Hamster had extremely obvious signs of severe zoochosis (mania and distress from lack of proper enclosure and stimulation), and was jumping up and down in the same spot the whole 40 minutes I was there to the point where the bedding beneath it was indented. When I asked an employee what was wrong with it she said she didn't know and it might be stress but they tried to move it to the back but that didn't work and now it's adoptable. Almost all of the enclosures are practically bare and neglectful. How is it not considered abuse? read more

Groomers were rude. Never had an issue with groomers having to take in my pets. Made suggestions for my dogs when it wasn't asked of them.

I shop the PetSmart in Green Valley. It's not always fully stocked and often over priced. I can find my boys food on Chewys cheaper and available. On the positive everyone I've met when I've visited have been friendly and helpful. I tried the grooming services once from my boys. The first visit for each was ok. The price was reasonable. The second visit on my younger dog I canceled after arriving due to not having trust and confidence in the groomer. read more

The dog grooming service is amazing. My dog is often nervous and skittish in new situations, but the staff is patient and accommodating!

This review is for the grooming section of this location. I had an appointment for my dog to get groomed. I showed a picture of what I wanted (just a shave) for my dog for the summer. The groomer Vae C was very rude and told me she will NOT be shaving my dog and I can find someone else to do it. She rolled her eyes and lied to me telling me her manager was in Colorado. I found the manager in the front and she told me she would go talk to her. When she talked to her Vae was rude, and disrespectful. I can't believe she works there with that attitude. I have been a steady PetSMart shopper since they opened here in Sahuarita. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they are always well-stocked. Yesterday, though, I was very disappointed--there were two employees in the store neither of which were wearing a mask. The cashier was behind plexiglass, but came out to help me with no face protection. Another employee was in the aisle--also no mask. I didn't worry for me as I did wear face protection. This pandemic is no small thing. I will not be shopping at this location again, and I sincerely hope management steps up and begins to take care of their employees and their customers. If they resolve this I would totally give this store all five stars--but for this total lack of regard for the safety of others, I cannot. read more

Re Grooming; I have seen this same complaint in earlier reviews. I made an appointment and brought my dog in along with his vaccination records and receipts for the last 5 years, his current Pima County Dog license, etc. I had a certificate from Vetco signed by a veterinarian stating that his rabies shots were current, as well as all his other shots including distemper, Bordetella, etc. They would not accept it although every other groomer has. I stated this and this seemed to annoy them, and they were very irritated and rude. The best I could understand is that it has to be in a certain format, but they would not take the time to explain. Anyway, Petco hasn't had a problem and neither has Aunt Cheryl's. I used to buy treats here but have found Chewey to be much more reasonable. read more

Traveling in our 5th wheel. Looked like a nice place to relax for a week and get caught up on haircuts for hubby, me and the dog. We have a small English Springer Spaniel that my husband is learning to groom. He had given her a bath and a haircut but it needed some touch-ups. He was nervous about shaving around her eyes and left Brandi with a heavy brow. But most importantly were her feet. The area around Sahuarita/Green Valley is covered in cacti and thorns. Having her feet shaved closely would make seeing and removing thorns much easier. Made an appointment for the nextday at 8 am. Arrived at the store a little before 8. The doors wouldn't open and it said they're not open until 9am. Very puzzled ? Beside the store hours were the groomer hours whichsaid 7:30-6:00...? I noticed the doors weren't locked, but the automatic opener wouldn't open. I put my hands between the doors and pulled as hard as I could and the door opened. Huge store so I asked an employee where the groomer was. He pointed me in the right direction. Don't u think the employee making this appointment should have mentioned the procedure for getting into the store and finding the groomer??! Off to a bad start. I had never been to a PetSmart so wasn't familiar with their grooming options. Online they had an option labeled Basic but it wasn't posted in the store. The "basic" online included washing, haircut, nails and pads, anal gland cleaned, ears cleaned and hair trimmed, and a scarf. (There May have been other services included. Just don't remember.). They also had a another packages that included brushing teeth. I asked that that Brandi's teeth be brushed. The receptionist (who was very pleasant and tried to be helpful) brought Brandi out with long nails, unshaven brow, not a uniform haircut, one hind foot with long hair and no scarf. I asked if the nails had been trimmed. She didn't know and the groomer, Alyssa H. was on break and unavailable. I was charged $71 for a below par service. I had chosen PetSmart above the local groomers because the online info said they were all trained extensively by PetSmart. Hmm They have online booking on their site that is a mess! I tried to use the it but mistakenly hit the prompt that Brandi was under 6 months (not sure of the exact old. Their response was that they don't service dogs younger than 6 months. I tried several times to correct my error but it wouldn't allow an update. I tried entering Brandi 2 but the same message appeared. Online also doesn't allow for additional directions to be included. Very frustrating!! I will never go to PetSmart again!!! read more

Clean store. Went to the grand opening. Good stuff. I was able to pick up some decor for my reptile cages for a good price during the grand opening sales. I got some hammocks and a skull cave for different pets. They had a lot of give aways, mostly geared for cats and dogs but still cool. Trying to upload pictures but internet is sucking right now. They're right across the street from the Petco our here, so they're definitely trying to complete. They seem to have more facilities for adoptions than the Petco, I hope they use them read more

I did an online search to get my dog groomed same day. Petco was fully booked, so I checked PetSmart. I found the closest one to me was in Green Valley, AZ, which is 35 minutes from my house in Vail, AZ. I made the on-line appointment and filled out their requested information to make checkin fast. Their website state to bring his Rabies vaccination so I gather that up including his current county license (which requires a current Rabies vac). Off we go for our Noon appointment. We arrived 20 minutes before our time, go to the grooming desk to get him checked in and provide his proof of Rabies. The girl at the desk told me they do not accept hand filled out records. I take my dog to a country vet down in Arivaca, AZ (back country). This vet is the best I've been to over 40 years of taking animals to vets. This is how they do business (not computer driven). I told the girl that is all we have and it is good enough for the county of Pima for his license it should be good enough for them. She accused me of yelling at her, I was not...though I was upset with this type of harassment. She left and got her manager...this one already had a chip on her shoulder and told me it is PetSmart's policy not to accept handwritten (on a form) vac records. I told her they should state this on their website/form when you sign up for an appointment. I wasted over 1 hour of driving due to this. Terrible place, you have lost a customer for good. I did have the good fortune of stopping off at the Exceptional Pets, which was across the street. They took him immediately (for nails only) and the one that checked me in stated he too takes his pets to the Arivaca pet clinic! No issue with them accepting my dog's records. Just a note to PetSmart, put your policy on your appointment scheduler, especially when you make a deal about bringing in the records. And hire staff that are more customer focused. I did not "yell" at the girl, she just did not like my tone of voice..get over it. Customers can/will get aggravated when a business goes out of their way to inconvenience them. read more

My family and I walked in and right away we were asked if we could be helped looking for anything specific. We were asked again by another employee if we had any questions about anything. Staff seemed to be at a good pace assisting customers. This is great for a Sunday. read more

I've been going there to get my dogs nails trimmed for over a year. My dogs loved everyone who worked at their pet grooming salon. However, I went there today and they said due to COVID it's a requirement that they wash the dogs before the nail trim, which I have to pay for. It was going to cost me over $50 a dog to just have a nail trim. First of all, animals don't spread the virus. SHAME ON YOU for taking advantage of a pandemic where so many people are hurting financially. People need their pets right now and taking care of them allows people to feel better. I called the pet place literally across the street and they aren't requiring a mandatory bath to get a nail trim. So disappointed in with your ethics!! I will no longer go there... read more

best thing about PetSmart is that they let you price match other pet stores and even online if you find some products are cheaper than theirs and it's same products they will match that price for you. We bought a lot of fishes and filters here. We found that the price is little cheaper than petco and service are always good. read more

Our dogs were definitely not taken care of like they used to this last time, we are certain they weren't given baths. Just a hair cut and nail grind. One of my dogs has little pieces of dirt on her even though we requested a bath. I would definitely not recommend taking your dogs here. read more
