Pet Smart refuses return or exchange because corn snake died after 15 days and their policy is 14 days... We were watching a brand new baby corn snake for our friend. My partner had many snakes before and originally told our friend to not buy from petsmart, but they did. We woke up today to find the poor baby had passed, and we put it in a small box to take it to petsmart to try and get a replacement that would hopefully live longer. They said that we were ONE DAY passed policy and they couldn't do anything for us. That it SHOULD'VE died yesterday. That baby shouldn't have died at all, not like that anyway. It refused to eat or do anything three days before it passed. I'm annoyed at this policy being such a short time along with the rudeness of employees. How could you be so rude to someone who woke up to a dead animal? How could you act like a policy gives you an excuse to be mean? We went to Petco to talk with them and petco is giving us a discount and told us there's so many people coming in every day saying something similar. It's all reptiles too :( Thank you to PetCo for having sympathy towards people upset that a baby animal was sick and died. Sadly, PetCo doesn't have an exact match for the albino baby lost. We are getting one that's brown and white and then trying to explain to the kid who owns the late snake what happened. read more

After some research, I decided to buy a fishtank. This was about 90 days ago. I bought a 20 gallon tank from them, and took their advice to add plants and which fish to put together. They also recommended drops to add to the water. Within 2 weeks I already had a couple of dead fish. I went back and was given advice by one of their associates. Bought more fish. A couple days later. More dead fish. I went back, got contradicting advice from another associate. Now I'm down to my last fish. I went back and was told completely contradictory advice by yet another associate. Do these associates have any training? Or are they just pretending that they actually know? Super disappointed in the "expert" advice. As a novice aquarium owner, I will seek advice and find fish elsewhere. read more

I got a gerbil cage from pet smart for my birthday and the door completely broke and it is very hard to get in and out of. My gerbil has already chewed through one of the rings it came with I'm very disappointed (I got the tiny tails all living things comfy house) and my gerbils have a very hard time getting up and down the tubes because they are a straight drop (that's how the directions told me to build it) and my gerbils are almost to big for it read more

I love stores I can take my dog in. The workers are usually very friendly and for the most part, knowledgeable. The shelves are always stalked well. In 15+ yrs, they've only been out of crickets once for our reptile. The prices are a little high. I prefer the overall atmosphere of this store over Petco. read more

I visit a person frequently in Ammon from salt lake , I recently took her two Bichons, one being 17 yrs. old to be groomed at this Petsmart, groomers Ben and Shelby did an outstanding job. Ben did the 17 yr. one, not only a great detailed grooming but he was so caring and gentle with the older one. I have never found groomers in salt lake in 20 yrs. as great these two did for us. Service has been helpful and attentive. Merchandise is somewhat over priced, but the store does have a wide variety of products to offer. And I can't stand Petco so this is really the only other pet store option in the area. Also, the only other complaint I have is that they generally always only have one or two registers open, forcing their customers to wait in line even on busy times like the weekends. read more

Nice enough workers. That being said, my pet was supposed to receive the top package and when I got home he started frantically scratching his ears. When I looked there was blood everywhere in his ear that hadn't been there before. Also, I could tell that they hadn't taken the hair out of his ears. Long story short, after taking my pet to the vet, he had 2 major ear infections due to the hair not being removed from his ears. That was supposed to be part of the package and clearly wasn't done. They also told me 2 1/2 hours and it ended up being close to 5 before he was done. His cut was uneven as well. Won't be going back. read more
