for a year or longer. No problems till today. Our dog has skin problems. Told today they could not use our shampoo recommend by our vet. Wanted us to let her be shampooed with their shampoo. We then left. Their curbside service is a joke. I placed an order for 87 Bucks at 2:05 PM today. I received an email saying it was received, being filled, would not be charged until it was completed and then would receive a second email saying it was ready. They charged me, in full, right that minute. At 6 pm I got in my car and called while on my way there. The said the order was started but they must have gotten busy and forgot to go back and finish it. Since it took so long I had to drive there during a monsoon lighting storm. I'd never leave my pup unsupervised with certain groomers based on how rough I saw them being with others pups. I dropped my dog off to be groomed. Over 4 hours passed and we did not receive a phone call so I went over to pick him up. Upon arrival, I found out that he was not groomed at all. He was given a bath and put into the cage to "air dry". It is completely unacceptable and cruel to have my dog sit in a cage soaking wet for so long. It was also pretty pathetic that when I walked in there were other groomers clocking out for the day. If someone is behind on grooming, they should have one of the other groomers help out! It is unfair and cruel to make a pet sit wet in a cage. read more

We take our nearly blind cocker spaniel to Tina in the Grooming Salon. While our dog is grumpy and a little difficult to deal with being nearly blind, Tina always does a great job getting him washed & trimmed. She knows him by name and I feel confident in leaving him in her care. read more

Very unhappy with today's service. We won't be going back. The groomer overcharged twice on what the agreed amount was to be. They made us sign a paper and everything. They never called to let us know our dog was ready. We called twice and they said in another hour or two each time. Which means they left her in a cage for hours with no bathroom break and no water. The groomer never even came out to talk to me. Our dog was there for over 7 hours and that was with an appointment. I believe they took in way too many walk ins. The only good thing was that the manager did give a discount because we complained. read more

The staff always exceeded our expectations. We love the training with Ms. Amber and the grooming with Tina. To be honest I wouldn't use any young girl at the grooming, some are very inexperienced. Tina has a lot of experience and I observed her during a couple weeks before scheduling an appointments with her. Let me preface this by saying, DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO PET SMART FOR GROOMING. They do not follow directions, and they were even written on the receipt they gave me. The directions were very clear and they could not follow them. How do you skin a Golden Retriever? Don't most groomers know what a Golden looks like? My dog was butchered. Not only was she skinned like a fish, they also stripped her of her feathering on her legs when they were specifically told to not touch them. They actually admitted they neglected to use a guard for her coat and just gave her a buzz cut. She looks like a different dog and trust me, it is not like a Golden. This location really disappoints me, I used to work at petsmart on Southside so I know how things should work (and that one was a busier store than the river city location) every Monday I go in to get crickets because that's my day off and I also go back later in the week. the past 5 or so times they've been out of crickets! they receive shipments twice a week, and never seem to have them. does someone come in and buy all the cases of crickets?! I don't understand. So I changed my days to come in to see if it works out better & I came in today (Sunday) and they're out of crickets! now I have to wait until Tuesday when they get their shipment and it puts off the feeding schedule I have fixed so when I go they would hopefully have crickets. very frustrating, I wish there was another place to go get crickets. not to mention when you go in there you have to beg for some one to come bag them for you, I can bag them but they wouldn't like that too much. read more

Had only two people in line in front of me yet stood there for 20 minutes before i finally had enough and left without buying anything because neither cashier knew what they were doing. I go to this Petsmart at least once a week or maybe every two weeks. I use their grooming with Sellitti as they always do exactly what I ask and my dogs which are two Pomeranians look terrible when they are shaved. Most other groomers always end up shaving them after I expressly asked them not to. This grooming department does not do that. They also do a deep conditioning for my dogs skin and brush their teeth. I also use the Banfield veterinary services located inside the tent smart. We have purchased the Banfield plan so that our animals all get their regular shots and two examinations a year. I also purchased items for my fish and my cats and my canaries. The staff there are very helpful and always ask it when I am looking for something or if I can't find anything. The checkout line is very quick and you can have your receiptemailed to you instead of having it printed out which waste paper. This Petsmart is located in River city marketplace and there is a huge parking lot out front with plenty of parking. read more
